I said the same to a mate yesterday. We both remembered our days on the East End when it was support the City no matter what, and there were some worse performances back then as well. Some of our ‘fans’ at the Gate have no idea what the word support actually means, in contrast to our away support, and that must affect players’ confidence IMO. Negativity doesn’t help anyone.

    I absolutely agree.

  2. I won’t watch a European or a Premier League game until City are in it. I detest the eliteness and arrogance of some of the big clubs. I’m just not interested. Each to their own, but unless it’s City and the teams in their league, I really couldn’t give a shit. I just love my club.

  3. Some fans support teams that are successful wherever they live and don’t support their local team. This happened to Ipswich in the 70s and early 80s and others over time. If Ipswich don’t get back to the Prem and do well, this fan base will gradually disappear. Same for other similar clubs. When we get to the Prem and stay there, we will get more support outside of the local area. Then the ticket prices rise and we can’t afford to go….

Man attends PR event of Lansdown owned company, which has the sole intention of promoting said Lansdown owned company, in the presence of the Lansdown family, and in audience of the Lansdown family, and the next day the man tells everyone about how wonderful the Lansdowns are because they attended an event in honour of a Lansdown owned company that told him how wonderful they are.

Hey kid in the riot. I’m not a star struck man, just someone who loves Bristol City and our community. I’m praising the Lansdowns because my eyes have been opened to what else they do and they are doing something good. I also praise others in our community that do good too. Each to their own and I get your view, but please do not think I’m a ‘man’ who turns up at an event and sucks up to anyone or any company.

Me too! Might be worth editing the title of the post?

I don’t think anyone can question the money, effort and vision that SL has had. What we criticise is some of his woeful decision making over the years and blinkered nepotism.

All things considered though we are very fortunate to have him and his family when you look at other clubs.

    How do I change it?

Things are looking good since Power sold up and the new chairman has been a breath of fresh air and a real people person who wants to mix with the community and a great atmosphere both at home and away.  Ben Garner has quietly gone about his business and talks really well in his interviews and along with the Director of football Ben Chorley they've bought in some decent players for league two including Ben Gladwin & Johnny Williams. Jo Jo in goal has been immense which proves he always has the abality but hard to get his opportunity when you had proven goalkeepers ahead of him.

Shaun Taylor will always be a legend for both our clubs and reminds me of Terry Butcher with his bravery and he's currently head of academy at Torquay United.

Thanks ST. Enjoy the season, best of luck unless you face us in the cup.

A few weeks ago when we only had six pros on the asschat forum they were taking the p**s saying we could have the players that weren't good enough for their squad. Just wondering where they are now?

How’s it looking for you guys now ST? Shaun Taylor is one of my legends. Such a hard player. What is he up to now?

I'm not responsible for, or necessarily in agreement with, everything which is said or done by my fellow supporters.  I've always tried to be honest when commenting on things which have happened at the club, be they good or bad.  @Bar BS3seems to have a bit of personal vendetta, unfortunately without any wit to make it entertaining.

I totally get that it seems a bit odd that I post on here, although, for me, it's largely been a positive experience.

I like to get honest views In The Net and like your posts. You’ll always get supporters from both clubs who are not so friendly, but that’s football. Keep posting mate.
