I think you have to caveat this performance with the fact it was against a newly promoted side who had lost their opening game. Salernitana are also phoenix club, the current incarnation of which was formed only 10 years ago apparently. So look, this is hardly the Latin derby or a game against one of the old dons of Serie A. But still, he's now played well in both league games so far, and that first was against Fiorentina. Calvert-Lewin has just pulled out of the squad though, so perhaps Abraham will be called up?

He's got to spend that goal bonus on something. Honestly though, he looks like he's having a lovely time. Assisting and scoring goals on the pitch, and posting some enviable vistas on Instagram off it. The highlights from last night are a great watch for him. he's showing all of that fox in the box style he had when with us. A great pass for Roma's second at 1:10, and then his own sweet first time strike finds the net at 1:40 for their third. He honestly looks like he's been part of that team for years. See above.

Weimann will get the headlines and probably MOTM, but I have to say I think Massengo, Baker, and Pring were exceptional today.

I feel like a few people have forgotten just how awful we were last winter. Those last couple of months under Holden were just dreadful.

I think he's been pretty good today, could have been a little more decisive in the box at times, but playing well. Him and Pring are certainly causing problems.

I for one am looking forward to Scott coming on in the second half and running at and around Aden Flint.

Downsy on RobinsTV says "lots of the players will be mates with Pack and Flint." Are lots of the players mates with Flint and Pack? How many of our current first XI actually played for City with those two? I'm not sure it's too many. Flint's last game for us was the final game of the 17/18 season. Looking at the line up for that game - against Sheff Utd - only Semenyo, COD and Bakinson are still at the club. Not a single player in the starting lineup is still with us. Looking at the first XI from Pack's last match - the opening loss to Leeds in the 2019/20 season - and there's a few more. Bentley (although he'd only just joined), Kalas, COD and Weimann started that game, and Baker was on the bench. Basically, unless they're mates outside of City, through other ways, our club has really moved on from these two. They're ex players of the club, but for most of the guys on the pitch today there's not much special going on.
