Is the race off now?

Going back a few years, all you had to do was steal a couple of sheep.Don't know if things have changed now. They let Big Tone in so can't be that fussy.
No offence intended Big Tone.

Gloucester used to have a great Christmas Market around the Quays.I think it has been downsized since covid though.A real shame as it was a nice night away.

In fairness I haven't been to.Mcdonalds for years. I seem to recall much preferring Burger King though.

Went to Palomar fish restaurant on Glos Rd a few weeks back. Bristol has a real dearth of good seafood places, which is bonkers given the location.
Few pics below showing my oysters, each with a frozen ball of watermelon sorbet, scallops and chorizo starter with a pea puree, and then half lobster pappardelle pasta.
Absolutely brilliant meal and I'd highly recommend, if you like seafood. Will def be going back to try their seafood platter.
I really wish I could get into seafood. To be honest, this looks horrendous to me. I don't mind a bit of white fish and occasionally cooked prawns or tuna but that is about it for me.

I think they are yes , they end up fluffy in the middle and very crisp on the outside and if cooked in beef dripping are very tasty….in moderation of course.
In all fairness they sound nice. I do like crispy chips.

I think it’s something to do with the oil temperature, they’re part cooked a couple of times and then finished on a high temperature thus triple cooked …..I think .
Seems a little excessive. Do you think they are noticeably better?

Depends what one orders , a salad or a chicken wrap for example wouldn’t be the worst food in the world . And I don’t believe you can slice a potato ….
Not only can I slice potato,it only takes me one attempt to cook a chip.Maybe if theses geniuses didn't have to "triple cook" their " hand cut" chips, they wouldn't be so expensive?
P.S.Genuine question. What is the process for a triple cooked chip?

It’s all a matter of opinion I spose, I can do a Maccy Ds with the best of em but for a special occasion or a once in a while treat it’s fine and it really was superb .
McDonald's is possibly the worst food in the world. It has cornered the market very well by playing to its strengths. It is at least not exuberantly overpriced and doesn't expect people to pay mad money for six chips because they are "hand cut".Even I can slice a potato!

I believe Tom Kerridge does fish and chips for about £75.The picture I saw of it showed a not very generous portion either. How much better can it be than other fish and chips to make people want to pay for it?

No offence to anyone on this thread but is it just me that thinks all these places are just an overpriced crock of shit?

Thanks Nigel.Your leaving will be a big loss to our club.To be honest you deserve better than our backwards little club.Best wishes for your future particularly with your current health problems. Difficult to see how we will ever get a manager of your calibre again.Absolutely gutted you have gone.

I gave an opinion on the quality of the rugby not the score. You were the one moody enough to make ask a weird flippant question.
Apologies. Wasn't meant to be moody just light hearted.Absolutely no offence intended. For what it's worth I think England managed the first half pretty well against the standard of opponent they are playing.
