  1. On reflection you are right. I hope NCFC are apologising to their fans, who will be more impacted by this. My main point stands though. Why ever was this game scheduled for the Saturday? This will explain everything that is happening now. Wouldn't it be great though. Although, knowing City, it would probably be in next year's Christmas broadcast... I suspect from your alias that you walk to the game! Your lack of empathy for people who have planned, and paid out for, a great weekend away in Bristol perhaps reflects a naivety. I expect the Sweden "holiday makers" can afford to miss the game. But that's not the point. The service from City to those fans is abysmal and unacceptable.
  2. I think there are 2 questions that need to be answered. The responses may be very illuminating. Firstly, why was this game ever on the Saturday? I suggest that one or other of the teams asked for it to be on Saturday. What has happened since? It's possible that the police asked for the game to be on Saturday originally. City (and/or NCFC) asked subsequently for it to be put back to Friday. As part of the deal, the police then said "You can have it back to Friday if you don't mention our involvement at all". Would explain why the club has provided no explanation around this. Secondly, why hasn't the club apologised to NCFC fans who are travelling and, more importantly, City fans who are put out by this? Why hasn't the Club's Liaison (not during match days) Officer offered any sort of explanation?
  3. Any correlation here we should know about? Or indeed Bristol City.

    Baldock Today

Would that be like the person who obsessively lists all Baldock's misses (from 8 weeks ago) whilst overlooking the fact he is one of the top scorers in League 1? I think I could accuse that person of self-indulgent bull. Agree? Some people had valid opinions in January and weren't questioning (rightly) the League 1 top scorer's ability. Humble pie is a big mouthful.

    Baldock Today

You shouldn't talk with your mouth full.
  6. It's not a negative. Crawley are on exactly the same points as us with the same goal difference. I assume they are below us alphabetically (or is it then goals scored??). Anyway, after they lose their 6 (yes six!!) games in hand their goal difference will be awful and we continue up the table.

    Baldock Today

    Maybe I just mis-remember but didn't Baldock score a one-on-one today?
  8. Only one team going to lose after Extra Time tonight. That's a big result for us.
  9. I'm looking at the BBC website after 83mins of our game. It genuinely says that we've had 1 (I repeat one) shot on target. I suggest any football manager that plays any formation that results in that stat should be sacked on the spot. I really don't see how hard it is to attack so that we get, ohhh, 3 shots on target?
  10. I'm hoping that at least one of our managers this season will see that Burns is a better option than Harewood. Having said that, I'd hope they'd see me as a better option than Harewood. Has he hit the target this season?
  11. That's why I was keen for someone else to try it.
  12. I'm in the LJ appreciation club. He didn't play badly (no-one did) but he did give the ball away, in bad positions, on a number of occasions. I know it's all about opinions but how anyone watching the game didn't give the MOM to Fontaine is beyond me. He was immense.
  13. An ex-premiership team with ex-premiership players. I haven't even heard of some of those players. Having a long fancy foreign name doesn't make you good at football. We played Crewe last year though I can't remember if Varney played. Which rather sums him up. I think there's a lot of confusion between good players and a good team. Johnson has a knack of getting a good team spirit going which can make up for a lack of top-notch players. Bring them on, is what I say.
  14. I see you've got a few bites on this one already. Well done! Funny thing is, I'm not getting any younger and, for the first time ever, I decided to go on the pitch on Saturday. Must be immaturity setting in. I'm really sorry for you that your greatest life moment has already passed away over 30 years ago. It must be a bleak outlook for you. I'm sure nothing will beat the feelings of us reaching the Premiership whenever that may be. I guess my glass is half full.
  15. Well Bristol Boy, while you are lieing down I wish to commend myself to you as your deputy. We clearly are in tune with respect to player's discipline. However, I think the PFA my be concerned with your "shotgun" disciplinary processes. I suggest something more cunning. "The club regret to announce that our centre half has had his contract terminated with immediate effect after an unfortunate accident involving the Clifton Suspension Bridge". That should put us beyond suspicion. I'm also not keen on the pay as you play scheme. Afterall, for at least 60 minutes of most games, Aaron Brown wasn't playing while he was playing. I'd prefer a pay as you run scheme whereby the player's distance covered is measured and he is paid appropriately. Obviously, any player running up and down the touchline in a pay improvement attempt will be marched straight to Clifton. Phillips will just have to take a massive pay cut.
