  1. All part of the build up for the Battle of the Big Boys next Tuesday.
  2. Agreed, but we really need to tie down those players with contracts that expire at the end of the season. Otherwise January onwards is going to be really tricky.
  3. He’s certainly not getting caring away with a 3-1 win against a team 13th in League One! I haven’t seen the match, so I’m not sure how well we played, but it’s clear Nige expected more and that a step up in performance is needed to get into the ‘first’ team.
  4. From Gaschat: ”Portsmouth were the better team, no question about that, but did they deserve the win? No.” It’s not often that the worst team deserves to win. #gaslogic.
  5. Fantastic determination from every player in the last few minutes to keep a clean sheet, even when the 3 points were assured.
  6. Post after post after post that just agrees with or repeats a previous post. A single thread can have tens of pages, but it gets really difficult to actually find the key points that are being made. If you agree with a post, just use the voting button, and only reply to it if you have a fresh point to make.
  7. Bristol Rovers fined £16,500 by FA for crowd trouble in Scunthorpe promotion game. I’m not sure that this will provide much of a deterrent for one of the richest clubs in the country. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62392726
  8. Why do we need extra segregation when they already have the whole Atyeo stand - and there are 1,500 empty seats in that!
  9. Yorkshire Live suggests ‘ low 5 figures’. https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/tyreeq-bakinson-contract-length-wednesday-24589031
  10. I really can’t believe that Nige is only playing Zak in order to drum up interest in him - this isn’t his MO. If Nige doesn’t like a player, he doesn’t get anywhere near the pitch. Simple as. if he’s playing him, it’s because he wants to how / where he can be used in the team.
  11. R*vers claim the game was sold out, but are then told they need to reduce capacity, so they do this by moving people to other parts of the (sold out) ground. #gaslogic.
  12. I’m afraid that ‘banter’ is part and parcel of the game. At home games it’s not so much of a problem because you can choose to sit in the family section (although even this doesn’t seem to guarantee there isn’t some knobhead swearing and I think these people should be ejected from the section). However, at away games there isn’t a choice where you sit, and hence I sympathise with the OP. Again I would like to think that people would look around them and tone it down if there were young children around, but I accept that this would be optimistic. The option that would help is unreserved seating for away games. I know this isn’t popular with some, but this would allow people to choose to sit in a section which is less likely to be as ‘aggressive’.
  13. I think it was the Frog and Parrot. The beer was called Roger and Out, and was like drinking black treacle. It was on the crawl into town for me when I lived there, so enjoyed their hospitality on many occasions.
  14. Surely there’s room in Doncaster for a fourth club, should the gas be struggling to get the fruit market initiative off the ground?
  15. Have I missed the announcement? What did it say??
  16. Is it just me who will be glad to see the back of this season? I think it’s fair to say we have underperformed this season. A great performance last week gave me some optimism for next season and something to cling to over the close season. I just hope this isn’t destroyed this afternoon. So, I’ll settle for a draw. COYR.
  17. I see that Poland has confirmed that it will refuse to play Russia in a World Cup qualifier. We all know that FIFA will be weighing up the $s before they consider what action to take, so the question is should England also boycott any match with Russia, even if this means disqualification from the World Cup?
  18. Yes, I agree. This is what I said in my original post.
  19. I’ll try one more time… I know how administration works. I know that unsecured creditors are bottom of the list. Under Insolvency Laws, Football Creditors are no different from Non Football creditors. IMO, I do not think it’s fair that the internal rules of a closed shop league should be able to prioritise the interests of their members over other creditors, who in the eyes of the law are of equal standing.
  20. I’m not sure you have explained why Non Football Creditors should take more of the pain of a football club going into administration compared to Football Creditors. You have simply said that it’s not the league’s fault that Derby went into administration. Well it wasn’t St John’s Ambulance’s fault either. I haven’t suggested that the League should pay the debts for ‘these people’, I am just saying there ought to be a level playing field.
  21. Agreed, but my point is that it is not the fault of any other Non Football Creditor either, and yet they are being asked to take more of the pain, whilst other Football Creditors are insulated to a far greater extent.
