  1. As most have said - a great pro, who never gave less than everything he had on and off the pitch. Came back better from a serious ACL injury, one fabulous season, but important contributions and goals in many games. It is probably a good deal for both player and club at this time - but I find it hard not to feel a little bit sad, when one your favourite players of recent times leaves. So glad he got to 50 goals for the club. Good luck Andi (unless playing against us ofc!)
  2. That opinion comes across so strongly in their forum, that I think, if by some miracle they did get promoted, their "forum expectations" would be getting to the Championship playoffs at least. While any club doing "a Luton" is a possibility, it really is the exception. I hope if they did get promoted, they'd follow the Yeovil model.
  3. It is factually correct as well as historically correct. Of course BOTH fixtures feature a mid table championship club - does he somehow think that they are an equal attraction to West Ham? Pretty obvious why they choose our fixture for TV
  4. 15% of 61000 is 9150 I hope Liverpool tell them to F off
  5. So they think they need a stand with more seats than their highest average seasonal attendance in 41 of the last 44 seasons. "Build it, and they won't come"
  6. Oh looky here - a few wins and BS comes out of hiding again! Sorry, I must have missed the communication from the EFL, but Is there now some speical trophy awarded for wining matches against the top 2 in a season? Is it actually more relevant at the end of the season than victories against the (randomly chosen) 7th and 18th placed teams if you don't actually win promotion? I think it's probably just the case that your poxy club has absolutrely nothing that matters better than its equivalent at Bristol City and you and your fellow gasheads constantly try and search for any angle to make yourselves still seem relevant. Always in our shadow. The last time I checked the league table included ALL results, and the fewers are still 9 points outside the playoff spots despite their good recent form. But fine, knock yourself out, go ahead and crank one out while deluding yourself into thinking this the year you get promoted. You will be back to getting rinsed by massive clubs like Exeter, Burton and Fleetwood soon.
  7. Indeed a record of P24 W17 D4 L3 for their remaining games would tie Barnsley's currently predicted haul - the issue being they dont often win 17 games in an entire season at league one level (just 3 times this century so far) I cannot claim credit for the table it was found on once of those footy stats sites
  8. What was this "something" that the reporter saw? Here is what I see: A mid table side averaging 1.41 ppg so far this season have slightly improved in the last 8 games to 1.5 ppg. Based on thier current "iconic" form of 1.5 ppg they are ahead of Lincoln City, and Oxford Utd in the form table and level with Blackpool, but BEHIND every other team in the top ten of league one and Northampton just below them. So based on the current form ppg, games left and total points acrued so far: Bristol Rovers would STILL lose further ground to Portsmouth, Peterborough, Bolton, Derby, Stevenage, Barnsley and Northampton. Bristol Rovers would make up ground on Lincoln City (gaining 8.88 pts) passing them, stay level pegging with Blackpool points difference wise, and make up a small amount of ground on Oxford United (gaining 2.88 pts). Their form has to be a lot better consistently to push for playoffs, the 12 point gap to make up is quite big conisdering the teams aorund them are likely decent. While you cannot rule it out you would not be gambling on this with any confidence. Also their GD needs to improve as if that was a decider they are a long way off the teams genuinely in playoff contenton in league one.
  9. Might explain their poor performance if they were wearing a poor choice of undergarment for championship football. Also spellcheck has betrayed your usual conversations there @SecretSam
  10. Knighty superb too. Intercepted so many passes (especially first half) he was probably the most involved player for both sides.
  11. I didn't mind ipswich until Ashton went there: However combine that with some of their smug fans (remember them thinking they could get alex scott for £7m?) and now I hope the wheels fall off in spectacular fashion starting with permanent 3.5 year multi million pound deals for both of the useless t*sspots above.
  12. The local media should really challenge this sort of BS, it seems to get regularly spouted by whichever cretin they are currently calling their manager. In the FIFTY SEVEN seasons since 1966 they have had a larger average attendance in only one season (in 1983); At this time their manager was most likely having to have his nappy regularly changed! However he should never let facts get in the way of a good soundbite to try and appease the dribbling morons they call fans after being turned over by mighty Crawley.
  13. If anyone has a spare ticket going please DM me here - I live in Southampton a short-ish walk from St Marys. and was unable to secure a ticket myself.
  14. Was it Carl Shutt that tripped celebrating a goal and headbutted the advertising hoardings in front of the East end? maybe non-intentional but sort of iconic
  15. If ever there was a game where both teams deserved to lose this was it Possession is nothing without any sort of a cutting edge. We looked devoid of ideas in the final third, QPR arguably even worse up front.
  16. Some sobering thoughts.... Lampard might be the sort of manager to help attract investement? What if the infamous "nest egg" was not to be saved, but was actually to be handed to the next manager with a view to having another push towards PL (with a few more restarints than LJ/MA days)
  17. Something I am finidng hard to reconcile: The SL only wants a "yes man" narrative, and SL's obvious success as a buisnessman. It is almost inconceivable that he was an instrumental part of building a multi billion pound business WITHOUT employing at least a few people that he didn't see eye-to-eye with, or a few people in areas in which he himself had no skills. Just to be clear the yes man argument on the face of it appears strong (hence me being conflicted). but I do wonder if there is something more to this...
  18. This last sentence cannot be liked enough!
  19. The prophet joe strikes again - utter cretin!
  20. "Keith stroud" "pretty sound" ? Two phrases you never expect to read in the same paragraph. We can only hope it holds largely true until 5pm.
  21. He could also have been fuming at the utter ineptitude of the ref? I missed his substitution and reaction when watching (probably checking otib). But he was one of several players getting righly pissed off with the refs "decisions".
  22. When this happened with Bailey Wright I seem to recall that he was banned for the weekend game. I suspect this to follow the same path.... Bailey's current club in Singapore are preparing for his absence
  23. Ironically is not a foul in rugby too? - tackling a player without the ball
