I'm not sure there even is a short-term answer. We keep trying them and they always end in disaster. One thing I would say is that - having always in the past been in favour of giving managers a chance - I really think it's time to pull the plug on Cotterill. I actually think SOD assembled a promising squad - albeit one that probably wasn't ready and that he struggled to motivate - but I genuinely do not understand what Cotterill is trying to do.
The signings have made no sense, Moloney seems to be being forced out of the club at random, our best centre-back is suddenly a right-back and the long-term plan seems to have been scrapped for journeymen singings and random team selections. We need to identify a promising young manager with the ambition and confidence to rebuild the club and give him time to do it. Cotterill is not the answer and is just undoing the few good things that SOD put into place.
He hasn't, too many on here don't understand the word mediocrity.

Switched to blades player for a realistic and less amateurish commentary.
How baker and hoskin can make jokes during this is an absolute disgrace to their profession.

Tranmere winning 2 0 so are Crewe, against sides we couldn't beat. Hate to say it but based on results we dreserve to go down
Most sides that have come to the gate have been poor but their players still looked more comfortable and accomplished on the ball.
Even after last seasons debacle, this is the worst set of players i've had the privilidge to watch.

We're doomed. So many teams around us have so many games in hand.
And we deserve to be, we are a shocking team

Jinx broken tonight, if there was one.
He was so proud of it he couldn't wait to show it on here half done, tell him time it's we saw the finished article.
Perhaps he could have 'Flint' added as the finishing touch?
I think he's suffered enough pain as it is.
But lets hope that SC at least sees that flint/el abd looks a fair central partnership.
He was stupid to change things again v coventry after they looked pretty assured in 2nd half against carlisle.
Anyway a great opportunity now on saturday to ease our worries.
-
How's the big City tattoo coming on?
Haven't had an update for a while.
The finished article is impressive, but pretty much kept it under wraps, thinks it's become a jinx.

Flint not really shutting up the critics?
Four good games in a row and 2 important goals not enough for some to get behind him then?
As I said yesterday Flint will go on to become a very popular City player, mark my words.
Don't worry, i'll put him straight in work tomorrow.

Calm down Jeff lad....we won!! Plus JET was good
Good, that's what a near bottle of wine does to you i'm afraid.

Apart from the usual suspects, lets hope the likes of wade elliott gets some praise on here after being severely castigated against carlisle.
-
Think of the Dolman stand exit x 10 and that's what happened on the third goal.
Sh"t fans. Abused their keeper too.
What, like some of ours did to el-abd v coventry.

Only negative in the table now is, a number of teams have games in hands over us.
I believe some of them, are fellow relegation struggler's up against one another.
And you got the nerve to talk to me about negatives, ****in' hypocrit !

We've just won away, at a side third in the league, and your already looking forward to the possible negatives.
Here's a thought, enjoy the win for tonight; and then we'll worry about Saturday.
You ****, thats a positive wanting to keep a winning team.
I say again, you **** !!!
And the blanked words started and ended with T, if you couldn't work that out.

Come on Jet, fire in a blockbuster to test this jittery keeper.
About time golden boy did something this year !

We are slowly drawing our way to league 2 im afraid
Once again our managers have assembled mediocre players that are not fit to wear the shirt of bristol city fc.
I cannot see where the inspiration to get us out of this mess is going to come from, we are heading to another slow death.
On the bright side , hopefully we should get another reduction in our season ticket prices next season.

Can't compete in League 1
What do you expect with a little boy in midfield

Don't think Barnett is the answer though and seeing as there is no other strikers at the club i would keep our 18 goal top scorer in the line-up
It all sums up a very sad state of affairs at the moment.
-
Barnett started at Brentford and was shit. Showed absolutely no signs of a man desperate to play.
And JET has ? He is an absolute disgrace to his profession.
If ever a player has shown a total lack of interest and effort for a game...then he is your man.

Overall some very baffling decisions from SC, starting with the 352 which was so disastrous against Carlisle. El-Abd CANNOT play in a 3, and it's the managers fault he was sarcastically jeered when he wad subbed off.
Bryan in the middle was a disaster, looked completely lost and barely got involved.
Yes we looked better second half but Coventry had already taken their foot off the gas. For me Barnett and Burns must start at the weekend.
That wasn't good to hear the cheering as he left the pitch. On saturday in a flat back four he looked far more assured with flint.
A pity Thomas wasn't subbed, who would have deserved sarcastic cheers for yet another aimless lazy pathetic performance.
Sorry , but the sooner i see the back of him the better.
Bryan like Reid, another of our great academy products who looks totally out of his depth and lacking any fight....for a local lad.
Barnett and burns not starting was the biggest cock up of many tonight, he should have swallowed his pride and bit the bullet with 352.

When was the last time our midfield controlled a game.....i'm struggling to think of one and that includes our victories.
