  1. It's all administered electronically through the FIFA club portal, so ultimately there's not going to be much flex or negotiation. Wollacott would only be worth about US$50,000 plus about US$10,000 for every knockout stage. Probably not worth fighting for tbh.
  2. I agree. However, as I cannot find the actual "Rules" of the benefits programme online, I have to take the word of the FIFA website. That wording simply says: "...approximately USD 10,000 to be received for each one of the days the relevant player remains with his national team during the FIFA World Cup 2022™ and the official preparation period." Can the bit in bold be read to include players who are "with the team" even if they are not named in the official squad? I think it's unlikely, and I expect the proper Rules of the programme to spell this out in more detail, but it's possible.
  3. It's paid for any time that a player is registered with a club in the 2 years prior to the tournament. Fam left roughly 18 months ago. It's irrelevant how he left. Morrell left more than 2 years ago so nothing for him. Wollacott I'm not sure of. He's out in Qatar with Ghana, but I don't think he's an official squad member. So it's unclear whether we get the money for him as well. He left the club in summer 2021, same as Fam.
  4. Yeh, that's the approximate totals per stage per player from FIFA. @Port Said Red I think I previously posted that we'd get roughly an extra US$40,000 per knockout stage that Ghana reach. Roughly speaking it's about US$180,000 for the group stage, US$220,000 for last 16, US$260,000 for QF, US$300,000 for SF, and then US$350-370,000 for Final. We are also getting about 25% of each of these amounts for each stage that Diedhiou reaches with Senegal. All might vary slightly depending on the exact day each round is played.
  5. Better get Semenyo on now to make sure he's got time to score a hat-trick to secure this win.
  6. FIFA's Club Benefits Programme pays a flat US$10,000(ish) per day, per player. That sum is then split pro rata between all clubs the player has been at over the last 2 years.
  7. 2-0 up. Surely no harm in giving Semenyo the 2nd half?
  8. Haha. Cheeky free kick move there. Chaos in the box. Ghana!
  9. Obviously, at half time between Spain and Germany, we all want to watch a feature piece from the Wales camp. Thanks BBC! For balance, this bit on England is also unnecessary.
  10. Spain pressing so high. Right up on the German penalty box. Incredible intensity, but vulnerable to a break/counter.
  11. And so yet another season passes without a Bristol derby. 4 September 2023 will be the tenth anniversary of the last meeting.
  12. Been a bit of a theme generally that, so far, the "lesser" teams have shown themselves to be not quite so lesser. A couple of exceptions like Wales and Qatar, but generally it seems like the standard has risen...just in time for an extra 16 teams to be added in 2026.
  13. I wonder if we're seeing the fatigue hit after the excitement of the first round. Just feels like no one has really managed to get two proper performances. Some teams have gone unchanged...and unimpressed, others have rotated...and unimpressed. I accept that Spain and Brazil are still to play, and could of course deliver a second good game.
  14. So has any team managed to put together 2 consistent and good performances yet? France have won 2 games and scored 6, but they were far from perfect in either match.
  15. All fantastic, the Del in particular. But imo not quite on the Pele, Beckenbauer, Maradona, Ronaldo etc level. One who was though - the real Ronaldo, O Fenômeno.
  16. That back 4 of Maldini, Nesta, Stam and Cafu was one of my first loves in football. He was so good.
  17. They've been eye-catching going forward, but I think Denmark have been nicely organised, have dealt with that exciting french attack relatively well, and have also got in behind the french on a few occasions. It's a good game and Denmark, especially in this second half, are very much playing their part.
  18. Very good again, but this is a goal scored before he joined us isn't it? So technically not ex-City when the goal was scored. Who are a half decent team.
  19. Very good shout. Apparently scored a hatful in qualifiers but never got a goal in the finals.
  20. On a quick Google I think Jacki only went to the '86 finals. Poland only scored 1 goal in their 4 matches. Scored by Smolarek.
  21. So is it safe to assume that should Semenyo score he will be the first current Bristol City player to score at a world cup?
