  1. I was under the impression that the teaching space that Rovers fans seem to think will make them money was part of the deal ofleasing the land. Do they really believe UWE have basically gave them the land based on just naming rights and then UWE will go on to pay Rovers to lease teaching space on the land they already own? The most like scenerio is that teaching space and naming rights were swapped for a lease on the ground. I believe there is also to be a Sainsburys local there? They will also unlikely recieve no future income from that as that woukd have been tied up in the memorial ground deal so paid in one lump sum. If I was a sag I would be wary on Tescos silence. A huge supermarket being built inbetween their golden hill and eastville stores yet they have remained unusally quiet on this? Very sttange considering Tescos planning fights in the past.
  2. Are Bournemouth not owned by billionaire? Not being funny but your not gonna earn much from non match day income. You have already given that away to UWE.
  3. I still think Tesco will have something to say about this...
  4. I am sure Tesco have provided some of the funding.
  5. Also their failure to back the world cup bid.
  6. Bloody well hope so. Traffic is gonna be a nightmare if their stadium is built. It's bad enough as it is.
  7. Even if they are in a relegation batlle? How much is it costing them to build UWE? I simply can't see how they are gonna be left debt free. Ok they will get 20 odd million for them mem but what about the surplus?
  8. Hahaha the guy scores two but that still isnt enough for some. Get a grip ffs.
  9. Very much reminds me of Tony Thorpe.
  10. you would have to pay for it and make it yourself.
  11. The problems really started when he moved away from Bristol. He wasn't the best of chairman but was certainly better than what we got now. I have always found him to be very approachable.
  12. From what I gather many enjoyed working with him, JET certainly did and that's the reason he came her, where would we be with JET? Your attitude seems to be that you think Bristol City are bigger than we actually are, we need to realise were not a big club and probably not that good at playing football either.
  13. Sod was very popular with the players, they brought into his vision, many only came her because of Sod such as JET, them players have a loyalty to SOD so I wouldn't be surprised if they were annoyed at the board.
  14. Remember how he cried to the media about fearing for his life at Ashton Gate in 96?
  15. Maybe with fickle support like yours the club you should be supporting is the Maylasian Red Dragons?? You seem a perfect fit.
  16. over the top? I don't appreciate my deceased relatives being ill spoken of, you may but I certainly don't.
  17. disrespecting our fans is one thing, disrespecting our sadly departed fans is a completely different matter.
  18. Most probably thought the same about Pulis and he messed this football club right up. Even he later admitted due to his loyalties to rovers he found it very difficult to manage us. To me that was him saying he tried to ruin us on purpose.
  19. I agree with City Loyal, I too would never return to AG or give them a penny of my money again. Bcfc would be gone for me. I have morals, a few wins or promotions wouldn't change them morals, the bloke has said disgusting vile things are our club and supporters, that I could never forgive or get over.
  20. There is only one reason I would not want him at this club and that's because he once said "the only good city fan is a dead city fan" I'm from a family where bcfc runs through our blood, many of my family members are now no longer with us. Holloways previous comments Say to me that he's happy their dead, a couple of less city fans in the world. If he was appointed I would be done with this club. First off I would be down at Ashton Gate within 10 minutes voicing my displeasure. Any City fans that would support his appointment are a disgrace to this club. The guy is absolutely vile and it would turn into another pulis situation.
  21. But how are we ever gonna convince the non bristolians to adopt us as their club whilst we remain at Ashton Gate?? I don't think a redevelopment would be enough to get these people a long. Look at Preston, a fairly decent modern stadium but it just doesn't do enough to convince non regulars to come along. A new stadium will be all over the news, people will be intrigued and will come along and try it out. Look at Brighton, an area you can say is pretty much like ours but since their move to a new stadium their fans base has grew and grew.
  22. or equally it may expose the poor decision the council made?? A decision to build over a war memorial, a decision to put a supermarket in a area that really doesn't need a supermarket. Can you really tell me a Sainsburys is really needed considering there is a tesco, all the shops on glos road and a sainsburys 5 mins away at Stoke Gifford?? Even the most die hard sag head knows trash have a bloody good chance here and as I said previously it wouldn't surprise me if Tesco were their mystery backers and not just with money but Tesco are experts when it comes to planning law and finding loop holes.
  23. apart from the fact that it wouldn't have been in Bristol and if they call a single tiered bowl great then well...
  24. Apart from the fact there isn't an awful lot to do around there, have a pint at the holiday Inn I suppose or do some train spotting at Abbeywood but that's about it. Awful place to put a stadium from a fans perspective.
