I'm led to believe that there was an issue with the priority ST sale ( over 3 away games) that afforded the one eligible priority sale ST the ability to purchase unlimited normal ST holders tickets.

Either moving forward, the club need to fix this, or just put it out to all STs at the same time; regardless or how many away games they've been to.

Untrue, I did have a go at trying to get tickets for my mates who hadn’t been to 3 away games to see if it was possible but you get an error message and the checkout button is blanked out.

Yes this definitely was an issue.

A mate went in at 9:45 and assigned 4 additional tickets to friends/family, none of whom have been to 3 away games, some haven't been to any, he paid and had email confirmation all before 10:00.

I know this is not a true or scientific marker, but if we purely look at value on Transfermkt this says those names are ranked as follows :

Knight - 22nd highest rated midfielder

Dickie - 32nd highest rated centre back

Vyner - 35th highest rated centre back

Sykes - 23rd highest rated right winger

Pring - 26th highest rated left back

As I have caveated, this is not strictly a true marker; but is based on their current perceived value.

But for context, if we’re talking top 6, these players would be considered amongst the best 6 players in the league.

For Pring, is he better than Vinagre, Brandon Williams, Leif Davis, Josh Tymon, Jamal Lewis, Ryan Manning, Sam McCallum to name but a few.

For Dickie & Vyner, are they better than Harwood-Bellis, Faes, Struijk, Bednarek, Soutter, Coady, Holgate, Vestergaard, Rodon, Cabango to name but a few.

For Knight, is he better than Dewsbury-Hall, Sara, Alcaraz; Patino, Downes, Grimes, Kamara, Neil, Wharton, Smallbone, Winks, Ampadu, Ndidi, Travis, Sheaf, Pearson to name but a few.

For Sykes, is he better than Summerville, Wallace, Diangana, Jones, Roberts, Bowler, Lowe, Dolan to name but a few.

In my opinion, the answer to all of the above is no.
Others may have a different opinion. But I’m hugely convinced and supremely confident that none of those you mention are in the top 6 bracket of best players in this league.

Yes I agree with you, I didn't say any of them would be in the top 6 bracket of best players in the league.

Your figures pretty much back up my point that they would be regular starters in top half Championship sides.

If you assume each of the 12 top half clubs need at least 2 centre midfielder starters for example then Knight at 22nd highest rated would fit in there.

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have today revealed an innovative new-look dartboard ahead of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship, which will take place from December 15 to January 3.

As part of their mission to turn the Ally Pally green for the massive sporting occasion, which will be watched by a global audience of millions over the festive period, the tournament’s new sponsors will unveil the brand new dartboard featuring a green treble 20 – replacing the traditional red - during today’s official launch event in London.

The boards have been produced by Winmau - the PDC's official equipment supplier - and will sit at the centre of a stage illuminated by an electrifying green backdrop, representing the event’s world-famous live atmosphere.

Added to that, masses of Paddy Power merchandise adorning the brand's iconic green colours will be handed out to the 90,000 fans attending the 16-day event.

“First impressions mean everything and as new sponsors we want to make our mark - but this isn't just about the fact the Irish are coming,” spokesman Paddy Power said.

There is science behind the radical change to the dartboard’s traditional colours; research has shown the colour green sits at the centre of our visual spectrum while red and blue reside at either end of the scale, making them harder to see.

That means not only is green the colour we perceive more accurately, but it also aids improved precision and decreased eye fatigue.

“Our aim is to help make the standard of the first ever Paddy Power World Darts Championship like something you've never seen before,” Paddy continued.

"We saw last year's tournament make headlines all over the world. Hopefully we can play a small part in making this year's just that 1 per cent better.

"And yes - as an Irish brand, the thought of invading an icon of British pub culture and turning the treble 20 green had its own added appeal."

Speaking about the change, PDC chief executive Matthew Porter added: “We have always said as an organisation that we want to move and evolve with the times.

“If after 30 years of our World Championship being played on a traditional dartboard, change means improvement for the standard and quality of the sport, and it directly benefits the health of players, then we owe it to them to give it a go.

"We saw 901 180s struck during last year’s tournament and maybe we’ll break the 1,000 mark this year for the first time ever. It's great to be working with Paddy Power and we hope the players are as excited about this change as we are."

Players present at today’s launch will have their first opportunity to practice on the new boards, with current World Champion Michael Smith, former winners Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price and “Queen of the Palace” Fallon Sherrock set to see the new design first-hand.

Yes all a clever marketing move.

