It’s the main reason I come on here
-
Can’t see us being any better next season than this or last season
-
All about opinions, personally I think we have a much better squad than our league position suggests but there is obviously something amiss, I’ve made no secret out of the fact that I don’t rate Pearson and feel we would of been better off with managers who have gone to other clubs in the last nine months (Forest, Boro, PNE, Swansea) but we’ll never know, as I said it’s all about opinions
-
I’m still in shock that Watford had a player against us last season that cost over 40 million
-
Fair enough, I’m surprised at how comfortable Celtic have been against Rangers in the last two games considering how impressive Rangers have been in Europe
-
You’re right, but when Kalas or Wells do play he would have cost more than the whole squads of teams like Cov’ Luton, Blackpool etc yet they seem to be doing ok
-
Didn’t Kalas, Wells & Massengo cost at least that?
-
Who was it thrown at then, Ryan Kent? It’s nuts in Glasgow mind, no derby anywhere in England compares to it for pure hatred and intimidation
-
Hang on, Martin and Weimann have 30 league goals between them (possibly the most productive partnership in the division) we have three of the most talented youngsters in the division, we have two experienced midfielders with premiership experience, two centre halfs that have won promotion from this division and a keeper than many think is one of the divisions best yet we are still a shambles, Pearson has been a massive disappointment and we are as bad this April as we were last April, there is no way this team should be near the foot of the table playing the most dreadful football and no one can tell me that the likes of Millwal, Luton, Blackburn etc have better players yet are fighting for promotion

So what was the excuse for our toothless displays at Brum, Forest, Cov’, Blackpool etc -
AFC Bournemouth away match day thread

Reading went there only three weeks ago and drew, they had more possession than them and were the better team and here we have the above totally embarrassing stats. -

The likes of Peterborough, PNE, Hull & even Boreham Wood have gone there and got results but we all know what’s going to happen today, please prove me wrong -
Yet another easy draw England, whether it’s actual tournament, qualifiers or just the route to the final, a shame Southgate is in charge
-
Great send off, great stories about him when he was involved with Imperial/Knowle as a young’un,
-
Too true, shame other people can’t see it
-
Best footballer Cork ever produced until Roy Keane came along ?
-
Fair play Miah, but you must remember when Miah Dennehy was flying down the wing for you in the late 70’s if you were shouting ‘F*** the Gas” or not
-
Nothing more tedious than scrawling through past posts so I’ll give it a miss, plenty of Rovers flags in the Windies for the cricket I noticed
-
Come on Miah, we’ve had a truly woeful three years of non-entertainment, it’s not that you annoy us with your lies and over-exaggerations it’s more a case of just having something to amuse ourselves with and keep us going but in fairness you do give us so much ammunition, btw what’s your opinion now of your wife-beating manager now he’s got you to the dizzy heights of sixth?

Most of passengers on the plane we’re City fans, I remember Jamie McCombe making one of the best saving tackles I’ve ever seen

'Bristol Butchers' win against Hibs in Anglo-Scottish Cup
TV Tom replied to ashton_fan's topic in Football Chat
I think we were called the Bristol butchers when we had 3 sent off in a cup game at Palace in the late ‘70s, also the three ‘A’s’ were sent off in a thriller at Watford in the early 90’s -
Was a good day, won 3-1 after being 1 down at ht, plane times were perfect as well
-
We took a load up there under Gary Johnson, a lot of us flew to Newcastle then drove across and flew back to Bristol the same night
-
I was stood on the East End in the early ‘70s and never heard them referred to as gas until early 80’s, I remember working with one in the early 80’s and he absolutely hated the ‘new’ nickname
-
You are dead right, we started called them gas heads from about ‘84 onwards as an insult, in typical gas fashion it is now a term of endearment that’s been knocking about since the 50’s, there was no such thing as “gas heads” when we were insulting them pre ‘84 and neither will you find any documentation anywhere calling themselves that. As Danny Baker said, pathological liars is what they are
