  1. But also the Lansdowns do give managers time unless there is a very real and immediate danger of relegation, and people within football would also be aware of that. We don't sack managers left right and Center like other clubs, Nige got 2.5 years and they hated him, LJ got 4 years. Yes there are exceptions but if the manager is their sort of manager and they do even just ok, then they will get the time I think.
  2. "Can you give us an example of when you worked as part of team? By Team we mean having another guy telling you the style of football he wants you to play, using the players he wants you to use?"
  3. Agreed, plus the added to draw that he's Frank Lampard, which will no doubt attract players we may want to sign over going to another club. I would prefer an up and coming manager from Europe personally, a lack of Champ experience is not a blocker, plenty of managers come from Europe and do well, and plenty of managers with Champ experience don't do well.
  4. To be fair all we have done is fail as well, so two negatives together makes a positive if my C in GCSE Maths is to be believed!
  5. Especially as the top 2 are miles clear so at best we are looking 1 of 4 playoff places along with about 12 other similar teams!
  6. He actually said that this is the first time they are recruiting a manager with a clear focus! Yeh no sh*t
  7. To be clear I don't want him back! But I would be interested in an up and coming foreign coach coming in rather than the rinse and repeat of English coaches
  8. All the positive talk about Benny makes me think that I'd love us to go rogue and get an unknown foreign coach in, if only for the change!
  9. Probs not been this dissapointed since Joe Jordan left the first time as we were doing well when he left. Bit different with Cotts as we were struggling so could at least appreciate the decision (I appreciate the lack of investment he had), but apart from that, in my 30 odd years of support I can't remember the fans being this gutted by a manager departure
  10. Agree with this, I want us to recruit a winner first and foremost, look at some of the managers who have gained promotion from the Championship in recent years and how much Championship experience they had before promotion. If the list of candidates with Championship experience doesn't include a winner, then you need to look at other leagues for your man
  11. Sorry but this is a Mickey Mouse Rovers reaction, he's gone and that's that, there are no realistic steps
  12. Yeh I can see that but that's what we had in Nige, I guess no choice is guaranteed to succeed.
  13. I wouldn't mind seeing an unknown foreign type to shake things up a bit, I don't know who, but the same old British names is so meh
  14. I see the fruit market is 100% confirmed now as not happening and they are definitely staying put! Begs the question of where the money is coming from to renovate the Mem? If you can't raise non match day revenue significantly then you are basically chucking your money away, even if it's on the cheap with temporary stands, so why would the owners do that? Which begs the next question of will they just sell up as there is no money to be made?
  15. https://www.bristolcityprogrammes.com/product/bristol-city-v-ipswich-town-25-10-2023/ Here's the link for last nights programme! Thanks for the help
  16. As per title, my football hating friend took his football loving nephew to his first match last night and made the cardinal sin of not buying a program. His nephew made him feel very guilty on the way home when he said he wished he had one! Anyway I thought they were online these days but my mate was convinced he saw people selling them? My question is we're programs for sale last night and how can I get one? Thanks
  17. My mate who is 42, hates football and has never been to a game is taking his nephew to their first ever football match after winning some tickets, I feel this is a good omen for a city win!
  18. The positive is that I think by going public Nige is showing that he really wants to stay and see the job through which is great, if he really wanted out he wouldn't say anything, especially if he thought a new contract was defo not going to happen, as he is risking a big fall out and getting the
  19. Why do they need to paint that onto the pitch? Just use a bit of TV magic surely
  20. No it's not, the issue is 90% of supporters don't sing. When we played Man Utd there was no issue with the atmosphere and the singing section was in the same place.
