  1. One thing not factored in though is player availability. LM has not been forced to play young James at left back, or Andy King at CB and had 100% availability from TC up front for example. Although we still have a couple out, LM has definitely had a stronger, more consistent squad to pick from over his four games than what was available for Nige in the dozen or so preceding games.
  2. Dads army classic… “Didn’t see you last night at camouflage training Jones..” ”Thank you very much, sir”
  3. Well if JL said so… Any new investor who would truly benefit Bristol Sport needs to be a majority shareholder or it’ll just be more of the same.
  4. So for £60m you can buy WBA, or for the same investment take a 30% share in BS and sit back and share the pain with JL.. sounds compelling..
  5. I fancy Cornick to start as Tommy seems a bit lost and out of sorts atm… Coming off of the bench could be a good thing for TC too a la Rotherham away? 3-1 to us.. COYR’s
  6. Good work Dave.. can you please let me know the pools numbers for the weekend
  7. QPR now two up… bank to back wins… mental
  8. Well I did say we should be optimistic… but really shouldn’t we be competitive against these 5 teams? Which 2 games do you see us losing?
  9. Of the 5 games, none of the home games on paper are as tough as Boro… neither of the away games will be as tough as Southampton, where we were unlucky not to get at least a point.. So we should be optimistic, we were also the better side in the draw with Hull earlier this season.. 11 points
  10. Agree with comments on the current academy list and at the moment Liam would rather go with seven on the bench rather than give false hope for a couple of them to even gain first team match-day experience. If JL really thinks that we’re that close then maybe two or three quality loan additions in January should be enough to supplement this squad and finish the job? In realty though, we’ll likely be pestering Oxford for one or two of their favourites with fingers crossed that they turn out to be immediate Mark Sykes type successes in the Championship as opposed to Kane Wilson type failures….
  11. Not willing to take that bet but, on Friday Rotherham drew with Leeds, on Tuesday QPR put 4 past Stoke and last night Weds drew with Leicester. A week ago Huddersfield would have also likely been a candidate but they drew with Southampton on Sat and won away to Sunderland last night. The Championship is mental and a mini run can make a massive difference for any team.
  12. Not working for me in Australia… getting good stream on hesgoal
  13. Perhaps the under 21’s getting stuffed 5-1 by Millwall does not merit a call up to the first team squad.. I guess the young uns need to really stand out to get their chance?
  14. Absolutely brilliant.. hope you all had a great time at the match and are enjoying your cider time in Bristol.
  15. Most of us aren’t sure what the QPR game was…
  16. Ray Cashley always enjoyed a nice drop… and Donnie Gillies at right back always liked to get a head on it…
  17. Nah.. you were much more like Judas.
  18. Except it’s not on sale… they want £28! The same stupid price as the Nanking Wells light box.
  19. Hopefully they’ll realise that another sh it performance against Boro two days before the meeting won’t help.
  20. Or.. anyone that they’ve spoken to on closer inspection don’t want a bar of it because they’re as tinpot as ***.
  21. Plus Clive Whitehead and Jimmy Mann.. great days. I was also there when we sent Tottenham down, pretty scary getting back to our car after the game.. they came down in numbers, were in the East End at KO (not for too long after) and were none too pleased after the game about being relegated. Also remember the next season after being gutted to lose at home to Arsenal to hear… Tottenham 9 Bristol Rovers 0
  22. Yea, even you would struggle to whip up a meaningful spreadsheet based on that limited data Dave ..
  23. Well Oxford beat QPR 5-0 in a pre season friendly, and we beat Oxford 5-1.. 1-0 to us written all over it..
  24. If we win tomorrow, then we will have won more championship games at Loftus Road in 2023 than QPR… (us along with three or four other teams it must be said) Makes our home form look reasonable.. COYR’s.
  25. Just need JL to get him out on the track over the international break for a bit of one on one conditioning..
