why do people find it so hard to understand that if the right player came along we will sign them regardless of age,
Goldborne for example is 27 kodja was 26,
The perfect examples to show it is not rigid.
We could probably make a profit already if we wanted to cash in on Kodjia. (Hope we don't)
And with Golbourne being a Bristol boy, the fee of approx £300,000 would appear to be very reasonable for one who we may never recoup any money but who may well give us the next 4 to 6 years.
That pillar has to be more flexible than some of the others.

I don't believe that at all. You need a stable infrastructure from which to build. I'm sure the 5 pillars will evolve as we become more successful, after all the stadium will be built and the training facilities will have been put in place.
And in a couple of years, how many more Academy boys will be in the side or knocking loudly on the door?
If we get two a year making it permanently to our first team, selling one for a big fee every couple of years, supporters will have a totally different view on the "under 24" pillar.
We have started to build and it will not happen overnight, but it will be worth it.

Firstly I completely agree with the concept of 5 Pillars.
Reference the comment about not spending large transfer fees. It is allowed to spend any amount from £0 to £plenty, so long as there is a realistic or reasonable chance that there will be a profit on the deal in the future. For example Grey is already worth more to Burnley than they paid because he has continued scoring goals / could also help them to go back up again.
Kodjia is also likely to command a larger fee now than the purchase price.
What we should not be doing is spending £millions, example Trundle, and getting zero return eighteen months later.
Surely this is just common sense? Would you pay £200,000 for a house, knowing that the sale price in two years will be £100,000?
Of course not.

I'd like someone not mentioned. Though Pearson built that Leicester team that is top of Prem- even if he's a bit caustic. I do really like Paul Jewell and Glenn Hoddle too.
Whatever turns you on but don't inflict them on us.

once again we have had more chances but no goals. We have to start being more clinical.
What is the betting that Leeds will score with their first shot on target?
-
Baker is a liability. No sense of control after he has been booked. Put Pearce on.
-
Same old story.
No efforts on target.
Conceding in injury time.
Nil points.

Already lost count of number of times that Freeman has lost the ball.

How predictable each game is now.

I'm now looking forward to Cotterill's after match comments.

I have more confidence of getting something out of being 2-0 down with this team than any other I've seen us have.
I thought we always believed.
Yes we believe. That City will always be capable of snatching defeat from any situation.
How on earth will we fill our stadium next season?
-
Not good enough. Inept attack. Another long shot screams in. Stupid penalty to give away.
We are living in a Fool's Paradise!
-
The pessimist in me says we will lose 0-1 in the last few minutes!
-
We still haven't had a shot on target this second half.
Don't shoot, don't win!

A great read, thank you! Although strictly (and pedantically) speaking, Birmingham is not in the Black Country, I think you'll find.
I like your score prediction though, and I too expect Kodjia to get at least one today
Yes, it is a bit like calling a Baggies fan a Brummie. To us it's all the same area of the West Midlands, but to Blues fans it is similar to Cockernees accusing all City fans of being Welsh!

Do you have a tablet or a smartphone or something? Because you can download the radio player app and you can listen to BBC Bristol anywhere in the world
But I think the BBC block football commentaries via internet for contractual reasons.

Why does he say Sainsbury's have S**T on Bristol public?
1/2 of Bristol is more than happy with them
I will always shop there
I expect some GASH Heads will say they will stay away from Sainsburys
But they will probably win the same amount
Why does he keep forgetting (On purpose) the way they pinched the ground off the people of Bristol and the Rugby Memorial
They are Gypsies who want to pinch more again off others!!!!
Agree with every word. I am still angry at the way that the Dunfords managed to obtain the ownership of the Memorial Ground. That club sold it's stadium, Eastville, in the 1930's because the alternative was bankruptcy and now they own the Memorial, they think everyone else should help them over their poor housekeeping.

On the bus on the way to Chesterfield, looking forward to the game but expecting the home team to win. However, I don't really care, I'm mainly going to applaud the 2015 LEAGUE 1 CHAMPIONS!
3-1 to Chesterfield I reckon
I won't break my heart if we do not win, BUT right now, I do care and want us to win.
-
Amazed we didn't put at least one youngster on the bench, even if they were unlikely to come on it would have been a good experience for them.
Perhaps we have not registered any of the young ones like Batten, Morrell, Lemonheigh-Evans for League One?
-
Another two points wasted?
Or another one won?
I think the former and instead of wrapping it up, we are creating too much tension for ourselves.
-
Keeper mistake?
Or not enough challenges to block the possibility of a shot?
-
Yet another long distance goal for an opposing team. Why do we concede so many like this?
-
We must get a bigger percentage of shots on target. Hitting them wide does no good!
Patchy performance today on a dodgy pitch.
