  1. Wonderful memories that will never leave you. It's why most of us get hooked on the club and why it's almost impossible to change clubs at any time of your life. Keep the faith.
  2. Ta very much. It's never possible to please everyone but some on here appear to be extremely unhappy unless we are winning every game by at least 10-0 with no yellow or red cards. The sort who would expect their parents to spend £500 on a box of crayons at Christmas!
  3. I feel sorry for Conway. He is left alone in the middle of a three with two wide on the touchline; I cannot call them wingers as they rarely create any clear cut chances. We rarely, and usually only when we are chasing late in the game, attack through the middle. If we'd played the same way with Atyeo on his own up front, his career would have been played 650 with goals 35.
  4. One of the all time greats at football management.
  5. I was there to see our new lights and a great Wolves team.
  6. I looked at the next six matches and I wouldn't expect any more than six points. Anything better will be very hard earned.
  7. One of the top class professionals that we have ever had at Bristol City. A pleasure to watch him play.
  8. I think not because in season against foreign countries was mid week. He did not play in a "Home International" And the couple of world cup qualifiers versus Republic of Ireland who had City centre forward Dermott Curtis in both games, didn't, if my memory is correct, make him miss a City match.
  9. John Atyeo is the record holder for appearances. Two minutes sub appearance in the final minutes does not account for the 90 minutes of every match which PJW Atyeo completed with very few exceptions when he had to leave the pitch due to injury. I saw hundreds of his games and the only one that stands out was first game of 1960-61 season at Valley Parade when injury prevented him finishing. No subs then.
  10. He is a hypocrite as he supports countries where males rule and women are third class citizens. And countries where anyone who is other than straight (is that correct?) is punished or treated badly. I'm sorry if I don't know all the latest terms and names for those who differ from the majority.
  11. Will Naismith stay here? Is he one the LM will want to play? I suspect he'll be on his way in summer.
  12. While we continue to play second halves, sideways and backwards all the time allowing away teams to keep us pinned in our own half at the Atyeo away fans end, leaving the City fans in the rest of the ground with absolutely nothing to get excited about, the atmosphere will be dead!
  13. @Harry But we need our defence and midfield to mix up the passes they provide. It's all very well to keep going across the back 3/4 and then to the touchlines, left and right, or back to the defence, from whence it came. We must also mix this up with passing forward in the middle of the field and opening opponents defences with a more direct route. Every time our midfield passes the ball back to defence is, at present, an opportunity wasted.
  14. All this talk about footballers mental attitudes. It's exactly the same in the outside world where some people have strong feelings, determined to succeed at everything they do and others who are content to drift along without any effort to change themselves. The former ones get to managerial posts whether they are suited or not. The latter end up sweeping the floor very badly.
  15. I can't speak Welsh but know pronunciation from my grandparents. And singing the anthem when Cymru slaughter England especially in rugby, is like seventh heaven. Only City going to the Prem can beat that? Diolch yn fawr!
  16. He deserves every bit of good fortune for the rest of his life. Best wishes to Nick Anderson and his family.
  17. But can you say it without stopping and with the correct pronunciation?
  18. But this is building for the future and nothing to do with what we could do with now.
  19. I'm proud to say that I've never been inside, even for a pee.
  20. I remember Peter Doherty at an AGM in 1958, said that he tells his wingers, Hinshelwood and Watkins to try to go past their opposing full back every time they had the ball. He said that he wants them to do that as the one occasion they get past the full back, is when we get the winning goal. How the game has changed because the norm is now to play the ball backwards toward our own goal. I prefer the old, out of date way as it creates goalmouth excitement
  21. And also showing us why we recruited him from Wigan to dominate the defensive and ball winning midfield. Any player in that position is prone to red/yellow cards as a split second mistiming can often happen. From Ginger Peacock, Gerry Gow, Tommy Doherty we need a like midfielder to go places we haven't been for a very long time.
  22. Now they were hard men. Mike Sumerbee who could look after himself on a football pitch, was battered by the Threshing Machine and still came back for more.
