What the hell is going on with this forum lately? Some of the replies to this poster are bang out of order. This is not the only thread that I’ve seen this stuff on now and I think some people need to get a grip and chill out a bit! I’ve been on this forum for years and we’ve had some big old debates over the years but always without the ‘nastiness’. And before anyone asks, I don’t, and never have, worked for Bristol Sport.

Exactly what someone who works for Bristol Sport would say.

  2. I don’t listen to SOTC. I don’t go to the gate anymore. I can’t bear to support a Lansdown led club anymore. My take is, it doesn’t matter if Manning goes. That won’t help the success of the club in any way. The issue is Lansdown and his mates. They don’t want a manager. Somebody who can run everything on a daily basis. Someone who is experienced and knows how to get the best out of his players. Someone who is in-tune with the fanbase. Someone who may question their integrity and not say yes to everything. Lansdown has proved that.

If Manning goes, who comes in? An experienced manager who can turn things around? No. Another young ‘up and coming’ ‘Coach’. Someone who will conform to the agenda. Somebody who will stay in line and say yes sir. It stinks. The whole club is an absolute joke these days. It kills me to say I have lost heart with the club and won’t return until Lansdown gives Bristol City a chance and sells the club.

  3. Would love to see a mass boycott and only sell 2,000 ST’s. It won’t happen and the Lansdown’s know full well that a bit of spin and bluff in the close season, will still bring the customers in. Rotten club.

Yes, not his fault again. Done all lthe work, given them the tools, step up and be counted, blah, yawn, blah:

He seems very nervous. Doesn’t believe what he is saying. The lack of eye contact is not an admirable trait for somebody in his role. Moving from side to side. Weak vocals. A person who has jumped at the opportunity to increase his wages, but knows he lacks the ability, skill and persona to ‘coach’ (Not manage) at this level.

Manning reeks of cosy, comfortable, average Lansdown’s Bristol City.

I've been a long term supporter of what Steve has done for this club, but it's these recent months which has changed my stance, and probably for good. There's no doubt the man has done fantastic things for our club off the field, but he hasn't got a clue on how to create a winning ethos. Results on the field are the most important, and his history of decision making hasn't been good enough. For the first time I'm actually looking forward to the day we get sold, it's time to roll the dice.

    Only in recent months?

First time you’re looking forward to being sold?

Seriously, Lansdown lost touch years ago. McInnes wasn’t the correct replacement, brought in a load of overpaid, average players and we got relegated. Lee Johnson was here for far too long and was allowed to spend far too much money on average players. A very bloated squad. Lansdown had absolutely no grip on anything and look where we ended up. A financial shambles.

Steve Cotterill wasn’t his choice and look how that went. We brought in the correct players, played unbelievable football, passion amongst the fanbase and absolutely romped league 1. No credit to Lansdown for that.

The one person who was doing well on a nothing budget, trimmed the wage bill, brought a bit of positivity with it, experienced at managing at this level, has been sacked. Purely because Lansdown cannot deal with anybody who dare say ‘no’ to him. He does not know how to have challenging conversations with managers. Yes men only I’m afraid.

As long as Lansdown is at the helm, this club will be a mediocre, unattractive club. Almost a laughing stock to other clubs and fans. The Lansdown/Bristol Sport/cosy, soft image is the sole reason I haven’t been in the last 3 years. I absolutely love Bristol City but I hate the club we have become.
