I don't play fantasy football and worked out what you meant, don't sweat it
There was another screenshot I was trying to add which would have made it make sense but it wouldn't load. Ah well.

Edit: Ignore this, tried to make a fantasy football reference but didn't quite pan out as I hoped

How can we so often seem to do the hard stuff but then do terribly at the easy stuff?
Save a pen, but then concede right afterwards anyway

50 points is almost always enough to stay up, so 44 at this stage in the season means we should be pretty safe.
But the word 'should' is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. We really haven't looked like a team that can bank on a few more wins in the last few games.

I remember a few years ago there was that situation with the false alarm 'bomb' at Old Trafford which saw the last game of the season cancelled, but none of the other games were affected, they just went ahead as usual, so Man Utd & Bournemouth got to play their final game of the season a few days after everyone else. Don't think it was relevant for any relegation/European spots though.

Should get a big allocation considering the size of the stadium right? Haven't been there since the Olympics

Tbf the more I think about it I say good luck to him. Can't say I blame him for taking the opportunity to at least put himself in contention to go to the Euros next summer.
But it is a little bizarre though considering he has over 50 youth caps for England.

Hasn't he played in every age group for England bar the seniors?
He was captain of the 2017 Under-19 Euros winning team.

So hands up, after 144 appearances for us, who else had absolutely no idea he was even eligible for Wales?

The Oxford club statement is worth a read
https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2023/november/club-statement-liam-manning-departs/
Didn't even include a customary "Thanking him for his work during his time at the club". Oof!

Did you look at them quizzically and retort “15th? We’re going up mate!” ?
I did but he correctly reminded me I say that every year

It seems a little unusual to leave a team in 2nd place with a good chance of getting promotion. It would be a nice addition to his CV to gain a promotion with Oxford.
My flatmate is an Oxford fan and this is his line of thought.
"I can't understand why you'd leave a promotion chase for a team that will probably finish 15th in the championship for the 10th year in a row"
The money we're offering must be good.

Given some of the other names that have been thrown about on here in the past week, I could think of worse appointments.
But I don't see how this is an improvement on Pearson.

Can't recall the fanbase being this united on anything ever. Does ANYONE think this is a good move?

That was probably the toughest fixture of the season. Nothing to be ashamed of there.

Just me has this been 3 pretty dire play off finals
The finals are usually cagey, especially compared to the semi finals

Have we ever had all 3 play off finals go to penalties ? Gotta be close to happening on basis of the first half !
The Conference play-off final went to penalties as well

Adriano Basso hasn't aged much

I live in Cardiff so quite a lot of my friends and neighbours are Cardiff fans.
I don't know a single person who thinks their club have approached this in the right way. The reputational damage they've done to themselves has been so much worse than simply paying the money 4 years ago would have been.
And this only 24 hours after they managed to stay up purely because of another club's points deduction. Absolute mess of a club.

Am I right in remembering when it all started to go financially wrong for them back in the early 2000*s, it was our match at their place they chose to stage a huge protest against their board at?
Anyway, let them have their moment. Well done and all that jazz and then hopefully Notts County will win the play offs.
I fully expect Wrexham to do the double promotion as a lot of clubs coming out of the National league tend to do and then we'll see how the Hollywood story goes. League 1 is a different reality these days.
I expect them to get promoted again too but you're right about League 1 being the level where it'll get a lot tougher.
If you look at the stature of the clubs in the top half (Sheffield Weds, Ipswich, Derby, Charlton, Portsmouth etc) vs those at the bottom (Forest Green, Morecambe, Accrington Stanley) it's a pretty big chasm.

I do find stuff like this pretty extraordinary though. I'm not sure I've ever seen National media so biased towards one club...
Bolton or Oxford? Oxford Promoted

Didn't realise they have VAR in the play off finals
