  1. Well I’ll row against the tide.  I’d rather watch a boring 1-0 win than an exciting 3-2 loss.

The problem is, as we all know, we don’t have the players to play for a 0-0 draw, with the hope of nicking it at the end.  Whether Nige will change the style of play, when he has the financial leeway to bring in a few defenders,  remains to be seen.

That six wins on the spin, Norwich commentators say we gave them their biggest test so far this season. We were worth a point. A season or two back we would have lost that 6-0. On to Burnley.

Tempting fate, but Burnley were far from impressive last night.  If, and that’s an enormous if, we can cut out the defensive mistakes, we can go there and win.

Early days I know but it’s looking ominous for the few, bought in a shit load of players, struggling to beat poor teams at home, joey Barton being joey Barton.. how devastating. They come across a league where 95% of teams have better infrastructure bigger support they struggle.. always been the way

Like Forest they got promoted off the back of loan players, and like Forest they’re doomed to relegation.

Rangers v Napoli, and Napoli v Rangers.

Neither will have away fans. The latter because there won't be Napoli fans at this weeks game, linked to logistics and policing and deemed sporting integrity respectively.

Just as well.  Naples is a great city to visit as a tourist, but I wouldn’t visit there as an away support under any circumstances.

Burnley should have put that to bed in the 2nd half. WBA are so wasteful in the final third. A draw is a good result for the rest of the division.

Should have had a second pen.  Stonewall handball.

  6. Before we get carried away with the self congratulation, may I remind everyone that last year we only took 3 points out 36 against the clubs who finished in the top 6, and have yet to play a team who are likely to finish in this year’s top 6.

We will have a much better idea of the merits of this squad in a few weeks, when we play Norwich and Burnley away.

A load of points incoming because we have a really good squad as it is- not perfect, not complete but the best strike force in...errr... ever(?) - pretty much and a defence that should be able to keep out less goals than we can score.

Sorry if you got excited but we are where we are and it ain't bad.

We'll know more about where we are after the away games at Norwich and Burnley.  Until then I reserve judgement.

Everton are pushing for Brereton-Diaz today so that makes Semenyo leaving less likely, one less club IMO.

Plus think Brereton-Diaz is ahead of him in the striker pecking order so I'm not too worried about this window.

Good.  One less problem to worry about on Saturday.

Speaking of weird stats in the Championship tonight - BBC website reporting the Cardiff-Luton attendance as 7,202. That has to be a typo, surely? I know they’ve been poor and typically have a fair few empty seats, but 7,000?!?

Their own website doesn’t have a figure so I’m not seeing it contradicted anywhere.

Sky showing the same attendance.  Strange.
