I agree we need Jon Lansdown to clarify that. He set the expectation so I would expect him to lay out the test of whether the manager he appointed succeeds or fails. Hopefully JL will update the fans in the coming weeks as to whether 7th is good enough or not.

7th -20th will be perfectly acceptable. I'm of the opinion Pearson was sacked because they don't like him not because of the team performance.

I doubt Liam Manning will be under any immediate pressure to be challenging.

The ‘joys’ of following City infortunately.

We’ve git a ridiculously patient and tolerant fanbase and the owners totally take that for granted.

Exactly. There will be endless posts about "getting behind the team", "give the guy a chance", "go support the gas if you don't like it" ... the lansdowns have their own unpaid PR drones on here

His teams like to press and are very drilled with clear style of play, we haven’t had that in years in my view, quite progressive and to be successful in this league in 2023 you need identity which I struggled to see under Pearson. He is a coach unlike Pearson as well turned down champ jobs 2021 so been on the radar of teams for a while.

Oh look everyone here's Michael Aspel, he's only been on here a day, but he's here to give everyone This is your F*cking Life for John Eustace.

Him, along with Eustace, scream to me that they’re good options because they’re available and free, nkt because they’re what we want and are the best fit.

Would we be trying hard for either if they were still in jobs and we had to pay compensations? I’d be amazed.

Spot on! The top candidates are employed and cost money to hire, we'll be fishing in the pond of recently sacked and the long term unemployed 🙄

I don't mean to single you out, especially as you have been supporting the club for so long and that in itself deserves credit

But come on, in 50 years you've seen lots of managers come and go and you'll see lots more in the future

Warnock wouldn't be a yes man to the Lansdowns though

I used to think the fans that had supported the club, day in day out for 30-50 years were to be admired, but now I'm very sorry to say, I think you're all mentally ill.

Honestly I don't look at that like a badge of honor anymore, just a waste of a life.

You are talking about his results. I’m talking style of football.  Not interested in watching boring football

I'm as bemused by the decision to sack NP as the rest of us. But the football has been boring for a long time, I didn't renew my 13 years season ticket because of it.

The fact i personally belive the football has been boring isn't NPs fault, he's not been backed, but we as fans have paid the price for Lansdowns negligence

Presumably in reverse order. Between 1962-1970 Bobby Charlton was widely regarded across the globe as the greatest midfielder in the world and a gentleman. Rooney was a wunderkind and great scorer but generally regarded as low on IQ. Gascoigne had moments of brilliance, bordering on genius, but was otherwise a bigoted ****.

Who do you think the thickest English Footballer of all time is?

I didn't put them in order, I don't really have an order.

He’s 20. He’s unbelievable. He’s playing and scoring for Real Madrid. I can’t think of an England player he doesn’t have the potential to be better than - or achieve more than. We could be watching him for another 15 years.

All of which I agree with but a bit early for goat talk.
