  1. We seem to be going in the right direction.  One observation that Pearson made when here, is that we lose far too many games.  17 last season and 17 this season with one game to go.  We need to turn at least a third of those defeats into draws if we’re to be serious playoff contenders.

Rumours Williams has been offered a contract.  I doubt anyone is that surprised by that.  But the big question is what offers might be get elsewhere.

I would like him to stay, but offering him a deal doesn’t mean it’s done.

I agree.  It’s been a good run, and largely we’ve played well / better since Easter.

All on the summer now.  Over to the “hierarchy”.  Happily give LM credit for getting us back on track.  I would like us not to be so boom and bust though! 🤣🤣🤣

    Confirmed by BT today.

No ones said anything about it being driven the medical staff.

But, if the story is that he initially failed a medical in the summer, we’ve now signed him in the January under a new medical team, and he’s now having real trouble with constant tendinitis ever since he joined, that is causing him to not being able to train properly, nor be anywhere near in contention for the u21s let alone the first team. It’s not a good look.

    Couple that with:

Tinnion - ‘he’s fine, but going through a mini pre season’

‘he was the best player in Ireland’

Manning - ‘he’s picked up a little knock’

He’s now clearly not even training.

Then add in the fact by the time next season rolls around, he won’t have played a game in the best part of 10 months, and will be a standard light years ahead of where he’s come from. That’s assuming he’s even good enough to be considered for the first team.

It’s really terrible optics all round, but pretty consistent with everything coming out of the club, let’s be honest.

Been training the last few weeks.  Due to start an U21 game next week.  BT on RTV.

I'm not sure how people think being able to "appeal" like in cricket etc would help. These decisions people are talking about have already been reviewed and people will always disagree with subjective calls

Down the road AI may be the answer.  It would relatively straightforward to programme what is a hand ball, what is a foul etc.  It will almost certainly need refining and various iterations, but taking the human element out of VAR is the way forwards.

  6. The simple solution to the VAR problem is to allow, as in cricket, the on field captain to call for a review of contentious decisions.  I would suggest one review per each half, to be retained if the review is successful, lost if it’s not.  As in cricket the review would be carried out by an off field official whose decision would be binding.   No need to send the on field ref to a monitor.

The on field captain would be able to review any decision, including offside, handball, potential second yellow cards etc.etc and adds an element of discretion in the use of VAR.

Think it’s down to what squad we shape up this summer.  I don’t think we will be spending much, hence the look abroad, plus Bird is already signed.

What’s your view on Burgzorg Dave?  Fits the profile of what we’re looking for.  1 year on his contract at Mainz.  I thought he was impressive last Saturday.

All that celebrating at Plymouth when they beat Leicester and they are still right in the thick of it!

Celebrating staying up when you can still mathematically go down.  Who would do such a foolish thing?

Finally it’s getting there. We should be walking away with another 3 points if it wasn’t for some shocking refereeing.

    Cant wait for next season.

TBF Tim, you can’t blame the ref.  The linesman for their goal was shocking.   Thd Cornick goal looked on, but was much tighter.  That said the Lino should only give offside if he’s certain.   Looked like he guessed to me.

At the moment front 3 should be Foden, Kane & Palmer.

Nay, nay and thrice nay, Foden is wasted playing wide.  He has to start at No 10 with Bellingham and Rice deeper.
