    Scott Twine

You obviously studied him and see things differently then? In his one game for us while learning to fit in with his new team mates, and in addition to making that EFL team of the week, he’s already scored more goals this season than Joe and is now level with TGH, Anis and Harry. He is a better player than what we’ve got and therefore is the type of player that we need. Turn that frown upside down

Well done indeed.. there’s a lot of midfield talent to compete against up there in the top end of the championship ️. Quite a debut..
  3. TBF the league 1 team under Cotts as good as it was struggled in the championship. Johnson Sr brought in flair players like Nick Carle and Lee Trundle to supplement what we had and got us to that play off final. Johnson Jr brought in quality players like Tammy on loan (thank God) and Adam Webster as an upgrade for Cotts player of the season Flint to maintain our championship status. I know I’m going against the grain on here but I think that what we need now is again a couple of proven quality players to supplement the squad that we have now to best enable us to push on. I’m all for the signings of the promising players young Adam and Josh as they are clearly not for the here and now they’re for the future.. But we don’t need anymore Hayden, Harry and Anis type quality players.. we got enough.
  4. Boro look a rabble at the moment v Chelsea.. 4-0 down in the first half..
  5. Yea, that explains it Dave.. Hopefully it all works out.
  6. I think Bournemouth were of the opinion that they were exploiting inbound recruitment when they signed our two, three if we include LK. Tactical nous could come into play if we were trading in the premier league fringe market (like Twine) or proven championship players, as opposed to delving into leagues 1 and 2 or lower, whereby better quality players could join and better develop our current squad.. therefore enhancing our points position over the season whilst also increasing squad market sell-on value too.
  7. When we sold AS and AS we included sell on clauses so we could benefit from a progressive club doing exactly what you’ve mentioned above.. not sure why we have to consistently remain near the bottom of the food chain especially when we now have some scope to move. I guess we’ll have to disagree on how we interpret tactical nous.
  8. We’d value most of our players at >£2.5m.. how can we improve our current squad by paying less?
  9. Sorry Harry.. just seen your latest post.
  10. Our form’s too patchy to draw meaningful conclusions even considering the facts of Liam’s results to date.. In our recent home match on New Year’s Day against Millwall we only managed 5 shots with 1 on target.. can’t talk that up too much.
  11. Well none of ‘em are as good as West Ham… But they’re all a damn sight better than Millwall and Blackburn.. So who knows?
  12. Since when did credentials matter at Ashton Gate?
  13. Well if his mrs wants to stay in Bristol, I guess a reunion with our old boys over at the mem could be an option? Not a good one, but an option..
  14. Actually worse 10 of those in 3 games.. The performances have been so hit and miss, the wins over Watford away especially and Boro / Hull at home were good. But bloody hell some of the others Huddersfield, Brum, Blackburn have been really poor.
  15. Looking at those first class training facilities, Scotty boy won’t want to be going back up north.
  16. I listened to that one on TS as well, the West Ham fan was certainly shooting nonsense from the hip.. But I thought this guy explained his thoughts on why he thought Moyes should go quite well. Basically suggesting that Moyes’ man management skills are poor and players not routinely in the staring 11 are kept too much on the outside and not made to feel part of the team, in his opinion DM is too much old school and not in tune with modern day requirements. He also suggested that West Ham until now we’re leading the premier charts for player’s availability (low injuries) and now with a few exclusions they will / have been found out big time.. his thoughts not mine, but I thought he come across well.
  17. If you’ve got 15 minutes to spare it’s well worth the watch. A good and honest assessment by a true WHU supporter on how he sees things at the moment. Interesting perspective on Moyes’ perceived shortcomings despite Europe success and top 6 at the moment. Gives credit to us over the two legs and believes that after our two games Sheffield Utd will now know how to be West Ham on the weekend.

Great interview… and how refreshing to hear someone from the club openly admit how good a manager and person big Nige was, and also say that Liam is a good coach too. If only the tossers who run this club could have been so gracious.
  19. Juergen Klopp has dodged a bullet big time..
  20. On the BBC website comments … “Ings can only get better..”
  21. Very well played George.. Best game of the season by far . A real confidence booster.
  22. I tend to agree, if we were poles apart why would Burnley have recalled him from Hull?
  23. So we sold Alex Scott for approx £25m and to ensure our ongoing viability we need to shop around Carlisle, Wycombe, Oxford or wherever for a replacement that will cost us about as much in interest that the nest egg will generate.. This strategy will not only not take us forward over the next couple of seasons, we will regress as current experienced players leave or retire and out of contract players possibly see their future elsewhere and the squad gradually breaks up. Surely investing in not one but at least two quality signings of the ilk of Twine and still hold £10~15m as a nest egg would be the right move in supporting the current crop of top-half championship players and giving us supporters some real optimism for the future?
