  1. It was- Design Windows was when you had Hirerite. I have no idea why I remember shite like this.
  2. The same supporter organised Portugal for supporters this year.
  3. Rovers have worked with Thorntons for years. I love the draw for the shirt sponsor, what on earth is wrong with local businesses being involved with their local football team?
  4. Only 3 go down in the Championship, so there is statistically a higher chance of getting relegated from League 1, so there is indeed some value in it. Send me a tenner and I will give you 10/1.
  5. Not tempted by the 9/2 offered against City?
  6. I'm guessing arithmetic wasn't your strong point at school
  7. I honestly don't know, but I do think successive promotions make him a good judge of a player which is surely what a managers job is - or at least should be- rather than making a profit.
  8. We did lose to Tranmere back when they were a league side and we weren't All joking aside, getting knocked out of the cup by non league sides doesn't even register with me any more it's happened that many times. I wasn't at Hayes but I remember being stunned at that defeat, but I was at Kettering and Hitchin and was absolutely mortified for days after. Is it me or is it generally more common place these days, cup shocks ain't what they used to be!
  9. Yep, our under 21s with no players with any first team experience did indeed draw with Yate Town on the same weekend that a City team with several first teamers in hammered a, ahem, very strong Guernsey side 1-0
  10. I'm actually starting to get confused about it myself, I didn't realise Peterborough were now putting it about that we put in a bid for him, which seems very odd because at the end of the season Clarke said we wouldn't be looking to sign him. I think the people at Posh have put out a couple of strange stories, I think their chairman may enjoy getting people at it. Luke James had lots of chances to shine at Rovers, and the crowd stuck with him, but I think the moment his teammates encouraged him to take a penalty he clearly didn't want to take which he subsequently missed, we all realised it just wasn't going to happen for him. Obviously he will now go on to score 30 next season for FGR and get the winner against us when we draw them in the cup.
  11. I think all you can really do is compare yourself with teams you play against. I'm pretty honest about Rovers, sometimes- and in very recent history- we have been a really, really bad side to watch. However, in the past 3 years or so we have been a really good side to watch. I would say any neutral coming along to see us in the past couple of seasons would enjoy watching us. Football- like most things- goes in cycles though, and things can change very quickly.
  12. We didn't want him. Who wants a striker who never scores? Mind you- you signed Matty Taylor
  13. At least Christian did occasionally score.
  14. Missed a couple of words there! That should have read 'No one can condone what she has done and she has lost her home in paying it all back'
  15. It really is a terribly sad case. I don't know her incredibly well, but she has been around the club for years and Rovers were a huge part of her- and her husbands- life. Obviously no one can condone what she has lost her home in paying it all back and I imagine that she will regret her actions every day for the rest of her life.
  16. They had the ground, the membership didn't want to move there, it caused a few ructions I can tell you.
  17. I really don't know what to say , other than I promise you , while there may have been talk of a move to Bish, the original plan was to move to Almondsbury, it caused quite a big rift amongst some Dings members. We even employed ex Rovers director Martin Flook to help get the move through.
  18. it wasn't, it was the Almondsbury site that Rovers just bought, I went to the meetings and everything!
  19. Dings were happy with it, and the deal was in effect done several years ago, when the original plan was for Dings to move to the land that Rovers have just bought for their training facilities.
