Having watched on Robin's TV we should have taken one of the chances in the first half and 1-1 would have been a fair result. At least the goal we conceded was down to their good play rather than a gift like we've given away in other games. The only disappointment was that we didn't go all out attack in the last ten minutes, we have to be prepared to gamble if we're losing late in the game. If we beat Norwich then 6 points from those 3 games would be a decent return.

I've got the same. Also get an error looking at "My subscriptions" once logged in. Obviously some fault at their end.

If you don't think it's blue what would you call it? -
I have managed to get midweek Robins TV games on our Panasonic TV but it did buffer quite a bit and wasn't as good as watching on our desktop PC.

Remember this victory at St Mary's when we played in blue and LJ scored the winner? -
125 year lease- impact on a takeover?
ashton_fan replied to Mr Popodopolous's topic in Football Chat
Of course it's all speculation as we don't know what discussions have taken place but JL said the Lansdown's weren't going to "walk away" and that they had a long term commitment to the club. -

I thought JL said the Lansdown's weren't looking to sell the whole of Bristol Sport, just looking for an additional investor who had expertise which would benefit the group. At least with the ground ring-fenced we won't be attracting asset-stripper type owners so I think it's a good thing. It's quite normal for businesses to get commercial properties on long-term leases in any case, can't see it putting genuine investors off. -
I can see where you're coming from, I've been going for over 50 years now and it used to be a couple of pints in The Robins and watch the match, but having watched the team play in the 80s at the bottom of Div 4 in front of 4k crowds in a stadium falling apart I really appreciate the matchday experience now. The new facilities have opened up the game to thousands of new fans, my wife loves going to the match but would never have put up with the old stadium, gates have increased to about the level they were in Div 1 in the 70s, in the old Div 2 we used to get 12000 if we were lucky.

It's easy on here to think most fans are anti-Lansdown, but it's actually only about 20 or 30 people who keep repeat-posting their opinions. There's no reason why they shouldn't but looking at the fans forum, and talking to people at the stadium on matchdays this isn't representative of the fan base in general.

I thought we played a much higher line defensively, Boro did the same which compressed the play into the midfield, especially in the first half which is partly why there weren't many attempts on goal. It will be interesting to see how we fare at Southampton. I won't judge Manning untill he's had 10 games in charge then we should have an idea how things will pan out.

How come you think a large percentage of fans want the team to fail? You obviously weren't at the game today

I thought we were told (by JL) that Scott money paid for our early summer signings in anticipation of him leaving at some point during the window? Also we don't know how much money we have received up front for the transfer, in another thread it was estimated to be as low as £5m? I guess we'll never know for sure?

Must have been trains, there were a lot more local stations in those days

It's probably just that the other teams started later than us and got better over time and overtook us.
