  1. Yet ironically the club he is involved with, is one of the few actually adapting to the surroundings Try saying the same to those clubs in the Premier league spending miliions still on players
  2. No rush, we've a 5th day to play with lol
  3. Peter Risdale was on Talksport this morning, he mentioned that PNE could finacially support the football team for this and next season under current restrictions. Clearly not all clubs are in the same position
  4. That is not true @MarcusX, as someone who has been involved heavily in the reopening of a bar, the guideline was just to increase circulation if possible The is no guideline to say a venue can't open "without proper ventilation"
  5. The final day fixtures will see the real shake up in positions
  6. Seems to be the nature of our season. Hit a not great first innings score, bowl opposition out for a small lead. Hit an OK second innings score, then bowl out opposition to win
  7. Curious why the test event for Yeovil vs Bath went ahead tonight
  8. Do you honestly think test events won't occur at some point?
  9. I've no idea what was originally said in this post, but please keep political comments to the politics section One thing that I will wait to see what happens with, it is the return of supporters from October that has been postponed. It doesn't specify whether the current test events will cease. They are two massively different things
  10. Listening to the wording, I'm not sure it is test events that are being postponed It it the full return of supporters coming back from October that has been postponed
  11. Will be interesting to follow this https://www.bristolbearsrugby.com/news/leicester-tigers-pilot-fixture-ticketing-process/

  13. THE MESSAGE BEHIND THE TROPHY While Somerset will go head-to-head with old rivals Essex on the pitch in search of honours at Lord’s this week, off the pitch the focus will be on one man – Bob Willis. The former England captain and Sky Sports pundit, who made over 90 Test appearances for his country in a playing career that spanned two decades, died from prostate cancer in December 2019. His death united the cricket world, with the ECB ensuring his legacy would live on in the sport by naming the first tournament of 2020 – and the first following the Covid-19 pandemic – the Bob Willis Trophy. His wife, Lauren Clark, has teamed up with leading men’s health charity Prostate Cancer UK to raise vital funds and to encourage men at greater risk of prostate cancer to visit their GP. “The fact that in the UK, prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed of all the cancers goes to show why a lot more needs to be done into prostate cancer research,” she said. “Yes, it’s true that only men can get it; I can’t get it, but like too many wives, partners and families – I couldn’t have been more affected by it. I want to help people with prostate cancer. I want Bob to have a legacy.” One in eight men in the UK will be affected by prostate cancer at some point in their lives, with that statistic rising to one in four for black men. It is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, reinforcing the need to take action. This month, Prostate Cancer UK launched a new online risk checker, where men and their families can find out if they are at increased risk of the disease and what steps they can take – and that extends to the Somerset cricketing family. The inaugural Bob Willis Trophy final at Lord’s will see branding from Prostate Cancer UK around the ground and on the stumps, with the winner’s trophy based on a drawing of Bob by Lauren. Royalties from Bob’s book, Bob Willis – A Cricketer and a Gentleman, have also come to the charity. Fans can text BOB to 70004 to donate £10 to Prostate Cancer UK or visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bobwillis
  14. Tom Hardy rumoured to be the new James Bond
  15. Do games get shown online like football matches do?
  16. Needs Birmingham to lose tonight so it's in our own hands Otherwise we're going to be watching other results on Sunday
  17. This is ours to lose now. 82/2 off the first 10 overs 58/7 off the last 10 overs
  18. Surprised that with four overs to go, we've got two others each left for Overton and Gregory and choose Sale again after another nightmare first over
  19. OK, there is a thread already discussing the virus. A second lockdown is a VERY long way from happening Survival rate still around 99.9% Four pilot events been announced for pre-season matches in the National League It does say that Four pilot events been announced for pre-season matches in the National League
  20. Four pilot events been announced for pre-season matches in the National League September 22nd Dagenham & Redbridge Vs Concord Rangers September 22nd Yeovil Vs Bath September 22nd Dartford Vs Dover September 26th Notts County Vs York
  21. Clubs are applying as test events. It's these clubs having these test events that in turn will lead to more people being allowed in others In addition I've only read that clubs letting supporters in are actually making a loss, so no financial gain, just a case of helping other clubs in the longer term
  22. And another ..... We regret to announce that the proposed pilot event at the KCOM Stadium this coming Saturday will not take place with fans in attendance. The original guidance was that up to 1,000 supporters would be able to attend Hull City’s home game against Crewe Alexandra, in fact, to manage risk, our intended number of invited fans was proposed to be around 600. Whilst the Club’s request to host a pilot event had been authorised by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and the Sports Grounds Safety Authority, final approval was required from Hull City Council and the local Safety Advisory Group. Unfortunately, due to the rising infection rate in Hull over the last two weeks, we have been unable to receive approval from Hull City Council Public Health. Naturally, whilst we are extremely disappointed that we will not be able to welcome supporters into the KCOM Stadium this Saturday, we will continue to work closely with all of the relevant bodies in a bid to welcome supporters back to the KCOM Stadium as soon as possible. In a joint statement, Julia Weldon, Director of Public Health at Hull City Council and Sam Henderson, Head of Stadium Operations at Stadium Management Company said: “In order for the proposed ‘return of fans’ pilot match to go ahead at the Hull City vs Crewe Alexandra game at the KCOM Stadium this Saturday, it was necessary to meet 10 public event assessment criteria, established by the Association of Directors of Public Health. “The first of these states that there can be no significant increase in the area’s coronavirus infection rate ahead of an event. Unfortunately, the rate in Hull currently stands at 15.3 infections per 100,000 people, up from 4.2 per 100,000 people last week. Consequently, on the grounds of public health and public safety, this pilot cannot go ahead and the game will have to be played without fans in attendance. “We appreciate this decision will be disappointing for many but, in the current circumstances, it is the safest and most appropriate decision and has been made in the best interests of our residents and our visitors.” TAKEN FROM: https://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/2020/september/kcom-stadium-pilot-fixture-statement/
