I believe they are trying to saw through the bars of a bank vault.

The evolution not revolution line, which has been swallowed by so many fans, may be a ruse to disguise the likelihood that no new equity has been put into the club and the acquisition could possibility have been financed by a loan from Dwayne Sports Ltd which will be paid back when The Mem is sold.  If this is true the Al Qadi family will have actually paid nothing at all for Rovers.

Add in the probability that the cash for The Mem upgrade has come from season ticket revenues and the two Gentlemen who are supposed to be working tirelessly on the UWE Stadium "file"  both appear to have full time jobs managing other companies and there may be some cause for concern.

However, I for one am reassured by the fact that successful businessmen do not buy sports clubs purely for the prestige of being described in the papers as "billionaires" or rubbing shoulders with intricately tattooed players or being treated like royalty by sycophantic fans. And neither do banks use other peoples money to enrich their coffers from tasty land deals at absolutely no risk to themselves.

    Do they ?

Patience is important to us. We did all jump for joy when we welcomed our new owner and the honeymoon is coming to an end and reality sets in .. however we do find ourselves with a league one status .. a good manager .. and a good team .. The New stadium will go ahead , when ?? Who knows but as I said patience is what we've learned to aquire . You do have a good stadium that's a fact and ours is what it is .when you follow a club you stand by them through good and bad times .. yes it's frustrating but there ya go .. My thoughts on the season ahead ? We shall end up middish and maybe a few more acquisitions .. I know nothing about your team but understand you've  improved from the way you got yourselves out of trouble last season. . I predict 16th ish .. I am one of the realists who support BRFC and yes I do enjoy the odd bit of banter with you guys as I do with my own red mates ..

Pretty close there I reckon Phil..i have us to finish 15th,you mid table...would be a decent season for both IMO...plenty of ours n' yours that will be pretty unhappy with that,I'm sure!

With information disseminating that Sir Stephen Hamster has banned journalists from asking questions about the UWE Stadium one wonders whether we are back again to the cold sore era when Nikita Higgs imposed his iron fist on media circles as well as squares and rectangles ?

If true this can only mean one thing, either Sir Stephen does not wish to be questioned about the UWE Stadium or Matty Taylor is a mole. Whichever is the case I am sure long standing Rovers fans will be dismayed to learn that the short lived spirit of openness and transparency at the Mem has expired. That once again a shroud of secrecy has descended upon our eclectic cluster of shipping containers and Portakabins heralding no doubt a new age of austerity and oppression.

It doesn’t worry me of course because I have many happy memories of the 1950’s such as celebrating the Suez crisis with Harry and Marina at their dacha just outside Vladiradstock. We knew there was danger of a nuclear holocaust destroying the world but with both City and Rovers sitting pretty in the second division it was a time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Trouble in the Middle East didn’t bother us one bit although it may have done if our ownership structures had been different.

    Yours,

    Tony Blair.

Yes it is Peter, and of course it's named after one of the greatest civil engineers England has ever produced.

As Chairman Stephen Hamster put it so eloquently in his Bristol Post column announcing Rovers latest alternative to the moribund UWE scheme  " If only he was alive today, what better man could there be to design our new 50 000 capacity Great Western Stadium than Isambard Kingdom Risks"

    Risks???

Wael is looking down the back of his sofa now for about £30 million quid...

All he's found so far is a £15k watch.

If there were such a watch down the back of mine(sofa)it would have to belong to the previous owner(of the sofa)....(and the watch).???????

So you'll be happy and think you'll cope if no new signings come in during the summer?

Alternatively, he could spend his trillions building a legoland bowl but he doesn't seem too interested in that either

They will be comfortable in league one..mid table finish won't be a problem-not a big step up,that's for sure!!

    Next season will be.

Charlton, MK Dons and Bolton are gena strengthen that division. Not forgetting the likes of Sheff Utd potentially Barnsley.

Really??..Charlton- the worst side I've seen us play for a while.and Bolton??..league one not that tough and a steady mid-table finish for Rovers..

I guess football is all what if's, buts and maybes and clichés at the end of the day :)

What if Geoff Bradford never broke his leg (or was replaced) and Rovers got promoted to the 1st division, what if you had won the Championship play-off final.

Personally as I have said before I'd rather Rovers and City had a healthy rivalry as high up the divisions as possible. obviously that means success for both teams to  a degree.

By all means,I'm all for a bit of rivalry.. Feel free to join us in the Championship with your new ground..would be two great atmospheres, likely sellouts, bring it on..all you have to do is build the ground and come on up!...sure have no desire to play you blokes in league one.....just don't sadly see you getting here..

Someone on there saying about how mature he is and how much common sense he had and then says that being banned from watching the slags would be as bad as being banned from seeing his kids (who would also be his nieces/nephews I suppose). I'm sure his kids must be overjoyed to know that if he had to choose between the gash and them then he would have to think about it!!! Even worse than the"dog dying" twonk! (Or maybe the same guy!)

But then that forum is full of shite...someone else on there defending the people getting drunk and going over the hoardings saying that after a long week at work some people just like to have a drink and enjoy themselves...HA! Dreamers! Like any of them could find work!

What a dumbass..that's very sad to even read!!..I feel for the children.and his dog!!.they deserve a little more.guess they are crying in their collective porridge today now the gap remains!

Looking at the table if Rovers fail the top 3 route, a game against Wycombe could be on the cards in the play offs, how exciting...

anyway well done John Joe o'Toole for winning a promotion medal against the gas

Mr "the Tool"???...with that name he should have stayed with them.
