If Manning has anything about him, he should be considering his own position imo. Imagine working for this lot

You’re clutching at straws, he’s not going to walk away from a contract with more than 3 years to run.

Or back in the 1950s and before, when computers weren't setting the fixtures and football was a cheap weekend entertainment for working people such that some would hold a season ticket for both City and Rovers so as to be confident of having a game to watch every Saturday.

Growing up in the 60s I used to go and watch the reserves play in the Football Combination on the Saturdays we were away.   Got in for free most weeks.

The last four of the FA Youth Cup are Millwall, Leeds, Us and Man City. Better (category one) academy sides have gone out - notably Man U to category 3 Swindon - because those academies prioritise development of their players over a bauble. However, in the past players in the U18s of youth cup finalists have been excellent players - Saka, Reece James, Cole Palmer etc

    This says two things:

    - Players in youth cup semis/finals have been good enough to play at a higher level than us if given the chance

    - However, teams will generally put the development of the player above the trophy win

So, you’re likely to be wrong on both counts. And that doesn’t mean people don’t want us to win the FA Youth Cup. But it does mean it’s reasonable to question if it’s really the most important thing for the club.

The FA youth Cup is hardly a bauble.  Chelsea, Man U, Man City and Liverpool are all multiple winners.

It would be a huge coup for the club to get to the final, unlikely as it is.

Look at the quality of the goals in the 2nd leg of last year’s final

To get back to our next game against WBA i think we have had very  little success at the hawthornes, don't have the stats but we nearly always lose.So regardless of who the manager is we never get any points. For the west brom fans they will be expecting a comfortable win.

Except we won there last season.

  5. After yesterday’s crucial result and with the pressure off, Win 5 of the last 9 games of the season.  A good preseason which is a launch pad to a good start which sees us in and around the top 6 at the end of October.

I thought sacking Pearson was the most boneheaded stupid decision the club has made in my lifetime.  That said, although Manning doesn’t inspire confidence, I hope for his sake, and ours, he can turn things around and produce a more appetising brand of football.

It’s not ‘all that matters’ though , is it

It was regarding staying in the championship.  If we’d lost today our championship future really would have been a lot more precarious.  Not getting relegated might not matter to you, but it does to me.

The only bad result for us today really….as others have said, need WBA to do us a favour tomorrow 🤞

We need to do ourselves a favour tomorrow.
