  1. Watching Tommy's goal last night, it reminded me more of a counter attack of old

Longish ball up the wing and a quick cross into the box from the byline.

Not a backward pass in sight

This is the sort of service Tommy has been lacking since L M's arrival.

Less “model” more “vision”.  And I think that vision relates more to what players you want than what playing system you are going to use per se.

For a club like us, why constrain yourself to one way of playing?  Just try to develop the best players you can, recruit the best players you can as cheaply as possible…and be relatively flexible in how you use them.

Which Pearson would be far better at than Manning.

It seems odd that we seem willing to change an entire playing squad to suit one manager, than to change a manager to suit a decent playing squad.

Tbh I think he was going regardless of what's happened in the last few months.

This may be true, but surly the lack of goals will only be detrimental to his value, which will ultimately be damaging to us, in the sense we will have less money to replace him with. Which in turn means more sh1te for us fans to watch

  4. In the fallout/carnage of the Nigel Pearson sacking I thought I heard Jon Lansdown admit communication with the fans wasn't very good and they needed/would to do better going forward.

Well, all is strangely silent again from the board/chairman we still seem to hear sweet FA from them.

Tinnion seems to disappear when there is the slightest bump in the road and won't be back on Twitter until we are in the Prem

So, I hope Jon stands by his words and does an interview sometime soon, hopefully without vetting the questions beforehand. I would just like to know what's happening before they ask us to put our hands in our pockets for season ticket renewals

  5. For me, in recent games teams have sussed us out by half time. They have changed/tweaked things around and having taken the lead, sit deep with something to defend.

We on the otherhand have one game plan and one plan only. If it doesn't work Manning seems unable or reluctant to change things (formation wise) our one striker seems lost and isolated, we rarely make runs into the box, so the chances of winning a penalty are very slim.

So, what has gone wrong? I think it's down to our inability to adapt the 'system' when teams have nullified what little threat we possess.

  6. Watching the games recently, we seem to get to half time and the opposition have worked us out, they make tactical changes and implement them in the second half, get the lead and we cannot break them down.

For me, Manning hasn't got the ability to change us tactically if things aren't going to plan. This is a concern. Why we persist with playing one up front, when it's clearly not working is beyond me.

He's like a pit pony, blinkered and can only see in one direction. I'm sure he'll be great coaching a team of robots, but players are human and he seems to lack any sort of man management.

  7. At the time I thought it was a positive that Manning didn't go running straight down the tunnel on the final whistle.

But after hearing his post match interview, he probably thought the boo's were aimed at the players and not at him or the board.

  8. I have idea Liam

Let's play 2 up front, because our strikers look isolated and lost and the moment.

I mean, I can give you the ideas, but whether you take it on board and apply it in the game is a different matter.

    Blimey, I'm sounding like you!

  9. Gotta be honest. I've rather given up on this season.

This not getting too down after a loss and not too high after a win, doesn't go with being a fan of a football club. Emotion is such a large part of it. Take the emotion out and you don't really have a lot left.

They'll be wanting us to renew our season tickets soon, so I hope I can see a modicum of excitement on the horizon before I'm asked to part with my cash.

  10. It's kind of a Catch 22 situation

I would rather wait and see what our intentions are in the summer before renewing ...

.... and City might be looking at the take up rate before spending on the team

But I know what will happen. I will renew nice and early and by September be asking myself "why?"

    Fair play that’s commitment!

70 or 80 that could be online though, saving special trips. Don’t get it.

On the other hand you'd be gutted if you'd dragged your cookies all the way down to the shop only to find they'd all been sold online.
