Yeah I just read the match thread and I humbly apologise because it was clearly only me who thought the performance was awful. It's a forum and people post opinions. Get over it!
It was a pretty awful performance for the best part, for despite taking the lead we are still incapable of taking control of a game and due to our continuous misuse of the ball going forward we again struck the panic button and the defence were put under more unnecessary pressure which they coped with pretty well in the later stages.
Despite much criticism of El Abd again today , rightly so in a terrible 1st half, once we changed to a flat back four he and flint, to a lesser ,looked far more assured.

Unfortunately, we just cannot seem to get a squad that works, we have tried 3 managers, and various formations and players, but for whatever reason, we seem to be full of errors. Now of course errors make chances, but we seem to be the most adept team over 4 seasons at playing ourselves into trouble. Take Saturday, or another own goal by Flint, the terrible Gillet pass. I mean how as a manager can you deal with that, what can you do ? I genuinely cannot recall a period in my years (40) of watching City where I have seen us make so many self inflicted errors. I have seen us be poor due to lack of ability, beaten by better sides, have squad ruined by injury, a one off wrong tactical choice, freak goals, but never ever have I seen game in game out comical defending and continual basic errors. Never. But it covers many managers, god knows how many players. It is not normal.
Still, all we can do is stick together, this is a time when all of us, players , fans and manager have to get backs to the wall. it will not be pretty, it will be rough, but we need to keep our sorry arses in this league, and we won't do that by falling out with each other. At home games, fans have to give it their all, that is all we can do, and then end of season someone really needs to work out the curse that is BCFC :-(
A lot of hard work needed.
I'm sure i read those same said words around this time last season.

crewe and Carlisle beat mk dons
We don't..
Puts it all into perspective really doesn't it.

Elliot gets singled out, and get so much more stick than he should. He has proved he is not past it, with a few very impressive performances this season. He is more than capable of doing it in this division.
I want consistency from the players , not a few times in a season.
-
The most frustrating part is, our position does not reflect the squad we have, so what is going on?
I agree , you had to question players attitudes, application and character last season and doubley so this in a division, from what i've seen, that is bloody s**t.
-
Midfield should have been cotterills priority in the transfer window
Elliott was finished 2 seasons ago, reid and bryan have generally looked out of their depth and pack has been largely underwhelming.
-
You obviously did not go to Wolves then, as he was our best player by a clear mile, and looked the only one who wanted to put a shift in.
No, but i've seen plenty of him in the last few seasons and generally been a spent force.
If we we're decent he wouldn't be getting a look in.
One reason why we are where we are.

To be fair Marv was probably our best player Saturday
OK, but a championship midfielder who has made 18 appearances ,albeit at 35, should still be walking straight into this side.
-
So a championship midfielder who has made 18 appearances this season can't shift marv, unbelieveable steve !

Anyone else wonder why we signed Barnett if he is not going to start.Particularly with Baldock's misses and lack of any real threat .
Regrettably it's a continuing trend of our managers reluctant to play loan players especially when the front line needs a freshen up.
-
Beware the Ides of March, Cotterill
for *****s sake mate just come straight out with it.

Who's going to be the first with "COTTERILL OUT!!". I give it about twenty minutes...
You know you want to

3-5-2
Parish;
El-Abd, Flint, Williams;
Osborne, Gillett, Reid, Elliott, Cunningham;
JET, Baldock.
Subs: Fielding, Fontaine, Moloney, Bryan, Pack, Barnett, Burns.
Scott Wagstaff is unavailable due to a hamstring injury.
Stick JET in reid's position with barnett up front and i'd be a little more confident.
-
It didn't help having to do the work of two strikers until JET went off.
-
I hope to god this result doesn't turn into a SC bashing. Completely baffled if anyone uses this result as an "example" of how we aren't improving under him
Not bashing but it is disappointing with the ongoing trend for our recent managers reluctance to make earlyish substitutions.
-
**** me, there's a worse drummer than ours.
-
...like I used to do eh Jeff?
Yeah, you did the hard bit and then tripped over your own feet.
-
The art of actually taking the ball round the keeper has gone from most strikers these days.
-
No Carey? Brilliant! I shall get to see his 646th
PS Unless he comes on as sub
I will have a good laugh if he does.
-
I think the word appearance should be enough to put that to bed to be honest.
I think that rule should be made just for him !
-
Don't think carey touched the ball, that appearance shouldn't count.
-
Great awareness by taylor from jets pass, very poor.
Chance to prove himself today, been very very disappointing again.
-
actually a half decent start to this half. Hopefully SC has seen it won't work.
Should be 1-1 though. Jesus.
No, it should already have been 2-0
-
For a professional that is a disgraceful miss from wagstaff.
