  1. Why is it he seems to have such support/fans on here yet everyone I've ever chatted to at games agrees he is a lazy pr1ck and is a liability.

He showed today by trying to shoot instead of squaring to unmarked Wilbraham and Smith how he sees the world.

    Get rid of him.

That's harsh. I thought He was trying to find room for the cross and ran out. He came on and must of touched the ball 6 times and beat a man every time.

Guy oozes goals at this level and that's why people put up with the lack of running around.

  2. It is wrong that a match is rearranged with such little notice, but the Football League, must take a large share of the blame for this.

City were obviously prepared to play Saturday and Monday, as long as Stevenage (Mondays opponent) were doing the same. Once this was not the case, as Sheffield United v Stevenage was moved to Good Friday, City percieved they would be at a disadvantage on Easter Monday, so moved our fixture.

So why have the Football League allowed Sheffield United's match to switch date, outside of its required timescales and why were other clubs not officially advised until this week. as Mr Ed pointed out checking the FL website was pointless as even now it still states that this match takes place next Saturday.

Perhaps, next season there will be a touch of common sense and all fixtures will be scheduled for Good Friday.

I've been wondering this. Only thing I can think of is it might be something to do with the FA cup as they will have a fixture that they can't play this weekend.

Personally I was going to chose between this game and the Crawley game. As I am now at work during the Notts County game the choice has been made for me!

  3. And I should point out (before anyone else does) that Wikipedia says Germany lead 14-12 overall, as they count the 1990 and 1996 penalty shootouts.

The FIFA website treats 90 and 96 as draws (as I believe FIFA officially record tournament games that go to penalties as draws, for ranking points purposes), and says it's 12-12 overall.

If you want to include penalties, Germany would be a 5th team on the list.

Fair enough- good question either way!

  4. Here's a question for you: in the history of international football, only four teams have defeated England more times than England have defeated them. Can you name them?

    Brazil and Italy - yes.

Argentina and Germany - no (England v Germany is twelve wins apiece).

    Two left.

    Uruguay and Chile?

  5. One thing has changed for Sammy. He's been used more of a clinical finisher now, Playing out wide he cuts in and only has a small chance of a goal, That's all he needs to find the net.

When playing through the centre he had loads of one on one opportunities that he failed to convert. He's much better when the odds of him scoring are minimal than when the crowd expect him to score

Do people feel he would of got 6 in 6? If he played central all the time?

I'll be honest when Cotts was appointed I was very underwhelmed because I was expecting tactic-less hoof ball (going off what Forest fans were saying). However I feel moving Sammy out wide has been a master-stroke as he is spending less time trying to out jump 6ft tall defenders and more time exploiting space behind the full backs. Well done to Cotts and Baldock.

  6. Ryan Bertrand?

Close- He hadn't at the time that he played in the final, but has since been capped by England, so not the name I was looking for.

Bertrand was however the first player of the Champs league era to make his European debut in the final.

  7.

Which team has won every time that they have played away at Arsenal?

This one is really annoying me. I've been asked it before...... determined not to Google it!!!!

Edit: Think I might have remembered..... Tranmere Rovers?

  8. Name the FIVE French players that have scored 50 or more Premier League goals?

Henry, Anelka, Cantona, Saha and at a guess Pires?

What footballer, who is currently playing in the Premier League has played in all four divisions in England, the Conference, the Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Scottish Premier League, Scottish Cup and Scottish League  Cup ?

    Gary Hooper

Which team has won every time that they have played away at Arsenal?

Who has scored a hat-trick in the Premier League but been on the losing side twice?

    L Tissier

Name the THREE players  who have come on as a substitute, scored, and never played for England again?

Jeffers, Nugent and Goddard (this was in a pub quiz recently and I didn't get Goddard but apparently the game was the year I was born!)

Which THREE players have played in the Old Firm derby, Manchester derby and Merseyside derby?

    Kanchelskis, Bellamy and Michael Ball

Which two league teams - one from England and one from Scotland - don't include the letters a, b, c, d or e in their names?

Who are the lowest ranked international team?

    Turks and Caicos

  9. Dennis wise is the only player to have won the FA cup in 3 different decades. (Wimbledon x1, Chelsea x2)

Tony Adams is the only player to Captain a title winning team in 3 different decades.

The 1950 world cup is the only one not to have had a final. Instead the winner was decided by a second group (consisting of the 4 winners of the first round groups) the winner of which won the world cup.

Tottenham Hotspur is the only club in the football league whose full name ends with the letter r. (I'm assuming this is still correct- it was a few years back but I can't be bothered to check! It catches a lot of people out as they think it ends with s.)

3 Scotsman have played in Serie A. Dennis Law, Graeme Souness and (of Course) Joe Jordan.

There are also only 3 ROI players to have done so but unfortunately I can't remember one of them... Robbie Keane and Liam Brady are 2 of the 3.....

  10. Wasn't at the game yesterday so can't comment on the misses. However I have seen the goals on YouTube and can comment on how poor both goals we let in were.

This is unfortunately the real problem. We can't defend. I don't think you can really blame a striker who is well on his way to a 20 goal season (of which we have two!) for missing when we are guaranteed to let in at least one a game.

  11. Agree with last sentence, as for Killkenny he is ok in a team doing well, ala Leeds until the wheels started to come off, his time with us we were never successful, it'll be interesting to see if Preston's season goes tits up the thoughts of it's fans.

I think you are right. Lets see what happens if the results start turning for the worse and the Preston have to dig deep because that is where he came up short for us.

Bizarrely enough I ended up sat next to a guy who claimed to be "Killas best mate" at a wedding recently. Kept telling me that Kilkenny wasn't suited to the way we were having to play due to our league position and also told me that he was completely devastated at some of the reactions from the crowd.  All I kept saying back was he might be right and I don't hold anything personal against the guy! Didn't work out- he needed to move on everyone's happy now!

  12. Nothing surprises me with this club.

Results haven't been great but I honestly thought that we were in it for the long haul this time round.

Timing seems bizarre considering people have been saying that it was one of our better performances on Tuesday.
