  1. No it wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at people who use such terms to describe an entire football club. I know we have often disagreed quite vociferously in the past, but I get the impression you're a decent bloke. Well apart from being one of they Tedzzz like.
  2. Read my other posts. A lot of football fans are *******, who they support is irrelevant. Yes the same would probably happened at Rovers.
  3. I have! Now I've got my hopes right up!
  4. I would say come on whoever you are playing this weekend, but I've no clue who it is! If it's any consolation, I 've been really pissed off that you have been utter dog shite this season, yet been in absolutely no danger of going down! I do hope we get to play you -and win- at least once more in my lifetime, although that is looking increasingly unlikely , not that I'm dying or anything, just that we are ******* light years apart! Anyway, if we do beat you any time soon, all you dirty red ******* are getting the beers in
  5. I agree that if Rovers had found themselves in City's position in 82 they would probably act the same. By the same token, City would probably have acted in the same way Rovers did. What I find frustrating is when a club is labelled as 'scum' or 'vile' by another set of supporters because of actions taken by a few people years ago. I'm not talking specifically about 82 here either or about Rovers and City. I like rivalry, it can be fun, I really do want City to lose every game , but you will never hear me saying City fans are scum or whatever, because that's patently nonsense. Some Rovers fans are dicks, so are some City fans, so are some Rangers fans, so are some Celtic fans, so are some Borehamwood fans etc etc, Like I said, rivalry can be fun, vitriol and hatred is depressing and pathetic.
  6. Rovers acted disgracefully? Yeh okay, you don't think the board at the time might have been ever so slightly guilty of running the club into the ground and shitting on their own players? City have done a great PR job lately of promoting the Ashton Gate 8 as heroes, when in reality they were treated like shite - and feel free to ask any of those 8 how a fair few City fans turned on them. Not many people come out of the 1982 debacle with much credit, but this rewriting of history painting Rovers as the bad guys is utter nonsense. You say I'm lucky to post on here? You have said that a few times before. Why should anyone be lucky to be 'allowed' to post on a public forum? If the Rovers forum bans City fans who post sensibly, I agree that's pretty petty minded, but if it's as bad a forum as you say it is (I don't use it) why would you want to go on there anyway? I'm a pretty fair minded bloke and In The Net seems similar, . The moment either of us come on here consistently crowing after a Rovers win or City defeat, then we would probably deserve a ban, but as for being lucky in being 'allowed' to express an opinion, no, I don't agree.
  7. As a Swindonian, did you often have cause to drive down the M32 on a Friday night then?
  8. I would say he was far from being the catalyst, just an exceptionally good addition to a team that were already on fire - in fact there didn't seem to be much to see about him in his first few games. Rovers are a really, really good side to watch at the moment, any neutral who likes to see attacking football, played at pace and on the deck would be impressed. The elephant in the room is the loan players and those whose contracts are up. Taylor and Elliott Anderson have been outstanding, we have zero chance of Anderson being here next season and only a very slim chance of hanging onto Taylor for another year although I suppose there is a chance we could sign Connolly . I will be surprised if Evans, Collins and possibly Nicholson are still with us next season. That rips a huge whole in the team. Our only real signing has been Ryan Loft, who admittedly got an early injury in his Rovers career, but when he has played has looked way off the pace, to the extent that there was a 'jokey' chant about celebrating if he scored when he came on yesterday- which of course he did! To be fair to him, he did take it well and maybe it will be a catalyst for better things from him. So while I am really enjoying football at the moment, I wouldn't fret too much. If we do go up, I think we will hit some serious problems, and I can't see Barton hanging around risking a second relegation on his CV. My own prediction is that we will fail against Northampton in the play offs after Barton slagging them off after our recent win there. I think they will be more than up for playing us, whereas others will see us as the team to avoid.
  9. I don't think punditry is for him, he was dull as ditchwater.
  10. Mate, these people are not your friends, stop trying to ingratiate yourself with them. Remember... AIDEN SAID NO!
  11. It was about some stickers being against the #hergametoo initiative , designed to encourage women to attend football matches. Quite why anyone would be against women going to football is beyond me. Maybe they're worried the women will steal their virginity.
  12. I have my son's AEK Boco goalkeeper top from about 15 years ago signed by Geoff Hurst. I will take substantially less than £4 million for it.
  13. He always seemed to be such an immense player for you, I was shocked when I saw him play for Middlesbrough at the Riverside at the amount of stick he got from home fans.
  14. Shouldn't you support Bridgwater Town ?
  15. It may have been for rugby, but it was always less for football. I had a spare ticket and had a crowd of people trying to buy it off me. And there were people trying to get vantage points outside the ground. I'm not claiming getting 10k for a friendly against Manchester United is any great shakes, but there were plenty of people (mostly local United fans) trying to get tickets in the days before the game.
  16. If you mean by premium, still in their sell by date, then yes, you are correct.
  17. No, that's not the case. About 3 seasons ago Rangers decided to sell season tickets in the Broomloan Road stand which had in the past, been given over in it's entirety to Celtic whenever the clubs played at Ibrox , reducing Celtic's allocation to 700 from 8000. Celtic responded in a tit for tat measure and Covid regulation complications saw a few of the games being played with no away support present. It's a shame, I have been to many of the games and a large away support always makes for a cracking atmosphere. Alas , now both club sell season tickets in the traditional away ends, I can't see there being large away support for a long time. No, that's not the case. 19. The original was in Stapleton Road. Pedantic Gas
