I don't think you will find many Rovers fans who actually think the stadium is still going to be built. It really is just about trying to get some compensation to hopefully get us out of the financial mire, and I'm not even confident of that.

If any of you want tips on the best pubs etc. around Telford let me know

I will still believe it when I see it. I have watched Rovers for 40 years and for 30 of those they have been about to move to a new ground. I see TRASH have 7 days to appeal, and Nick Higgs has mentioned in his statement that the delay has cost time and money, and that this means that there will now be contractual issues to sort out. Apart from that, I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to new football grounds, and talk of 'new revenue streams' always leaves me a bit cold. You can't stop progress, and I will go along with it, but give me a stadium and pitch like the Baseball Ground circa 1974 anytime!

If it's any consolation, this thread reads exactly like the ones on the Rovers forum when we are playing

I think calling it Post Modernist Irony might suggest I put a lot of thought into it! I just thought of his name when I signed up, maybe I'm still having sub concious nightmares about him now. He did score a hat trick for us once btw, against Swansea. The hat trick goal was loosely described as a header at the time, but the ball actually hit him on the back of the head and went in, which seemed quite appropriate.

Well yes, I did think so on the night too, but then I never understand piss taking chants during a game (You're not singing any more etc), far better to cheer on your own side during the 90 minutes, and after the final whistle take the piss all you want (or run on the pitch and chuck coins of course )

I'm not sure tbh. I'm one of the seemingly (very) tiny minority of fans who prefer older grounds in urban areas, so I'm not overly fussed either way.
