    That is massive hindsight.

As has already been pointed out, his last game before joining was at a World Cup for England

    Not really.

    Howd that go?

    But that wasnt the sketch.

The sketch was Guernsey Red was pursuin and signing players Steve Cop DIDNT want.

And Mr Cop let that pearl out to fans on the tour before the season started.

    Finished before he started.

    Such a shame.

So, if it had struck his other arm, no handball. Waving arm for balance, even though not deliberate, handball.

    Aha.

Your not on the politics forum.

    This is where your hiding.

    This is a hot topic.

    Its on that X thing.

And this is the problem with people (incorrectly) referring to blocks S25-27 as Section 82. (Not an attack on you @LondonBristolian)

It paints us (S82) in a certain light, which is inaccurate. And prompts these sort of opinions/responses - which I completely understand - and which generally will only have a negative effect on peoples perception of 'us'. As a result of people's actions/words which are often not at all reflective of our views/opinions.

So, for absolute clarity (although others have kindly already pointed out earlier in this thread, and others), Section 82 is a fairly small (<20) group of supporters who have season tickets in the above blocks. We don't speak for "the blocks" we speak for ourselves. And I can assure you that the 'petition', was absolutely not set up by us. And we do not hold ourselves in any higher regard than anyone else, within these blocks - or anywhere else in the ground.

On the topic itself, as @phantom has already eloquently stated. The SC&T (and others) are in dialogue with the relevant parties, as to the options which may/may not be available in terms of the expansion of safe standing within AG.

So those who are of the opinion that a wider area of safe standing (and the perceived improvement in the atmosphere which that may bring) can be comforted in the knowledge that these conversations are taking place.

    Last few minutes.

Tom was in the six yard box.

    I think.

    And everything was I think.

The away end was more lively than a Clash gig.

Is that really 40 years ago? I recall that iron fence took a pounding.

Mad to think they were Div 1 and we were Div 4 but were superior in every department on and off the pitch.

    Its forty years about.

    I don't recall a lot.

    Everybody has heard of CATS.

    Well I went on CNTS.

    City non travel service.

All stood non seater travel in the back of a removal van.

    Being drunk got you on.

But Tom did score didn't he?

  8. FA cup Notts County away 84 the away end was a bit raucous.

Feet, OB helmets and a gert fence were in the way.

Can anybody conform if the great Tom scored City's equaliser ..

By imitating some of our fans by kicking their keeper in the head?

Do you think City could be in with a shout for back pass of the season?

  10. The Chillage.

    Mbabane.

    Swaziland.

The Chillage had large communal bowls of a green herb that you mixed with another brown herb from another communal bowl in a thatched hut.

These herbs were placed in a big pipe to make smoke.

Later in the thatched hut those who had been mixing the green herbs herbs with the brown herbs from the communal bowls to make smoke with the big pipe were joined by a procession of helpful unmarried topless females ..

    No big ideas.

    Nothing to whats already done.

Much of that muchness is already done.

    Yes it is.

But tis interesting you included nothing from history.

    Nada.

You must get vexed at the 3 Lions.

When I was awake I note the training facility and academy get ratings from them who do the ratings.

State of the art top rating is alongside investment variety of facilities cost and productivity that sort of sketch.

As the big guns (Gunners etc geddit) of state of the art training facilities cost hundred million and counting.

And academies cost at this catty one thing cost millions that City dont spend to be catty two.

City ain state of the art.

People have called me thick on this here forum but I know this City training gaff and academy are not teensy weensy but its not top end and that state of the art.

    Thats hperbollicky guff.

Tis about what you expect after years of being behind what you would expect for a club of this average size if your into this nerdy stuff and that expecting thing.

Not sure what being average there is to celebrate .. Except City aint the Gas ... And we do that one anytime.

I'm a bit fed up with everything Bristol City right now. It all just feels a bit backward, you know? Why are we so stuck in the past as a club and as fans, especially when we've not really achieved much? Check out the first page of the forum, and you'll see what I mean:

    • Nigels leaving card
    • Nigel Pearson, Bit of an Artist
    • Making a fuss about winning the Carabao Cup 6 years ago (No mention of that Liverpool win we keep harping on about)
    • Richard Gould back
    • Mark Aston thread

And don't get me started on our social media team—constantly wishing old players happy birthday and every new shirt being some kind of "throwback." It's like we're stuck in a time loop or something.

Why can't we, as a club and a fanbase, be a bit more with the times? We seem to love the same old stuff, especially this weird obsession with Nigel Pearson. The guy was just so average, I don't get where all the love comes from. It's just basic and, well, a bit rubbish. We're basically cheering on failure and being okay with being average.

Why can't we, as a club and fanbase, get with the times a bit more? We're stuck on the same old things, especially this weird love for Nigel Pearson. The bloke was just so average; I'm scratching my head wondering why everyone's so into him apart from the fact he was a bit edgy. It's just basic and, well, a bit tinpot. We're basically cheering on failure and settling for being just average.

Am I the only one who thinks like this?

P.s Don't get me started with the love for Massengo just because he had big hair. Never has such a below average player been so lorded.

Fill in the bullet points. What should fans celebrate?

All they have done is stand with one of their players, completely the correct thing from the club

The lad was shouting abuse about his young child, and yeah Brentford supporters were disgusted with the vile abuse too

Being from Weston I have lots of friends that are Villa fans, and a close friend I hang out with is a lifelong Villa fan too. Yeah they pipe on about 1982 like it was yesterday, and like Leeds, Newcastle etc they have this belief that they are better than they actually are / have the best fans / best grounds etc, but that is just being passionate about their club

Don't get me started on the excitement about possibly being top of the league on Christmas Day, I'm spending the day at a house of Villa fans so wish me luck - though at least we have a common dislike for all things Small Heath

My point is their support is no worse than any others around the game, you only have to look North of the river to see how people are above their station

Have you ever sat close to the pitch at a game?

I'm sure those that sit in the South Stand behind the goal will tell you how easy it is to get your voice heard.

    It's called being a professional

Spot on, it was a bitter fan making comments about his new born child etc, shame his fellow fans didn't give him a slap

He hardly "gave it back" though did he, he stood still then pointed the guy out

It's not like he's ranted etc to the fan

Personally think Ollie Watkins and Aston Villa come out with this with massive praise

Never heard of this before, certainly nothing ever mentioned at AG8

    Ex YSC.

    Interesting chants.

    Dished it out a lot.

    This reminds me.

Although we went along with the bulk of the country all-seater in the mid 1990s, it would be interesting to know how many clubs aside from us gave the traditional End to away fans.

Like we did with the East End..Not the old old East End but we gave at least some of it to away fans. Had the best acoustics for atmosphere in the stadium still!

    Evil roundabouts did.

Fans now and new ends is like Greeks boulders and hills.

Acoustics priority is behind herding to the high fat burgers ..

Does anyone agree that  s21/22/23 should be changed to safe standing/ singing section, I know there has been many threads but to help improve atmosphere at the gate it surely has to be considered.I also understand it involves people moving slightly although still having first pick of seats as season ticket holders can retain their original seat or just move slightly left or right outside of singing section, who knows you might even enjoy yourselves cheering your club on - thoughts about this , I know Most clubs in england have an END and 99% of them are behind the goal 👍

    Whats an END?

An END like a traditional END?

    Or the new ends?

    That aint ENDS.

South Stand doesnt get called the East End or Eastend.

    Cos it aint.
