  1. Defo! Oh the nights of the all inclusive Thursday nights at the Mauritanial ?
  2. I think the Stegosaurus was the most over rated dinosaur. Any other thoughts readers?
  3. Ryan Lowe. Here we go yet again. Did you or any other RL advocate watch Sheff Weds v Plymouth at the weekend? Christ it was sh!te. I'm not basing RL's credentials on one game by the way. I live near Plymouth so have the misfortune of getting to see them in action. Not to mention the fickle Plymouth fans banging on that this is their season. However, even Plymouth fans have doubted him at times. Plymouth are in the League One mix and that is about it. They don't play great football and I'm not sure where anyone gets that impression from. It also conveniently forgotten that RL hasn't been without his struggles with Plymouth in his time there. Why would anyone think RL would play a system that suits our squad? Do we not have intensive work carried out the training ground? Is NP not trying to strip out all of the dead wood and creating a positive culture etc, etc? If a change has to be made i.e. I can only see due to NPs health as being the only reason. Then RL would be a gamble of such magnitude that I just can't see being taken.
  4. Thankfully I've got a round trip via the car to Truro tomorrow. A bit of relief from the mad soap opera that is Bristol City FC. No doubt I will log back on Wednesday morning for some more madness!
  5. How long did that take to try and fit that in to a story?
  6. This bloke / woman / alien is a royal bell sniff of the highest order. Wish he'd just p!ss off.
  7. OMG please let this madness end.
  8. Is that JET looking a bit camp on the edge of the box?
  9. We could do with Fred Elliott in Midfield. (Yes I know he's dead).
  10. To be honest I don't think any of us looked too well post match on Tuesday!
  11. Cue the vultures circling over head and demanding we sound Ryan Lowe out about taking over.
  12. FFS. Yawn. Means that its been done to death. Ryan Lowe being seen as the best new thing since whatever is just desperate. Reasonably local. Yes. The rest is debatable at best. Career in ascendency. His team are in the mix in League One but hardly tearing it up. I'm not sure where the 'playing excellent football' comes from? As I live near Plymouth I have this mis-fortune of knowing a lot of Plymouth regulars ( in that they regularly go only when Plymouth are doing well). They do love their manager but they certainly don't echo the 'excellent football' myth that keeps being banded about on here. If City binned NP now and recruited RL then it would be a gamble on an unimaginable scale. City are in such a state that even NP or any other manager is going to find our predicament a challenge. Bringing in a Championship rookie Manager would only make things even worse. City have made their choice with NP and need to stick with it.
  13. I love the tune (mis-spent youth) but as Chelsea play it after their home games I feel a bit uneasy about us playing it. Maybe Night Boat to Cairo instead.
  14. Bit of both I reckon. City were pretty average and no better than that. How matey missed at the end I have no idea and that would be yet more points dropped late on. However, the support / noise was brilliant on Saturday and that has to be a massive positive and must've helped the team dig out a result.
  15. Fair play. You were bored and looking for nibs and now you have 3 pages. Mission accomplished!
  16. I hate the saying 'free hit' but this is pretty much one of those. I don't mean that as f@ck it lets just get this over with. I mean let us go out there and really have a go. Defending 0-0 is only going to end one way so I'd really like to see us come out the traps early and set out an attacking intent. Appreciate this could back fire but having a go would be preferable than sitting back. Tin hat time.
  17. I agree with most of that. However, given that we were already sliding toward the situation we find ourselves in long before LJ finally went. We then opted for a mind blowing gamble that never paid off. So City only had options 2 & 3. It seems to be conveniently forgotten that there have been difficult times at Plymouth for Ryan Lowe. Plymouth are top of League One now but how often has that happened in his tenure? There seems to be a perception that he plays 'attractive football'? As I live in Devon, I've seen Plymouth play and unfortunately know a lot of Plymouth fans (fickle bunch) and believe me it ain't that pretty. In addition, League 1 is nowhere near the standard of the Championship. Long and short of it is that to have appointed Ryan Lowe or similar at the last appointment stage would have been a disaster. NP has been appointed and he came in to this situation with his eyes wide open. He may or may not succeed but I'm willing to bet he has more chance than a Ryan Lowe type appointment. Navigate this season and kick on next is the best I feel we can hope for. That's because of a recent history as mentioned above and it's going to be a time consuming restructure job for experienced heads and not the time for an untried 'one for the future'.
  18. Ryan Lowe's record speaks for himself or itself? Doesn't really matter. I don't prescribe to the not 'big enough name' view either. Ryan Lowe has no track record in any league above League 1 and even then what makes him such a great choice? Another untried (See Holden) option would be sinking without a trace right now in the current predicament City are in. More dead wood than Teignmouth beach still here even after the lot that have already gone. Yes things are pretty sh!te and yes I think that will continue for the rest of this season at least. It can't be all ripped up and started again because it has reached such a bad point that there is no way we as a club can buy our way out of this. The important thing is to stay up this year and I believe experience in the shape of NP will keep us up. Another Championship Rookie Manager / Management Team before NP's appointment would have been an utter disaster.
