  1. I remember going to the away game on a special train. After leaving Manchester station on the way back the train was ambushed and we got a brick through the window which landed on our table.
  2. NP started with 5-3-2 throughout the club and only switched to the current formation part way through last season so it shouldn't be unfamiliar to our players, once Atkinson's fit we should have enough CBs although another addition would be preferable
  3. Despite not being at his best still provided the pass for our goal on Saturday. It's normal for young players to be inconsistent, Scott, Semenyo and Lloyd Kelly all had lean spells but ultimately bounced back.
  4. I'm willing to give anybody a chance. Sometimes the underwhelming appointments turn out to be the best ones, and the flash appointments turn out to be disasters!
  5. I remember when Benny was appointed, I think our first away game was Bradford and the coach driver got lost, of course Benny had no clue either. We did get there just in time and lost 5-0.
  6. That would make it a bit obvious though.
  7. Yes it got here early, near the VIP entrance.
  8. It will be very confusing for the Sheffield Wednesday fans who were asked by their owners to stump up £100 each to help pay a tax bill as he didn't have the money. I expect they'd like to do a swap.
  9. The board are responsible for the financial implications of transfers, any manager is going to spend money if it's offered
  10. Steve was put in a situation where he could be given stick whichever option he took, I'm sure he'd rather that Nige had picked someone without the baggage Simpson had
  11. If SL had blocked that NP would probably have walked out in week 1 so Steve didn't have much choice
  12. The team was expected to be doing better by this stage Players not prepared to their optimum in training and given too much time off in international breaks List of candidates being touted in media miles off reality Interviews being lead by JL and BT Accepted communication with fans should be better Social media platforms not as useful as they used to be for communicating with fans All efforts being made to get to Prem and then to stay there
  13. So he's said the list of candidates being spoken about in the media is nowhere near their list
  14. We could be looking for a foreign coach like QPR did in which case it could be any number of unknowns
  15. It was ok while Richard Gould was here but it's rather fallen apart since, they need a new CEO with media experience then they'd be ok
  16. Certainly not: financially sound, thriving academy, great stadium and training ground, decent squad when fit
  17. Lampard didn't fail at Derby, took them to the playoff final in his first season. He wasn't ready to manage Chelsea it came too soon and Everton is a basket case anyway I keep thinking though when Nige was appointed he was never mentioned once on OTIB despite the usual ITK posters saying a deal was imminent with candidate X/y/z
  18. Yes agreed some clubs have done better but my response was to the poster saying "almost every single club of our size has out achieved us" which clearly is incorrect
  19. Surely it's not worth winning a trophy if it bankrupts the club though (eg Wimbledon and Wigan nearly)?
  20. So no club our size has done worse? Derby, Bolton, Wednesday, Wigan, Blackpool, Reading, Portsmouth, Charlton, Barnsley .. need I go on?
  21. Surely he has been "filling in the holes" with the investment in the stadium, training ground, Academy etc.? There are plenty of owners who don't put the money in, or very little, and let the club fall to a level where it can pay the bills with little or no subsidies (the Gas are a good example)
  22. People should remember that without Steve Lansdown putting in £20m or so every year to keep the accounts balanced this club would be in L1. No previous owners have supported the club financially to this extent so a change of owner may well see us going down rather than up.
