  1. Approximately an equal level of obsession as your comments on this thread earlier............which is why they got noticed!!
  2. You're going too early to be honest. If Manning brings his own players in and struggles to improve performances in the first third of next season his job will not be safe. Calling people bed-wetters and talking about others eating humble pie after a record of 33 points in 26 games and 19 points in the last 17 (mediocre but not humble pie levels in truth) would then look a bit daft, especially if he goes on another "run" of poor results. He's still got plenty of fans to win over whether you agree with it or not.
  3. Why? He saved 36 pea rollers and made just the one decent save so I'm led to believe. The Sunderland Manager, the Bristol City Manager and the Sunderland fans who attended the game and commented on their forum were all lying through their teeth when they said he won us a point. Clearly trying to upset someone on here I reckon...................
  4. Did you really? I didn't. All that tells me is that the hierarchy needs a revamp. The Manager? Well, as it's clear he isn't going anywhere, whether you agree with it or not, he needs to produce something to give those who are dithering on season tickets a reason that makes them renew. If Liam had achieved his 33 points in 26 games with a better spread of performances I wouldn't be bothered. Had a certain ex-Manager produced his results we would be seeing words like "streaky" bandied about. In particular he has a real issue beating and even avoiding defeat against lower end teams in the division and look what we have on the horizon, a very comfortable run-in in terms of opposition league position bar Norwich away. So for me he's got to produce performances against this type of team now to show people he can do something more than tread water or worse next season.
  5. If I was on the verge of the sack (Liam isn’t obviously) and didn’t need the dough that would be very tempting!!
  6. The worst thing about it was the sun changed direction at half time……..just our luck!!
  7. Against two teams that need the points a team with 3-4 18 year olds in it would get mullered.
  8. With many season ticket holders yet to renew and having sat through some pretty turgid football. I think Liam owes us at least two decent performances in the last three home games. Can’t guarantee results but let’s see performances now. Show some attacking intent.
  9. Next two home games are the acid test. 10 points in 5 so no confidence issues. Go out and perform.
  10. I counted a dozen world class saves today from Max. Best keeper I’ve ever seen full stop. Should be Ireland first choice………..I’m sure we ALL agree on that.
  11. I know!! However Liam needs to show us these types of teams and Rotherham can be sent packing. It’s a huge red flag on his record so far.
  12. Two “winnable” home games on the horizon and two good opportunities to put in better performances. Two teams who will be desperate to leave the Gate with a 0 on the goals conceded column so let’s see how Liam deals with that.
  13. Leaving in the Summer but there will be competition for him no doubt.
  14. Viktor Johansen will be most saves but not highest percentage.
  15. Don’t say “good save Max”, someone gets very upset.
  16. That’s the point for me. Liam is here to bring about positive change otherwise why sack people and pay settlements? If the last two games are an indicator that he’s getting his act together then fantastic otherwise we’ve spent money to go either nowhere or even backwards and pissed a lot of fans off in the process.
  17. It’s not about being ungrateful either. Everyone pretty much is grateful for the investment but at the same time most individuals on this board, if they had Steve’s nous to become a billionaire in the first place, would be willing to pump a couple of hundred million over twenty plus years into something they care deeply about. The argument if there is one is that we might go about it differently. Unfortunately, if it was me, the rugby and basketball would be sold to others to invest in!!
  18. If you are correct that would make his exposure less than the worst case I paint above on a simple investment v recovery? Not to mention there will likely be intangible benefits to his various interests that you can’t put a direct value on. Regardless, if I was a billionaire losing £5m per year net (it’s obviously a lot more until you sell) on my football club I wouldn’t be losing much sleep over that. You would have to live a long time before it became a concern. It’s an expensive hobby at that level.
  19. We can judge him all we like but Easter has seen that Liam is here next season whether we all like it or not. Anyone who calls for him to be sacked now is wasting energy typing!! What I'm looking for is a run of improved performances (as per the last two matches), not two good ones followed by five defeats (been there) and evidence that the likes of Huddersfield and Rotherham can be put to bed under this manager. Plymouth was a good start in that regard. We won AND were the better side after the first 25 minutes. Do that and I think many fans go into next season with more CONFIDENCE in him which is crucial to avoid some people getting on his back from Day 1 if we don't pick up a result.
  20. If I had enough cash to buy a football club and the Owner tells me I also have to purchase a Rugby Club and a Basketball Club that loses "a bit of money but not too much" I wouldn't be interested in buying it. It might only be double or even one and a half times the work/investment rather than triple but if I'm not interested in Rugby and Basketball then I'm not buying it unless it's a "no brainer" investment opportunity (and as Rugby Union is a mess right now with no signs of recovery on the horizon I'm out!!). @Ian M made a great point that there isn't a queue around the block of Billionaires looking to buy a Football Club let alone a Bristol Sport Football/ Rugby/Basketball Empire. That said, there must be an exit strategy for Steve in any event, surely? I presume, just looking at West Brom going for £80m, his absolute worst case is that he splits Bristol Sport up for quick sale (£100m tops maybe?) and loses a shed load of money on his overall investment albeit that loss would be circa £5-£6m per year for a billionaire? You no doubt know a lot more on that score than I do.
  21. Presumably attends home, not much away or was texting in the ground and not watching the game? Plenty go away who would fail the true supporter test on his/her definition!! Was a noticeable critic of NP though on those threads.
