  1. Firpo and Ake's are lucky to get in ahead of Bell's second. Firpo's is really assist of the round and Ake's is just a shot really - and isn't nearly as good as Bell's first. I doubt either of Bell's would win it, but I'd probably have one of them in at the expense of either of those two.
  2. They might even do an actual full match report on our game for once.
  3. National Hot Chocolate Day is always an exciting day.
  4. I mean there's no "would" about it. But hypothetically would you really let people buy a +1 for their 7 year old? It's not going to happen. It'll be one per ST, then members, then general sale. Fair on the aways fans. I couldn't remember if it was 10% or 15%. In my opinion first priority should go to those who bought for Swansea, but I know that's never a popular opinion.
  5. Rotates against Bournemouth surely? Indicative date, real date tbc.
  6. Not quite. We have about 13,300 STholders this season. About 4,000 of which are U19 1,000 or so are U25, and about 8,000 are full adult or 65+. The rest are player comp or other minority categories. So assuming only the 9,000 adult and U25 STs could buy a +1 and assume 2,700 away fans, then you'd still be a few thousand under if everyone did.
  7. Not looking like Pep will need to rest players for us.
  8. Presumably The One Show will keep their powder dry and save the draw until near the end of the show?
  9. Pretty much the only ways we break even without player sales are a) promotion or b) a new deal between the EFL and PL that gives us more cash. Most Championship clubs spend at least 100% of income on wages. Per our latest accounts - which cover last season - we are currently spending around 140% of our turnover on wages (down from about 200% in recent seasons). Turnover (at football club level - so excluding stadium income) was £16.65m, wages were £23.8m*. To break even we'd have to get that % well below 100% in order to allow us to cover other overheads and costs. *Down £6.4m from £30.2m in the previous season - a 21% reduction.
  10. Not really him doing that though is it. Whenever he speaks he mentions the heritage of the club, the town, the fans. I don't think he's doing it for the image boost. I think you're the first person to mention him on here tonight.
  11. Tell who I really don't want - Wrexham. That particular spotlight can do one.
  12. Guys, lay off. The Gas only publish accounts for a small company. It's unfair to expect either of their fans to know any of these tough financial questions. Before you ask a "small company" must meet at least 2 of the following conditions: 1. annual turnover must be not more than £10.2 million 2. the balance sheet total must be not more than £5.1 million 3. the average number of employees must be not more than 50. Given they're a football club, it's unlikely they qualify for number 3 above. So deduce from that what you will.
  13. Full 90 minutes should be up on the OS in the next day or so. Man City and Arsenal have their game on their sites, and we have the Swansea home game up.
  14. I'd been thinking similar. I don't think Semenyo reacts quickly enough to get to the loose ball in the box for the first either. I don't think he returns the low corner either. As you say, Semenyo may well have scored two other goals, but Bell did things that Semenyo wouldn't do. Just based on what I've seen this month I think Bell is the cleverer footballer and has a greater degree of instinct and finesse.
  15. All getting a bit hype now isn't it.
  16. Thank you for your interest. Hopefully I can explain clearly what this is. Firstly it's an initiative by a group called Fair Game. It's nothing official from the EFL, FA, or Premier League, or any other football body. The aim is to rate and rank the top two divisions. The ratings are across four sectors: financial sustainability, governance, fan engagement, and equality. Each club gets a score in each of those areas, and those four scores are added together to give a total out of 100. Bristol City have scored 46.6. The idea comes from a desire to see football's riches, and in particular the TV money, distributed in a way that encourages clubs to do well in these four areas. It's a proof of concept at this stage, and no money is being spread around in this way. However, it is supported by some of the people involved in the fan led review and those who will be involved in the creation of the new independent regulator, so we might see it used in some capacity one day. Currently though it's a curiosity.
  17. The current management/recruitment team haven't had the benefit of an academy sale yet though. Semenyo is the first major sale for a while. Really the last time we sold an academy (is Semenyo truly an academy product? It's up for debate) player for proper money was Kelly in May 2019. That's 3.5 seasons ago. Reid and Bryan were the season prior to that...and really that's it. So yes in the past you can make the criticism in your third point, but I think you need to hold fire and see what happens to the proceeds from Semenyo, and ultimately from Scott and anyone else (do you want to track Towler's proceeds?). Furthermore, Vyner and O'Leary are two academy products who we are enjoying, and who are seemingly staying with us (subject to contract extensions) and are currently key first team players, so it's not true that every academy lad gets sold to Bournemouth and Fulham.
  18. Enjoyable. People often say a young footballer "speaks so well", but honestly he speaks so well. Visibly delighted for Bell, and some lovely and encouraging words about Francois at the end. Also some self-reflection that belies his 19 years. Bellingham speaks with incredible maturity for a young man, and Scott echoes that.
  19. There's nothing false about time though, and time isn't tied to the moon, earth or sun. If any or all of those three celestial bodies ceased to exist then time would continue. It wouldn't continue for us, we'd all die, but time as a whole, as a facet of the universe, that would carry on. The lunar or solar calendar are just ways to describe time based on our interpretation from our observation point on this planet. Days, months and years are useful, but they don't define time in any way at all.
  20. "And Belly, Scotty, Marlee...make sure you bring your Rolexs"
  21. But all of those things are simply man-made markers used to describe and give context to the inexorable decay of the universe that we call time and the entropy that defines the direction of time's arrow. Assuming that the two times you describe are at the same point relative to now then the match would be happening at the same time, all that changes is whatever man-made method of description you use. And that's all a clock does as well, it just describes time in a way that humans can perceive. And that is why it doesn't matter one jot if a person uses a digital, analogue, water or other type of clock so long as they can interpret time in a manner sufficient to take part in society.
  22. Well selfishly Leicester away would be a very easy game to get to. But yeh winnable at home is the way to go.
