  1. I've never tried FBC (or BS3 Talk). I already have about 6-7 hours of podcasts that I listen to a week and just can't really be arsed to listen to another hour of Bristol City based moaning. The 'live' aspect of FBC doesn't appeal to me at all as I do other stuff after games finish. I like OSIB and have supported it by listening, contributing and donating from day 1 so personally am happy listening to just that. Simultaneously OSIB shouldn't be beyond (constructive) criticism and development. For example I've always thought that more than an hour is too long and does demonstrate that there's a little too much waffle and jokes. But then again we're on episode 141 so obviously it works for people.
  2. You probably chose the worst episode you could have chosen for your first listen.
  3. Sorry, I didn't mean your post wasn't relevant. I typed a reply out that really wasn't about the impact on sport. I posted and realised so edited to delete my ramblings. If it helps my reply was basically agreeing with you.
  4. Mum and Dad would take me and my sisters almost every fortnight when we were kids. I just about remember Wendy the elephant and the polar bears before they died or were moved on. Fond memories of climbing some of the trees - there was one in particular near the gibbons and meerkats where the canopy formed a kind of dome. You could go under it and not see out from inside, magical for a 6 or 7 year-old. Having said all that, it is the correct decision to move to a bigger and more spacious site.
  5. From the BBC article on the return of fans. This is Wycombe fans. All are on their own - did they have to sit solo even if attending in a group or are they all just lone soldiers?
  6. Secret agent hotel receptionist messing up the keys.
  7. Still doesn't say they've been dropped. They have been asked to stay away and are missing the game because of the time it takes to be tested. The last line says they could be back for Belgium if tested in time. See I clicked on it thinking there might be a post about the team, maybe about the potential XI, the formation, the way the game might play out. Instead you've seen a story and decided to come fishing for outrage at these hoodlums daring to accidentally break a covid rule. You've then sexed up the story by omitting some facts and making up others. It's unnecessary and unhelpful, and could easily have been discussed elsewhere. The young men are being dealt with. Tammy's done his scripted apology and we can all move on. But if you want a thread to shout at clouds on then I'll take your advice and ignore it now.
  8. Come on. You've laced yet another covid thread with a bunch of England players. There's ample threads on covid, rule breaking, and all manner of other things. You've also failed to mention that it was a surprise birthday party that Abraham had no knowledge of or hand in planning. You also say that they've been dropped. They've not been dropped. They've been asked to delay their attendance at training. Why whip it up with a new and innacurate thread when it can just go in the hopper with all the other covid related chat?
  9. So the thread isn't about England. It's about covid. Well done. Needed another one.
  10. https://www.thetotallyfootballshow.com/shows/totally-football-league-show-efl-podcast/ This podcast has a really interesting first 15 minutes. The presenters interview the CEO of Shrewsbury Town, Brian Caldwell. Shrewsbury are one of the clubs piloting the return of 1,000 fans this weekend. Shrewsbury currently have about 2,700 ST holders and the interview covers the processes behind this pilot. In summary: Caldwell says that in terms of preparation the club received an email from from the EFL on Tuesday at 11.30am. It sounds like this was an email to all EFL clubs, and it was basically asking if any clubs would be up for being part of the pilot. Responses had to be in by 2pm the same day! Before responding Shrewsbury needed the ok of their SAG, plus the police, ambulance, insurers etc. Mad timeline all around really. Anyway, Shrewsbury were able to respond positively as they have a 24 acre site, so have plenty of spare space in which to distance fans. The EFL gave the go ahead to Shrewsbury on Wednesday at 1pm. So they have had Wednesday pm, today, tomorrow, and Saturday morning to prepare for their 3pm Saturday game (against the absolute slugs of football Northampton Town). Naturally it's been mental. Shrewsbury had prepared 1,000 tickets on Wednesday morning, assuming they'd get the go ahead. Given the timeline they weren't able to do any sort of sophisticated or phased selection system, so it just went first come first served amongst ST holders, going live for purchase at 2pm yesterday. Any ST holder not getting a ticket has been given free streaming access on iFollow. Caldwell said ideally - and if they're part of future pilots - then he's thinking of prioritising ST holders depending on how early they renewed last season. On Saturday fans will be distanced in their seats, but allowed to sit in small groups, eg people from the same address. Just one stand will be open, no concourse facilities are open, and there's a full one way system for toilets. Lots of stickers, signs and barriers are being put up. There will be catering, but all will be outside, out the back of the stand - again they can do this because of their spacious site.
  11. Hypothetical for me but I'd be there in a heart beat if possible. Hoping I'll be able to attend some sort of match when I'm back in the UK at Christmas.
  12. Is it a tactic - if you eschew all grammar then when your ramblings are questioned you can simply say "well, if you read it more carefully, it all makes sense". However, as you've not written it according to "the so-called rules", in fact no-one will ever be able to fully decipher your writing. Thus you are able to use this ambiguity as a shield to cover your madness.
  13. I have said it many times before. There is nothing in this world more entertaining than the unhinged, unedited, and unrestrained ramblings of a pissed off football chairman.
  14. Williams has completely lost his head there. What an idiot. Seasoned professional and he charges in arms flailing.
  15. Pretty much, there's been some crosses into the box from COD and Dasilva, and Nagy has tried to just chip it to the right hand side of the box for Weimann to run onto. but there's definitely not been much cutting edge despite our dominance on the flanks and the industry of Nagy and Smith. A corner at the and was headed close, and Afobe had a couple of slim chances.
  16. To be fair this has been a bright first ten. Doesn't look that structured but we're pressing high and Afobe, Dasilva and even COD are looking adequately aroused. Afobe drifting centrally at times.
  17. Been saying that for years. Totally agree. Almost every other invasion sport has them.
  18. Achilles tendon tweak. Not serious, could be back on Saturday.
