I think the shirts were only available from yesterday, saw loads of people who had been in the shop though with bags full of items. I didn’t go in there as it was rammed, as was everywhere. The fan village I had to walk through twice which was impossible, the queues in the concourses for drinks were as long as I’ve ever seen and more. Staff were working flat out, the club must have took an absolute fortune last night.
What a great atmosphere too. Just like our football team we look to have some hardworking players. I got the feeling that Bath felt they only had to turn up but they came across a very determined Bristol side who were certainly not going to let that happen. Yes we had to defend, and were on the ropes a bit just before our player was binned but when he returned we just got stronger. The try we scored was just infr9ntbof me so I was well happy.
Nice to see some of our football players there too, sat just behind me. Brownhill, Hegeler, Bailey, Scotty Murray, and Frankie to name a few.
You should have been on the 23.15 train to Weston/Staunton.
Intimate is the best way to describe how we had to jam ourselves in.
Good evening, wasn't it!

Three Ashton Gate full houses for me in the last eight months. Nothing like a big crowd, derby game to get the noise levels up. Only hope my old ticker will stand all the excitement this weekend.
Wins for Bris and City? Yes please.

Janneh? Under 23 striker.

£23m of talent out the door but only one defeat in the first five, consecutive clean sheets and consecutive away wins. I’ll take that.
There’ll be a few posters we don’t hear from tonight.
I'm not one to keep my head below the parapet.
What a difference a (four) day(s) make(s).
Apologies to everyone for my miseries last week. Let's hope this is not another false dawn.

The last time I didn't buy a season ticket was when Pulis was appointed manager. Couldn't stand the bloke, his Gas connection and style of football.
However, I watched the Pulis interview (posted above) and found him honest (I think), interesting and respectful. Crazy since I have stopped watching the Johnson interviews towards the end of last season as I find them full of excuses, management speak and bull.
Pulis will still get stick from me come 3pm.
Frankly a manager as hardened, wily and determined as To would take us to the places we don't normally play.
Not him of course but one like him.

Now over 20,000 sold for this game, including Season Tickets.
Sell out before matchday?
-
We had only one remnant of last season's back five but still cannot defend any better than a team of eight year old.
According to commentary, best defender was Kelly who will probably lose his place Dasilva.
3/10. Must do better.

Patterson hasn't scored a goal in 2018.
Striker or on strike?
Has now?!!!!!?

Very average start to the season. Can we improve on that?
Hope so otherwise.........

Absolutely pathetic. A decent manager would get us promoted!
You can call my post rubbish but how many more times is a Lee Johnson City side going to squander healthy leads late in the game.
Has he learnt nothing in his four years as a manager?

I expected the worst so I'm, that's a very good result. Oh me of little faith.
What I'm more surprised at is the amount of vitriol against some of our players. It's a team game and away at in form second in the table, that is a very creditable draw.
Another point, the losing run halted, and still in the hunt.

it's something that Reid, Patterson, ODowda and Brownhill have had to learn as well and they are certainly improving with that part of their all round game, just occasionally all of them try to be too clever in dangerous areas, if they any of them have aspirations to play at an even higher level then it is most certainly a requirement these days.
All of the above are gifted and talented individuals and It is wonderful when those little flashes of genius come off but sometimes costly when they don't, there is a time and a place for genius.
As I said they are all improving in that area of their game in fact all of the above have improved and are still improving since day one of this season.
My comment was not meant as a criticism of your post which I agree with wholeheartedly. Just an additional comment about one of our subs who had barely ten minutes on the pitch who made two important defensive contributions with two tackles near their penalty area and the half way line.

Ref Esmond Million's match markings above.
I would give Eliasson an 8 solely for his tackle on Christie to snuff out another marauding run late in the game by probably the best right back in this league. For someone who our Swedish colleagues said couldn't defend, he's learning fast.
It's the little things like this which are making it such a good season so far.

Stand by what I said. Delighted with the win AND I think Lloyd Kelly playing over Magnússon when Bryan is injured would benefit the club in the long term. That's my opinion. And if you want to be a spend your Saturday Evening trawling through 16 pages on a matchday thread finding posts to quote why don't you search a bit harder and quote the later one I wrote!!!!
And Vyner should get a game or two as well. How else do we get progress for the younger members of our squad?

Some very old money, you know the sort that fell asleep on the back benches of the Lords about 20 years ago and are still there. The sort that own a pile through 10 generations but are a bit hard up for cash yet still wield enormous influence in the corridors of Westminster and are from both political polars... These are the types who have been 'befriended' by the dirty money and is replicated on Capitol Hill. These are the core reasons we see a lack of action or will.
I once heard that when William the Conqueror dished out all the land that he didn't want, it went to about 150 of his most trusted knights. It is reputed that these 150 families are still among the richest and most influential people in Britain. Wars and financial depressions hardly seem to adversely affect them. When I lived in Portugal, some middle class locals were adamant that there was an elite that ran the government, the legal system and the communications especially newspapers.
It's probably the same in most West European countries and also the US. Me, I was born with nothing and will be the same when I die.

Normally an away point at Wednesday is gratefully received. However, we denied them any shots on target but our Achilles heel denied us another three points.
What is our Achilles heel? Our lack of clinical finishing which will be the reason why we won't be challenging for automatic promotion.
I'm not complaining or criticising as we've done a good job and are still maintaining improved form on last season. Perhaps my disappointment shows how far we've come.

Absolutely superb Havanatopia. I went on a school trip aged 12 to see a Bessemer converter at a steel works in Cardiff. One of the most awesome sights I've ever seen. The heat was overpowering.
Just like I hope City can be this afternoon.

A gutsy performance to get another three points and with another formation. My only problem was that we didn't "manage" the game well enough in the last twenty minutes. The game was for too open and we allowed Cardiff too many opportunities to get the ball into our box. An unlucky ricochet could have turned a good win into a disappointing draw.
But let me not be too critical as three wins on the bounce is a very good return from the last week before the international break. Well on course to stay up!

60 years ago, that's amazing. When was your first City game out of interest?!
Good Friday April 7th 1950 v Aldershot Town. Won 2-0
Have I suffered since!

My first visit there was in 1957-58. Yet another season of struggle and change of Manager with Peter Doherty replacing Pat Beasley.
April 7th we beat Cardiff 2-0, then April 12th beat Barnsley 5-0 with Bert Tindill scoring a hat-trick, both home games.
19 April at Fulham, Tindill scored another three and we won 4-3. They were missing three players on international duty for Scotland and England. Johnny Haynes was one.
When was the last time a City striker scored hat-tricks in two consecutive league games?
PS. While checking league tables for that season, I spotted that Scunthorpe & Lindsey United finished as champions of Division Three (North). They dropped "& Lindsey" during that summer.

Great result even if not a flowing performance. And it gets us off 21 points so no repetition of last season. We are a totally different squad this year and, unless we get more long term injuries, should be able to finish above tenth which will be tremendous.

Ah, what a wonderful evening to be alive.
We lived in Shropshire for several years and my son was born in Shrewsbury, and his team, despite my best efforts are The Shrews.....and my Brother-in-law just happens to be an increasingly bitter blue! :-D
I lived there for 11 years. My second favourite club.
