If you’d said before the game we’d be that dominant with that back four and King in the middle it would’ve seemed unlikely.
Clearly we should’ve won and they were there for the taking but it’s easy to forget the injuries we’ve suffered and the last week we’ve had.

So much ridiculous negativity on here... we're dominating with an injury ravaged squad, some people are here are miserable.
I think we’ve been great. And considering all the injuries, the size/inexperience of our back four up against a Warnock side, the forced changes, the two successive defeats… we deserve a huge amount of credit for the way we’ve gone about this IMO (irrespective of how poor they’ve been).

Why? He played well.
I’m a big fan but he gave the ball away probably four or five times in succession, was clearly tiring and if I’m an attacking sub I’m absolutely dying to get on and have a go at this heap of shite.

Keeping Bell on here is doing nobody any favours - the player included.

Really?! James, King and Scott are running the game.

Apart from his finishing!
Superb timing from me, you can’t deny it.

King’s been excellent.

I threw the current showing in as a safety blanket.
Worth also adding, there’s no way they come back out after half-time and play this badly again so we need to score now.

These lot are the worst team I’ve seen this season on current showing.

How is that not a penalty on Sykes?
I don’t think the defender expects him to bring it down and clearly goes straight through the back of him.
The referee 100% gives that ANYWHERE else on the pitch.

As someone who for reasons that are far too boring to go into ended up watching it on TV last night, the only thing that could have gone better for me was if Marriner had been a bit less one eyes & awarded the penalty for the clear push on Sykes.
Even if we’d scored it then it would only have been 1-1 at the time, but it would have been a lift psychologically both for the players & the crowd.
As for Scott, if anyone was harbouring any delusion that he’d be here next season, this game ended that.
Planning how to replace him is the next step & Tinnion’s comment about needed 4 players if one is sold suggests we already know this.
I was actually thinking about this after the game without knowing Tinnion had spoken about it.
Two midfielders and two centre-halves? Assuming we’re happy with what we’ve got in goal.

Thought they were stronger than when we last played them, and us weaker. Kalas and Scott our 2 best players….midfield unsurprisingly struggled, looked leggy.
The first goal was terrible defending. rest for Cardiff.
Couldn’t disagree more. We barely touched the ball for the first half an hour the last time to faced them. We were nowhere near them.
Tonight, we gave them genuine 50-50 match for the first 30 minutes and then stuck in there until the last 20.
Dunno why I’m bothering, though. It’s like trying to tell Robbored that Gary Johnson did a half-decent job with us and that Danny Wilson wasn’t really the messiah.

So glad we’ve got a proper game coming up on Saturday where the fans will be right on it again. We can’t just let our season drift now.
-
Hope this doesn’t get any messier because we wouldn’t deserve that. Done us proud tonight.

Williams and James struggling mobility wise.
They’re playing against De Bruyne and Phillips, to be fair.

I think we’ve had way more of the game than we did in the League Cup home tie.
-
Feel like we’ve got a goal or two in us… it’s more how many they score.
-
-
Anyone else tempted to just switch it off now? This might be as good as we all feel for the rest of the night.

I’m so excited I’ve already gone through my first beer and I only finished work seven minutes ago. Gutted I can’t be there.

If fully fit and affordable, keeping him is a no brainer. We won’t be able to sign better.

Hope this is very much a stop-gap. Big TFG vibes. Would like to think we may look at Umbro given the Bristol Bears deal.

You can’t be too far off a call-up at this rate.

Certainly dominated for 70 minutes. Should’ve had the game sewn up in the first half when we ripped through them. They were never going to be as poor after the break.
