FWIW I think the likes of Towler and Bell will learn and progress far more playing men’s football in the conference than they would playing against Cat 1 youth teams.

For me a luxury player is one that comes into a successful team that is capable of grinding out 1-0 wins and adds a bit of stardust. Charlie George and the Arsenal double winning team of 1971 springs to mind. I agree that the concept of luxury players is outdated in.