All the boards given out to fans and sponsors and guests will have the green 180 as well as the ones used in the Exhibition matches but for all the proper matches they will be the traditional red.

They even got Sky Sports with it as they reported on it happening as well.

It is happening, obviously all driven by Paddy Power being the sponsor

Part of their justification is that green is easier to see and will mean more treble 20's being hit !

    Agreed. Absolute fuckery.

It won’t actually be green for the boards used in matches.

Just a promotional thing from Paddy Power, quite clever.

Incredible last night he averaged nearly 118, against a very good 21 year old. If he was an African footballer though they would be checking his birth certificate, he looks about 30! :)

  6. Make the driving test much harder, get these irresponsible and dangerous drivers off the road and you'll reduce accidents, claims and repair rates.

The amount of people now that you see driving and you just think 'how on earth have you passed a test?'

Hardly mitigation for what happened though, fouling in Ice Hockey is all part of the game.

I'm assuming you are referring to the "Penalty Minutes" each player gets for the being "most penalised"?

For those that don't know they are the minutes a player is off the ice following a foul. It is worth pointing out his average is higher due to playing more games, he's not even the worst offender at the Steelers.

Is it like saying if Alex Scott was to seriously injure a player this season, because he was the most booked player for us last season "he has history"?

Regarding the second point, it should be pointed out his photo was shown on the big screen where he got the ovation by the full house and all the players in the area. Out of interest why do you feel this was disgusting?

Maybe I should have been a bit clearer. For clarity I don't believe he's meant to kill the poor bloke but I do think he's intended to take him out in some way or at the very least not exactly done a lot to avoid the collision. His leg being up there in that position, only he will know whether that was intentional or not.

I take your point about his PIM's being higher because he played more games but he has history of being banned for incidents on the ice:

he accrued a penalty for “tripping” in 2015-16 for New Brunswick, according to a box score for that game. He had a penalty for “holding” in 2020 while playing for the Utica Comets, in another example. He was called for “spearing” in a 2022 game with the Sheffield Steelers, according to the Elite Ice Hockey League.

From 2013 to 2017, he was listed as having 328 career penalty minutes, according to Vredshockey.com.

In 2010, Petgrave was suspended for five games, according to the Canadian Hockey League, which wrote, “Matt Petgrave will sit out the next five games for an infraction in the third period of last Saturday’s 9-4 win over Sarnia.”

In 2018, the ECHL announced that “Brampton’s Matt Petgrave has been suspended indefinitely and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #963, Brampton at Kalamazoo, on April 7.” The ECHL is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in New Jersey.

That same year, he was suspended for one game, according to the American Hockey League, which wrote on its website, “Laval Rocket defenseman Matt Petgrave has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of a slew-footing incident in a game at Toronto on Mar. 28. Petgrave was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 21.1 after being assessed a match penalty. He will miss Laval’s game tonight (Mar. 30) at Binghamton.”

According to the U.S. Hockey Rule Book, “Slew Footing is the act of a player using his leg or foot to knock or kick an opponent’s feet from under him.”

A statement on the ECHL’s website said, “Petgrave is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline as a result of his actions at 3:46 of the third period. Petgrave will miss Brampton’s game against Adirondack today (April 😎 and any further discipline will be announced at a later date.” That article did not provide additional details.

In the last few years I’ve had the same at Brentford, Fulham, Coventry, Birmingham off the top of my head, I’m sure there’s been more.

For context I’m a 28 yr old male.

Interestingly I've never had my wallet even looked at, let alone searched.

This includes away games at Leeds, Millwall, Birmingham, Cardiff, Swansea, Stoke, Leicester, QPR, Brentford.

I was going to ask where people thought around the area

Was thinking of a day out from Weston (by train), was looking at Bath, Cardiff or Exeter

Not been to the Cardiff one, but Bath is horrendous at certain times/days.

Shoulder to shoulder literally struggling to move when I've been previously, just pointless.

As an Oxford fan, I hope he gets you relegated and he ends up sacked.
Manning has shown he’s got no loyalty. He was doing nothing prior to his appointment, the Oxford board took him on and backed him to the hilt in the close season, now he’s shown that a sniff at the Championship and he’s off, leaving Oxford in the shit.  13 games where he managed to keep us up, just, then got us to 2nd in League One in what is a poor division.

If he’d left at the end of the season, fair enough, but to do it a third of the way through is galling.

    Hope QPR beat you Saturday.

    regards

Haven't you got a PapaCheckaPaintBristolStreet game to be getting ready for tonight?
