  1. Farage's comments on Ukraine will do him no favours. Gives Clegg something to attack and will have the media firmly on his side. Even if he has half a point, his choice of words is such that it can form real ammo against him, and overshadow a (pains me to say this) decent performance last night.
  2. In a thread debating Baldock's conversion rate I would say listing gilt-edged chances missed is a fairly valid argument. I would also say you're calling it self-indulgent bull so as to drag Harry down with you.
  3. Undeniably PSR you have a point; the proof will be in the pudding next season but I don't think there's too much to be worried about yet. When Cotterill made some early murmurings about young players having to prove they are good enough there was some apprehension on here, but Reid, Bryan, Pack, Williams, and even Parish (before his understandable removal) have been included regularly. Whether they will be added to - or whether they even should - from players within the academy, will become clear in time. For my money, the 'mix' that SOD and JL talked about when the pillars were first introduced never really materialised at the start of this season, there were a lot of faces fairly new to this level, and no real sign of a backbone to the side. We now have more of a mix; albeit not the one we wanted from El-Abd, I think it's fair that SC should have expected far more from him. Buying in January is never easy, we will only get a full picture of SC's intentions in the Summer, when the pressure of staving relegation is (for now at least) over.
  4. I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion. Bobby Reid and Joe Bryan have featured in almost all (if not every single) game under SC. Burns has also had more of a look in. He hasn't done a massive amount more than SO'D but his approach hasn't been "quite the opposite".
  5. NickJ single handedly making what should be a fairly strong, coherent argument on SC's good form look childish and pathetic. Quite a talent.
  6. I doubt it, the fact remains that six weeks ago he was missing simple chances. Now he isn't. Well done Sam.
  7. Not really helped by having two players coming for the same ball with him. Cross should never have come in.
  8. Correct. Pearson got royally done after making no attempt to put in any kind of challenge.
  9. I would like to see some statistics balancing the quality of chances we've created this season against other teams. I can't remember us creating this many good chances, or our strikers having as many one-on-ones for a long, long time. Chance conversion percentages & goal tallies on their own only tell half a story.
  10. Oh it absolutely does. If Clarke is starved for service and shooting through a packed box from 20 yards, would you expect the same quality of finishing than from any of the three golden opportunities unmarked Baldock had yesterday? No. You're as bad as those putting our league position only at Baldock's door. The defence have to share the culpability but Baldock must too.
  11. How many of these other chances have you seen Bristol86? Did the other players miss several free headers in the 6 yard box, countless one on ones...? It's not factual, it's an ambiguous statistic. Do you know how many of those chances were clear cut? Do you ****. Open your eyes and see that we have been making more clear cut chances this season than for many years. Partly down to Baldock's very good workrate and movement, it's a shame his finishing in positions of great potential is so shoddy.
  12. That's not what you said, you said we lose 50% of our goals. Only if you're planning on playing with 10 men.
  13. Take him out of the squad and we are playing with 10 men by your logic.
  14. At this point last season he had one league goal fewer than he had before today, but sure.
  15. If he had 20 chances and scored 2 would you be happy? Whether you think he should have scored more or not, this is a BS argument.
  16. Striker missing numerous golden chances doesn't matter.
  17. Why would he replace Flint? He's 5'11".
  18. Have West Ham been relegated already then?
  19. They're the best team in England bankrolled by one of the richest men on earth, with one of the greatest managers in Premier League history & history we could only dream of. With that, off-field stuff falls into place a lot easier.
