I'm pretty sure Arsenal gave it a go at some stage in the late 70's. My old man is still proud for chasing them out.

Correct - they had a 'go' but got sussed as they came in , and got mullered as they came in by the turnstile area by the old Williams

Its recounted in at least one Gooners 70s/ 80s book

They admit that they came full of swagger to teach the country bumpkins a lesson after City invaded Highbury on that infamous August day , but got a bit of a shock !!!

Spurs had a go late in the First Division 'survival season' (when we beat them 1-0 at the Gate ifI recall right with a Cormack pen) - got saved by the rozzers and taken around to the open end

  2. Just forced myself to watch yep the goals - jeeeeeeeeeeeeez

First Goal Clarke - Harris on right touch line 40 Yds from goal , being watched by Baker & Williams - allowed to wander forward and then across the pitch and curls / chips into far post - looked like Flint could have almost headed it away and FF ??????

The penalty - wtf JK was doing tugging at opponent when no danger

The third - awful defensive header from Ayling and the rest of defence all at sea and no one seemingly picking up opponents (Flint has a tendency to be caught in no mans land - not marking but unable to block any shot - the danger is the MAN Aiden not the space)

Not good - dire defending in a number of ways

What annoys me more than the result is how some people come across as so smug that we're losing so they can stick the boot in.

Football is a game of variables and a **** load of them. I've seen more than enough this season to believe that we'll be OK and a freak result at Rotherham won't change that.

Don't think anyone wants to see us 3-0 down at Rotherham Fordy

Be honest if you had to stick a months wages on us winning a particular game what game remaining would you stick it on ????

I can't say hand on heart I'm confident of 3 points against any side home or away and today reinforces that worry

Too much more of performances like this and I reckon Cott's could be on dodgy ground. It's all well and good moaning that we don't have the quality etc etc but SL won't put up with this rubbish for long.

Hopefully, it's just a bad day but we sound awful.

A heavy deat at somewhere like Rotherham is definitely a potential destabiliser for any manager

I have bad news for you, we don't have a like for like replacement on our books so in all probability we'll be weaker next week.

Agree sadly Graham, as much as IMO  Pack or Fielding are in need of improvement / replacement it says it all that as a Championship side with one of the wealthiest owners in British Football we havnt got an obvious alternative in our threadbare squad to either !!!

  6. Can't believe that everybody and his brother think January will save us

    A car crash of summer

A very mixed at best signing of Loanees

January a notoriously difficult / far from ideal time to buy

What better players are seriously going to ' drop down ' to us to join a relegation battle ?? ( Unless their are a rack of players in L1 / L2 that I've missed who will immediately improve us)

Read some of the posts above. Do you think that's necessary 30 minutes into the game?

You don't know anything about me.

Your post says a lot - don't need to know much else ta

Your reaction is more / as pathetic as any post that's  pi**ed on your cornflakes

Say that to their faces would you ?
