Just stating I bet he regrets leaving a bigger club for a club who thinks it's big

The whole point is that he wasn't going to sign a new deal and Derby were looking to cash in as much as possible for a player who had a rapidly dwindling transfer value as his contract ran down. We did a smart bit of business in loaning him back. He helps them win promotion, he gets his move and an improved contract & everyone wins.
Just like Jason Knight, his gravitas has improved, making the move he is no longer regarded as a bright academy prospect, he is an important and valued player in his own right.
He’ll have enjoyed his new increased salary since having signed for us in January.

See you have the book “Derby Days”. For the benefit of our younger subscribers, perhaps you’ll be kind enough to answer their natural question, wtf is a derby?

Like all clubs, 6426 will include those season ticket holders who, for one excuse or another, weren’t at the game. So the actual number present last night will actually go down like their sisters.

I’m judging things on the 6 months Manning has been here, not the 5 end of season games that have no meaning to them.
Four of those five end of season matches had a lot of meaning to Leicester, Plymouth, Blackburn and Huddersfield.

I think I'd give her a 7/10. Not sure about the pen. Was disappointed to hear a few misogynistic comments and anti-ref chants (Huddersfield) which I think a man would not have got in a similar situation. Some of the players seemed to be antagonistic toward her, especially the Huddersfield players at the end. I hope she gave them what for.
After the award of the pen, Hudd supporters were singing “the referee’s a w*****”, which I think is unlikely.

Credit to Barton. He made Rovers so unbearable I still haven't and can't see myself ever returning.
I feel exactly the same.

Best refereeing performance I’ve seen at AG for years.

You love to see it.
They’re slowly dying.
Reckon they’ll still go ahead with their plans for their main stand this summer?
No, me neither.
It’ll be funny (and typical of them) were they to demolish the existing stand then decide not to proceed with the rebuild.

On RB after the match, the summariser (haven’t a clue whom he was) said “I just hope that Matt can get it right because we all know that Rovers are a sleeping giant …”. FFS. Sleeping giant my arse.

The other one I think is a bit bizarre is Wickwar. Big new housing development on the outskirts but no retail provision (even a local store) now in the village and none that are walkable due to the nature of the roads/distance. I can see why the residents there are so against anything else coming up. Longer term, as the “stub Ridings” is developed I’d like to see some kind of cycle link to Wickwar as they do feel a bit isolated there and it’s either drive to Kingswood or Yate to pick up a pint of milk.
Rather than drive to Kingswood or Yate for milk, all of us living in Wickwar now have a cow in our back garden.

There were a couple who posted on here that they wouldn`t go to games whilst he was there and, to their credit, stuck to their guns. @Former Pirate and @Seventeen were two I recall.
They must now be frantically looking for other reasons not to go!

I don’t like to sit inside with the other mutants.
I think that you’ve just unwittingly described yourself as a mutant, Harry.
I do like the Birdcage but I fancy that the Wickwar Coffee Shop is friendlier? Better than Boswells by a country mile!

I'm pretty sure you don't know how the ignore function works on this site.
Join a forum (btw don’t pay the £fiver membership) and then put on the ignore list virtually every other member. He’s invented a virtual echo chamber … but it’s cost him nothing.
Think having an ignore list should be a privilege of paid subscription.

Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

At Wigan yesterday, a number were wearing clown outfits - and 776 of their supporters travelled from Bristol to see them wearing it.
