  1. The 2023/2024 EFL Season starts on August 5th; So they could be at home that weekend or 12th August (and possibly have an EFL cup game that week/before?). This is less than 6 months (actually 172 days) from now until 12th August. Even assuming they have put in ALL the work ahead of an imminent planning application (and I must have missed the social media post asking retired architects to design a stand for free!) - They still have to wait for approval, contract a company to build this "stand" and build said structure. I think the chances of it being something most fans in the football league call a proper stand (e.g. a permanent concrete structure with concourse, turnstiles, toilets etc) are slim to none. With the news they have not got their Fruit Market/Pipe dream stadium I am now guessing whatever crap they hurriedly put up over the summer will be used for a long time to come. Altogether now "We g0t R stay-deEUm, We g0t R stay-deEUm, We g0t R stay-deEUm!"
  2. Sunderland were clearly trying to shithouse at that point we got the penalty - They had a player down in the box "injured" and the keeper giving verbals to Sykes who was protecting the penalty spot. Nahki I think was away from all of that. I dont lip read but as the penalty is nearly ready to be taken the keeper backs away - I think Sykes said to the keeper something along the lines of "Very nice but I'm not the one taking it", as he handed the ball to Wells wiith a big smile.
  3. The implication here being that the gas are actually better than Ipswich? 19pts and 35 (THIRTY FIVE) difference in goal difference would say this is not the case. They have a self centred view of the world even North Korea would find embarasing!!
  4. Despite claiming to be a "professional" Joey seems to not know the laws of the game. Careless, reckless, using excessive force “Careless” means that the player has shown a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or that he acted without precaution. • No further disciplinary sanction is needed if a foul is judged to be careless “Reckless” means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, his opponent. • A player who plays in a reckless manner must be cautioned “Using excessive force” means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent. • A player who uses excessive force must be sent off Charging an opponent The act of charging is a challenge for space using physical contact within playing distance of the ball without using arms or elbows. It is an offence to charge an opponent: • in a careless manner • in a reckless manner • using excessive force Given the players arm is at shoulder height/above, and he appears to be aiming the elbow at the head of the completely unprotected keeper, this looks every bit as it satisfies both careless and reckless. Given also he is jumping, leads with his elbow and knows the keeper is there I think you can easily argue excessive force. I guess the secret to being Joey Barton is to genuinely not give a toss about anyone but yourself....... Vile player Vile Managaer VIle Club
  5. Exclusive pictures from Horfield of the BRFC "promotion bus" I think it is suffering a bit from Joey using it to throw players under after every match.
  6. Hard to really see.. but is it a cheapshot elbow to a defenseless goalkeeper? I wonder who in their club could have taught him to act like such a thugish coward?
  7. Every player emptying the tank every match at the moment. The team spirit is immense. Win, lose or draw its hard to fault anyone today.
  8. That fan was totally channelling his inner Derby fan - Simon Jordan made him look stupid,
  9. Am i reading this correctly? The gas head in question reckons: 1) They have had four sellouts already - THIS IS JUST A LIE The current capacity of the piss-porial is 9,832 They were close with Exter (9,735) and Cheltenham (9,649) so maybe give them those as "sell outs" even though a few hundred short Other than that they had over 9K for plymouth (9,258), Forest Green (9.064), Cambridge (9,007) - but these are all 500+ short of a "sell out" 2) They could have sold the capacity of the memorial ground PLUS 10K? for their "big games" - UTTER FANTASY Their last home crowd of 19K would have surely been at Eastville - their last game their was 1986 So its been at least thirty five years since they had a home crowd that size - its probably more like 50 years (I cba to look for that info)
  10. give yourself a pat on the back!
  11. In relatively recent history we have seen a number (or should that be most?) of the current England midfielders playing in the championship against City while young/developing. Kalvin Phillips(Leeds), Mason Mount(Derby), Jack Grealish(Villa), James Madison(Norwich), Jude Bellingham (Brum) Alex Scott appears to be right up there with all of those performance level wise, probably at a younger age than all of them except Bellingham.
  12. Here's hoping they get absolutely rinsed and MK give it back in equal measure...
  13. Hes looking into a job mucking out cows with his hands - pays 2p a week
  14. I have seen some people express the hope that he goes to a big PL club and gets loaned back to us for next season. The issue is that when he does go to a PL club I think they will look at him not as someone to "develop" but likely as a first team contender, if not a starter. He's not the finished article but he is already begining to make quite a few opposition championship players look like chumps. He's really too good for this level.
  15. wasn't there some guy that was drawing these a while back? Genuionely hope if it is an "official product" (i,e. sold in whatever portaloo they use for a shop now) that they licensed it
  16. I made a handy chart previously to cover this. Two rows for us - One all time and the other post 1982 Either way we have a much less empty trophy cabinet
  17. From everything you read he seems to have been a model pro, and a very smart and likeable chap. I don't doubt he will be missed by people at City, but the sad thing is no-one is immune to the advance of time in their playing career. I think even his strongest supporters would admit he looked a bit like he was struggling with the pace and overall physical demands of championship/professional football when playing this season. The club cannot afford to be too sentimental about these things. I expect that given what people are saying in this thread we will not have heard the last of him and he may well move in to coaching in some capacity.
  18. Maybe not one Swindon supporter, but two could as they'd each have 17.5 digits
  19. Hard to colour in your books, when you ate your crayons.
  20. Calling it now.... Assuming Scott plays (not injured or suspended) - Win or lose at the final whistle Pep will seek him out and chat to him.
  21. He seemed to be pushed up to play up front later on - he looked a bit lost at that point. Up until that point he was very very good
  22. I would guess Scott will be going to a side A LOT better than WBA currently are. He will surely be looking at top half of premier league?
