  1. Lots of teams have home fans behind both goals, and lots of teams have away fans behind a goal. All of these teams win and lose games at home. Just off the top of my head you've got teams like Brentford who managed to be the darlings of the division and achieve a promotion whilst having away fans on a terrace breathing right down the back of their goalie for 45 minutes every home game. Home form that season was won 12, drew 9, lost just 2 scoring 39 and conceding 20. Not bad. Then there's the likes of Wolves who stick away fans at the side of the pitch and can barely score a goal at all. If someone can demonstrate a causal link between the placement of away fans and home results then brilliant. But I would be very surprised if anything like that could ever be demonstrated. As for home form generally. Results will come. Performances have been alright and we're taking shots and on average are generating net positive xG. Both Stoke and Sheff Utd were games that on another day we would win. It'll come. Just keep supporting and be patient. We're not going down.
  2. Ah...yes...well exceptions could of course be made. Although Infantino did specify "stadium" so we would have to do some due diligence to make sure that the Mem qualifies.
  3. The company that owns Pele's intellectual property - and therefore would control the use of his name as part of any stadium name - is a client of mine. This won't happen.
  4. Both on not far off +1 GD per game. Yeh they're going up.
  5. Does this go in the file of "Weird statements from lower league chairmen"? I think probably yes it does. Published 6 hours ago as a follow up to the main story that @Lanterne Rouge alludes to.
  6. So it looks like they did launch the token, and about 5,000 have been sold. Some people could have bought more than one though. Currently the "value" is about US$50, but the main thing was that holding a token gave you the ability/right to vote on stuff that the owners let you vote on. From what's happening at the club now, it's likely safe to assume that this has gone poorly. A little more here, again from summer. The catch with this sort of thing is normally that you don't buy the token with cash. Generally you have to buy a certain crypto currency, of which the token issuing company/people will own a lot of, and then you have to use that crypto currency to buy the token. In this way the sale of the tokens inflates the value of that crypto currency, and so increases the wealth of the owners. It's not dissimilar to old pump and dump share scams that were popular back in the 90s (see Wolf of Wall Street).
  7. The one a few pages back. Or search @forzaeastenders on Instagram.
  8. This is from the summer. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2022/jun/09/web3-in-league-two-crawley-town-and-the-crypto-bros “A lot of the world whether it be football, sport crypto or whatever is living a more digitally native life,” says Johnson. “We think there’s an opportunity for the remote fan to attach themselves to a club as a result. We want to offer unprecedented access to local as well as remote fans and technology gives us that ability to do it in a way that hasn’t been done before. That’s the macro vision.” Johnson is a large thirtysomething man with a bushy blond beard and, on this day, a pair of designer slip-on shoes with a big picture of a water tower on them. He’s a professional gambler turned crypto investor and he is confident in his idea for Crawley. The club will soon offer for sale a number of digital tokens that will give purchasers the opportunity to watch and take part in decision-making. This, Johnson says, will go well beyond the offerings made by companies such as Socios who run schemes for a number of leading European teams where tokens allow users to vote in polls on club matters." I'm not certain that they actually did this, or if it's still going on.
  9. Are they still deciding everything via fan token holder votes?
  10. Based on the replies to the Instagram post it's being organised by 13 year olds.
  11. How would you account for things like image rights payments or other media related stuff. It's not basic wage, it's not a bonus, and it's normally paid to a separate rights company. But it is pretty much guaranteed income. Would it just be separate income derived from/through said company?
  12. Did you ever see a pay ratchet? A clause or something that says "if another player gets a wage rise or gets paid more than I do, then my pay goes up by X%, or matches it, or is reviewed etc". I've heard they do exist in some contracts, but suspect they're pretty unusual.

    Vyner

It's right and fair to highlight Pring's good performance last night. It's also fair to highlight the areas where Vyner could still improve, because there are a few. Pring and Vyner were both good last night, and perhaps I do have a soft spot for a player previously slated coming good and proving people wrong. However, Vyner has undoubtedly improved hugely. He has cut out the majority of the silly errors he can be prone to. His distribution is better. He seems to have grown physically as well. I therefore make my comment about player of the season for a few reasons. 1. Presence. Vyner has the most minutes of any player this season. He's played 2,218 league minutes (transfermarkt) of a maximum possible 2,340. 2. Improvement. I do take improvement into consideration when picking POTY. Vyner's massively improved. 3. Consistency. A hard one to quantify but on whoscored he's got an average rating of 6.65 and a spread of 5.67 to 7.48. So based on that he's just been putting in solid if unspectacular performances. Pring has been excellent in the 870 minutes he's played. Given he missed the first dozen or so games I don't think he can really be in the conversation...yet.
  14. Furthermore what have the past two years seen if not drastic, dramatic, and relentless change in all aspects of how this club is run? I'd be 99% sure these fans don't know who the current CEO is, let alone that there's going to be a change there soon. Jokes aside - I sympathise with frustration, and I do think there are things that need to change (a proper board of directors, better fan engagement and involvement, a simpler ticket pricing structure etc), but nebulously demanding change and spouting clichés such as "we want our club back" and "fans not customers" is mental.
  15. A fair and legitimate grievance. I'll see you at the 3 Lions on the 14th. I'll bring the pyro, but we'll need to sort parking somehow as I've also got no change.
  16. Oh come now. The poster very clearly states that they want "change". So they want change. Just some simple change. Change means change.

    Vyner

Ditto Genuinely think he'd get my player of the season vote if asked right now.
  18. Another hard fought point on the road. You've got to be happy with that. Vyner imperious, O'Leary solid, and Semenyo looked back to near his best.
  19. Coventry have played some delicious through balls today. Very dangerous.
  20. https://www.whoscored.com/Explanations#:~:text=WhoScored.com Ratings are based, their influence within the game. Essentially starts at 6.0, then about 200 different things can influence it up or down
  21. Corners in general are shit. Terribly ineffective in terms of scoring.
  22. Since Cov scored we basically have been. We're not great, and we're prone to sloppy errors and counter attacks, but there's some functional play being displayed and most of it has happened in the home half.
  23. Yeh. Seconds after Wells turned his man well...then turned back around and playe fit back into no space. Two bits where we made our own trouble. Still Semenyo's scored so all's well.
