So, as I read that. They've teamed up with a Taiwanese Tupperware owner, who's in talks with Edward Ware (Ted) and there'll be news broadcast on Thursday.

It's been a difficult week for the club with certain things going on behind the scenes'. Seems to be the first clear statement from Marcus

  2. For those of you who keep dismissing all the stories of woe emanating from within our that give grave cause for concern, below is a statement from the person(s) involved in fencegate. Let’s try and not let a story get in the way of actual true facts please find below this statement, cue Lord Justice Gashead and his merry band of rose tinters to try and dissect FTG :

I will try and explain what has gone on in a sensible way without apportioning blame on any individual or company
In February The landscape company was instructed by brick to cut back hedgerows and excessive growth around the perimeter of training ground.about half way through the clearance the club realised there was no way of securing the site from vehicle and caravan access without a fence being erected
IT WENT to tender and I understand J & G were successful
    Work was completed
No payment was received until July which was 3k out of £40 k plus since then there have been several more payments of 3k after a long gap and several emails J& G went legal they received another 2k this week
They also excavated the ditch that runs the entire length of the site
I have finally spoken up as I am fed up of companies who worked this site and did a good job being blamed
If you enter the site you will also see 2 huge roller shutter doors on the original agricultural sheds and new internal wall to house grass cutting machinery
So yes money is owed and steve Brookfield is trying his best to pay it is only my relationship with the club over 15 years of sponsoring all the stands and managers cars that stops me going legal
I am fully behind Daryl but the politics within the club have upset me.
I am sure I will get slaughtered for speaking up but I love this club and things aren’t right.

  4. I take very seriously the concerns raised on here about the Hani Al Qadi (Dwane Sports) ownership of BRFC (Wael Al Qadi and his Steve Hamer). But I just DO NOT KOW ANYTHING of the basis for your assertion. Who the devil is supposed to be buying the football club? Or do you think Dwane Sports will abandon BRFC and utelise the charge on the stadium on which their investment/loan is secured. Is this even possible? The people in talks to buy the mem only want to build student flats and will re open talks with UWE  to build and pay for a reduce size ground to rent to Brfc. We need answers now if not we should stage a protests eg  tennis ball on pitch next home game .

  5. Before i get a lot of flak this post is not something I actually wanted to create but .....

Having supported the club for over 50 years I am very concerned how the club is currently functioning

It is fact that we have achieved very little in historical terms and almost entirely lived in the shadow of city both on and off the field

I dont agree with the stupid levels of money within football but we have to 'accept' it like most clubs

The new owners initially gave us all hope that matters might change at long last but the absence of a plan B or plan C post UWE has left us no further forward imo .... redevelopment of the Mem is not the answer and may well never get off the ground

DC is VERY ambitious and I really dont see him hanging around IF January sees no major cash available for transfer targets
We are short in at least 3/4 playing areas

People were quick to criticise Matty for leaving but city offered a better infastructure and a club run in a professional basis nevermind his personal wages increase

It is not hard to see DC being tempted in the same way

  6. I feel badly let down by the owner of the club hani.
Lots of broken promises on budgets,UWE and the training ground up and running by 2018-2019 all a bloody mirage!
Now we have a fan base expecting a top league one team when its more likely to have a badly struggling one.
Whats the point of taking over a struggling football club and not throwing serious money at it?
I wish the owners would just quietly fade away back to making millions in banking.
Feel sorry for darrell clarke as hes becoming just another struggling manager waiting for the sack as the support start to turn on him as all "fans" do in the modern era.
Higgs would have delivered a ground with the sainsbury deal at any time from the start of the new millennium until very recent changes in shoppers habits so at least in part was unlucky.
The present owners are right up there in a mini league with the oystens, venkys and the leyton orient lunatic for me.
I would have much preferred not having my hopes raised that we were gunning for bristol city with a state of the art stadium and a category 2 academy, yes remember that? a cat 2 academy!!
    Rubbish and cheap talk.
Name all the chairmen of bristol rovers that have done more for the football club than harry dolman or steve lansdown have at city.
    1] ?
    2]?
    3] ?
    4]?
Let's boycott the next home game

Sounds as though the bartender who spoke to the press should be able to identify her, as he witnessed her outside punching the horse, and then again when she returned to the pub.  The CCTV must cover the door, so if she went in and out in a short space of time the police should be able to get some good images for identification.

Let's hope that the horse doesn't have to make a complaint in order for them to follow it up!

CCTV will not be any good unless the horse makes a complaint

unless a pub cctv is better than a dash cam

  8. ould take a drubbing. It's purely down to the management staff and the players that we haven't been the Championships whipping boys since we got here. We've been absolutely magnificent, as a club and as a set of fans so far. I've never ever seem a set of fans clap their own team off having just been beaten 5-0 and 5-1 away from home. It made me proud. Like I said though, it hasn't all been rosy and tomorrow night may be another where we have to stick together come the end of the 90 minutes. We could take an absolute pasting.

I mentioned I  watch quite a bit of championship football, I'd like to think I got Leeds pretty much spot on and unfortunately I've seen even more of Bristol City and I'm even more worried. They've been sensational in patches.

