  1. Phil, are you not concerned that Parkes has chosen basement Orient over the richest club outside the Premiership
  2. I'd rather win 1 out of 10 than lose 8 out of 8, terrible stats though
  3. Brentford have a 100 per cent failure rate compared to PNE's 90 per cent, both shocking records
  4. Can't say I miss the derbies because we have nothing to gain and everything to lose, always been the same with the exception of our 2-1 FA cup win at Eastville in the early 80s when we were actually in a lower division than you for the only occasion in my lifetime, it' like Port vale V Stoke, Notts County V Forest or Walsall V WBA, the little team's cup final against their far bigger and generally superior neighbours, personally I hope we never have to play you again
  5. If Leeds come calling he'd be mad not to go, he's in a win/win situation, if he succeeds he's a hero and if he fails it would all be down to a nutty chairman, if he has any ambition he'd be gone as he's taken Rovers as far as they can go
  6. Not sure why people seem so concerned that we have such a big thread about our nearest and bitterest rivals, surely this is natural? Of course if the thread annoys people, you can just ignore it
  7. The gas posters on here talk a lot of sense, shouldn't lower ourselves to their petty standards of banning posters of the "other" team
  8. It's a BCFC forum, what do you expect, is the Rovers forum any different to ours with the disdain shown towards their cross city rivals? Personally I wouldn't know as I don't waste time trolling other teams forums
  9. Long trips to Hull and Blackburn will hit those figures but the 4000 we take to Fulham will more than compensate plus big followings at QPR and Brentford
  10. What was it Danny a baker said about Rovers?
  11. Personally I feel totally indifferent to it all, seems strange that Higgs, Bradshaw and Jelf have gone completely, a lot years involvement between the three of them, also find it strange that there are much bigger clubs in the lower divisions they could of pumped money into rather than a North Bristol/South Glos' footballing backwater
  12. 145 rings a bell to me, a record at a football match at the time, not surprising really as a particular song from the EE was shameful though for many (myself included) sung it happily without having a clue what it was about
  13. Can't remember any fools to be honest just a good bunch of lads enjoying the football experience of the 70's, it's a completely different experience these days which for my kids sake I am grateful for, but I'll never forget the different buzz that the football experience gave you in those days and wouldn't of changed it for the world, I feel it's a shame that you should feel the need to mock and criticise
  14. Plenty of teams got in as was the norm in those days but managing to stay in was the tricky bit.
  15. Pompey and Brum are the only 2 teams that I can recall that were unable to be shifted from the middle of the East End. Remember a very young Trevor Francis scoring the only goal of the game for Brum
  16. Certainly remember Birmingham and Pompey in large numbers on the East End but absolutely no recollection of Leicester
  17. I remember it well myself but unless I'm reading it wrong he's over-estimating their performance that day!!
  18. What is this "East End in 75" another famous Gas myth about to start?
  19. He is very anti Higgs, he also puts that dopey "Henbury gas" poster in his place, definitely one of their better posters but that's not saying much, never read such a bitter and jealous bunch
  20. To be fair to Kingswood Polak he is usually one of the most sensible posters on that forum
  21. Truly hilarious, they really don't do themselves any favours with this amateurish rubbish, it looks to me no more than 300-400 people there and the ground looks shocking
  22. is that the right back who helped rovers get relegated to the conference last season?
