A great memento for you. I’m not sure I ever got one . That’s a great gesture from the club - makes you wonder how much they usually mark them up in the shop, though, if they can afford to give them away free haha

This is city... You just know it will be! ?

Well the foil flags which looked naff in the stadium on their own but pretty special on the TV worked well but from what's been said it'll be red and white scarves intended to be whirled around our heads for the visuals.

    That’s very 1940s!

p.s. I thought the foil flags looked amazing in the stadium…

    I'm just unsure about Cornick...

Not seeing much at the moment at all, but early days ....

Has all the feel of a 'club in the bag & not seeing where he improves us.

Looking forwards hopefully to changing my view.

Yes early days at the moment. He reminds me a bit of Marley Watkins

Other than taking out Haaland within the first couple of minutes I have no idea, in fact it's a pretty scary prospect now it comes down to it!

I would play Bell, he'll be an unknown to Man City, has real pace and that can always be a problem for any defender. Target John Stones, he's always got a mistake in him. Alex Scott might get a bit more freedom than he's used to against typical Championship midfield thugs.....

I wouldn't recommend it - he's unlikely to be playing

Probably true, but this competition has a long and illustrious history of chucking the form book out of a 16th-floor window.

We’ve absolutely nothing to lose; a full house behind us, on a terrific unbeaten run and against a top, top side who have looked distinctly human recently. We can just enjoy the occasion and if they unthinkable happens it will be our best victory of all time IMHO.

That’s, as they say, the spirit.
Why even bother turning up ? Let’s just give the Citizens a bye and our lads can have the night off.

Fair comments. I just think on today’s evidence (both our game and theirs), the difference in class is just too big. But stranger things have happened.

    I admire your optimism.

Or put it another way, what difference does it make who we pick, when the game will be decided by who they pick?

If they rest a load, we have a squeak. If they rest a load but pick Haaland, we're in trouble. If they pick a half decent team, it'll be like shooting fish in a barrel and won't matter a jot what formation we line up in.

    Anyway, COYR!

I’ve no doubt Man City will field some of their stars - they usually take the domestic cup tournaments seriously. Even if they pick some squad players, the likes of Rico Lewis and Cole Palmer are brilliant.

Easy, to be honest can you name 9 better? I think top 3. Incredible turn of form and really happy for the lad, can only benefit England

Are we talking strikers or players in general?

Reminds me of the least reassuring thing I ever heard said by a man in a position of power. Flying into Edinburgh in 70mph crosswinds, we circled the airport twice before the pilot came on the tannoy with "Well, the two flights in front of us have pulled out of their landings, but I think we can make it in" ?

We landed, one wheel at a time, but we landed.

Imagine being on board when this happened…

    Surprising.

So we have 27,000 tickets, 4,000 of which is Man City.

That means 23,000 to City, and we have 16,000 season ticket holders.

So 4,000 members with 4+ home games this season? Seems high?

That’s assuming every single season ticket holder buys a ticket, which I’d say was unlikely

That both Johnson’s were crap at as was SC. All of them subjected to scorn by those under them. We very rarely, if ever hear negative comments about Nige.

I find that hard to believe. There was an incredibly positive feeling around the club when SC was in charge, and the players seemed to really like him. Besides, you simply can’t be a poor manager and achieve what SC and GJ achieved. For me, NP has a long way to go yet

The bottom line is that football fans are a fickle bunch. Their dedication wavers depending on results and exactly why we saw so many criticising Nige when he was struggling to sort out the shambles left by LJ and Ashton.

Some of us appreciated that and also that he has a three year project in which time he’d be able to build a team capable of becoming a serious threat in the Championship with a mix of youth and experienced players.

Now in just 18 months he has changed the entire culture which was essential to enable the playing squad to feel ‘at home’ within the new healthy club culture.

I’ve said it before but Nige really is a proper manager. Head an shoulders above all the previous managers in the last 30 years.

Based on what - his achievements at other clubs?

Me too. Managed to buy for a family member even though they have only bought tickets for two games this season (she's been to more, but they have been spare ST's of friends)

    How is that possible?

And the third one is - know who you’re interviewing.

Thats not to say a journo has to tread on eggshells around Nige either, just because he has “form”.

He reminds me of my old RE / Careers teacher at school.  Very strict, you didn’t piss around in his lessons, you didn’t forget to do your homework or hand it in late, you had to have your shirt tucked in, tie tied properly (no peanuts!) and top button done up. Yet you did all those things with other teachers if you wanted to.  When I started work he was a customer, and he was very different, he’d basically created this strict aura around him at school which wasn’t him at all, but he wanted his pupils to learn, not just the subject but how to conduct themselves.

So it is fine to ask challenging questions, it is fine to stop him when he’s not answering the question you asked.  But Mickey Mouse Qs like we haven’t won in 11 v Norwich aren’t gonna cut it.

I suppose he was never gonna tell you to do your top button up as a customer ?