They've only lost once in 11 in all competitions so far, losing to Birmingham of all teams. They're scoring goals for fun and they look pretty solid defensively, although I've yet to see another team really put them under a prolonged spell of pressure to see them really tested. In amongst some impressive wins in the league, they've also thrashed Plymouth and beaten Watford (away) and Stoke in the EFL cup, some of their play has been nothing short of sensational. They beat Ipswich 3-1 last time out and even though a couple of the goals took wicked deflections, they were still well worthy of the 3 points.

I don't think it's come cheap though. The lad they signed from France Diedhiou (for an eye watering 5.4m quid!!!) will frighten us to death, he really does look to have it all, he's strong and quick with the ball at his feet, he holds it up well and shields it fantastically and he can finish with any part of his body. I'm worried if he runs at our back 3 without protection, he'll tear us apart on his own. If he doesn't get 20+ goals this season, I'll eat my hat.

Playing off him is Bobby Reid, a real little terrier, they defend from the front and he works his absolute nuts off. He's a bit clumsy at times with the ball but he seemingly always comes away with it, he's fast and he'll run the channels all night long, if he's up against Warnock, Stephen will have to give himself a 3 yard head start. He's got 7 goals already this season, again some of them fortunate but he's been in the right place at the right time and he's not afraid to take a shot on.

Most of the time they play with a 3 up front, Patterson almost given a free role to pick up the ball anywhere he wants in the final third, his quality into the box has been brilliant, he really does look like he's back to being the threat he was a few seasons ago.

They've got a really solid 3 at the back, Aiden Flint has been really good for a few seasons now and he's a huge threat in our box on set pieces, a huge threat. I don't think I've ever seen a centre half get on the end of as many set pieces as he does. They've also signed Baker from Aston Villa, a lad who has played more than 100 premier league games, he's got to have a bit more about him than the average championship defender. Certainly another costly signing and Bailey Wright, a proper defender who'll throw himself in the way of anything and everything. The two full backs like to bomb forward, both comfortable on the ball and both capable of putting real quality into our box. I haven't even mentioned the midfield 3 and whether they play Pack or O'Dowda both have good quality and a real work ethic.

It massively helps that Johnson can keep picking the same players week in week out with 4 players being ever present and another 3 more with 10 appearances each. When the core of the side stays the same, it goes a long way.

If they play the way they can and have been playing, we could be in for a long evening. It's going to take every ounce of character, effort, graft, determination, skill, luck, call it what you will to come away with anything more than a dent to our goal difference. Sorry to be blunt. Of course I'm going to the game full of hope we can turn in one of our special backs to the wall performance where one moment of quality going forward nicks us the points.

I like Gary Johnson, he's a really intelligent manager and a nice bloke with it. I know this sounds strange but I wish they'd fired him when they were bottom 3 last year. He's a good manager who given time will get them challenging at the right end of the table. I really hope tomorrow they have an off night.

  9. I was walking along the top of Rodway hill yesterday and thought about the land/empty field at the back of Cossham street and Cleve Rugby club.

I started thinking - we could buy Mangos out and then let them use the new ground with us.The area there could easily be built into a 30k arena. Its by the ring road as well as being in Gas heartland. The fact that I live just 5 min walk way from this site has nothing to do with my suggestion. All we need is weal to put his hand in his deep pockets

  10. Not looking good is it

first going to build at UWE with or with out Sainsbury money

    pulled out

second going to build training ground

all on stop no money to fund it.and unable to pay for the fence

Third top stadium builders to up grade the mem

best they can do was a wooden frame, paint, and carpet clean,

upto to date sprinkler which don't work

    now trying to off load

weal don't bother to attend games

can not under stand most of their fans still thinks he loves the club

D C would have left by now but no one came in for him

    Ho well happy days

  11. What I can't get my head around is why Darrell would commit to the club if he didn't believe that the club would be progressing behind the scenes? We'll find out if Darrell chooses to leave of his own accord? After all who in their right mind would want to stay in a position where the only way you can go is backwards? It just wouldn't make sense as Darrell is a young and hungry manager. If you think about it the owners would have lied to everyone if Rovers don't move forward, including the manager. Surely they couldn't be that underhanded could they?

yes they can be that much underhanded just look how they pulled out of the UWE  .

They let it out at eleven pm because someone else forced them to.

The family have been trying to off load because they thought the Sainsbury would come good.

if the fans started to ask the board to come clean  they will be in for a big shock

  12. Just popped on the Bristol City forum and seen this on 16:10 - Sep 29 by nshearman1

I'm in Barrow Gurney now. A friend gave me his season ticket for the Bolton game as he couldn't go, you are a decent side this year, 'tight' as a number of you mention on Harry's forum summary. I think you will give us a battle but after our fireworks this week I personally think it will be more of a scrap than a football feast - but I am known as a moaner on here. Apart from those you mention, I was very impressed with young Joe Bryan on Tuesday. Your stadium is also very impressive, it seemed to me that you've managed to keep the noise and excitement of an older stadium while turning it into a modern one.
