  1. the Club and local business have made their views very well known. I agree, and as a Bath born and bred person, the Rugby Club is an integral part of the life of central Bath. The moneyed Bath likes to live on a Chocolate Box lid though No I'm serious. I too am ex St Brendans. Same year, same Rugby team
  2. the famous Good Night Irene would sound fantastic...oh hang on....the away fans would be louder too
  3. you claim that...BUT its a major uphill struggle. Friends of the Rec (and their well financed opposition) have a million more tricks to play...at every last stage of the way. The Rec was bequeathed to amateur sport.....and that is Bath Rugbys biggest problem if I was them, I'd surrender . Bruce lives in France and couldnt give a toss about 'em now
  4. just to lob the cat among the pigeons...I was at school with Bruce (owner of Bath Rugby). If I recall correctly, he was a very minor Rovers fan, but Rugby was always his major passion on the sporting front. I'd pretty much toss the Gas theory to one side now.. he was/is far too sensible to bring the swamp donkeys to the party.
  5. Bang On!!!! Suspect the local rowing club would be chucking a fit too
  6. that speed camera at the bottom of Saltford Hill would be clicking like a paparazzi photographer
  7. cant see it myself. Public Transport is shocking, car parking is virtually non existent and the land space would need to be massive to accommodate everything they would need to (including parking), so I cant buy into the Saltford rumour. If the old Fry's site in Keynsham was still going begging, I'd have thought that it would have been just the site.....fitting the criteria that there is a railway station, it's a large site and there are plenty of pubs in Keynsham. That and the fact that Keynsham houses the council of Bath and North East Somerset. Its all conjecture of course, but if I had to pinpoint a site, I'd be looking toward Trowbridge (the training ground is in Farleigh Hungerford) or Chippenham for Bath Rugby... and The Gas have no business there at all
  8. Totally agree. Bath Rugby have a huge uphill task with their plans. To add a "Football team "would raise opposition still further. I honestly believe that Bath Rugby are in a "no win" situation and their Chew born and raised owner will have to bite the bullet and pull the club toward an out of town venue that almost certainly wont be toward Bristol. With land prices at a prohibitive price in Bath, my belief is that they'll move to Wiltshire (where much core support lies). The Gas havent got any cash to put into the venture....and that leaves 'em in a very poor situation. The unfortunate losers in all this are Bath City FC...whose tentative enquiry about selling Twerton Park and playing at The Rec was swiftly rejected
  9. Ive no idea how things started at Amici....I didnt see anything and I refuse to comment on what I didnt witness. I have been to plenty of City away games when City fans have been acting up though, and plenty where they weren't. I'm not give any reader the "holier than thou" story, but I would say we are no worse than many other groups of fans. My own feelings about the Gas are pretty much a shrug of the shoulders. They will always see the best in their own crew, much like they tend to see the best in Wael and his mob. My consolation in all this, is that it'll all come tumbling down...I suspect sooner rather than later
  10. Just had a brief butch through his Twitter Feed. The bloke is so idiotic he can't even understand that he's embarrassed himself and the club he follows....passing the whole comment off as a "Joke". I know a few in the Military who would love the last word on this "joke".
  11. Listened to that interview with a genuine open mind. Wow, he really didnt want to say very much and he certainly didn't want to commit to anything about the Ground or the Training Facility. I'm very surprised he wasn't better prepared for that . Lots of deflections, lots of mystery and all in all if I was one of the "Bitters" I'd be very suspicious and feel very let down. He talks of himself being committed...but deflects questions about DS or Hani's commitment. "Several possible future venues"....? I wonder if they've just lost interest and are just clipping questions into the long grass for someone else (an owner at a later stage) to answer.
  12. Christ. I'll have a pint of what this ******* on http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/12662/give-weeks
  13. err no. The ex Mrs was Gas ..(it was very tough keeping a straight face on the day they went out of the league), but I'm definitely not coupled up at the moment, and because I don't want any more mini me's, I've had the snip ?
  14. I was beginning to wonder they could get Loyalty clubcard with that kit
  15. dont panic..they must be due for a king sized clanger.
  16. shame you took to walking out..... the experience (if you were able to keep your laughter bolted inside) would have been priceless.
  17. slack jawed listening to Radio Bristol whilst sitting on my sofa.. a mixture of laughter, joy.. (and keeping it all under wraps cos Mrs Sweeney was a Gashead). She eventually looked at me at about 7 (after I'd played it down for a while) and told me to "let rip... you;re obviously dying to". I ambled off down The Plough with a smirk on my face and got plastered. Oddly I had a very full wallet, and a pub full of Saints and Brighton fans kept buying me drinks. Wonder if they have an issue with the Blue Few too?
  18. forgive me... I'm out of "the loop" at the moment. I hear rumours that The Bristol Arena may be transferred from it's current site to Filton. Is there any chance The Gastards could ride on the back of this and try to attract a new stadium for themselves on the same/adjacent site?
  19. I fear you may be right...on a positive note, who'd want any of our defenders? My Dog (asleep in the corner) showed more interest in that Leeds corner than they did
  20. Ashton Gate takes some stick for it's "Rugby lines" but Elland Road isn't short of 'em either
  21. a three goal lead... to draw 3-3 (with the aid of two OG's). On the face of it, there may be a question about match betting.
  22. he looks embarrassed to be with that scarf doesn't he. If he could have raised his left hand and hid his face, I'm sure he would have
