  1. Bad result for Burnley yesterday, just don’t seem to be able to get a run together and not taking advantage of their games in hand. Leeds have to win today (Norwich h), Everton (wolves h) could be a tricky game.
  2. Need him to play games so a decision can be made whether to retain him or not
  3. The danger is when people state a player is on £x per week without any substance to the comment as fact
  4. Financially we were in a different position then to where we are now. Appreciate we have the option of paying monthly , and I have no idea what Pearson’s salary actually is but we’d probably havre to include Fleming as well? Plus the costs of a new manager / coaching staff I just don’t see where the wiggle room is currently.
  5. Personally don’t think we should ever have signed Simpson either short term or on a permanent contract, due to his conviction. However, I can see why he was signed, experienced, relatively cheap as back up to Vyner (who I think Pearson probably wanted to play at RB this season). Our lack of right sided defensive options are clear for all to see with Bell playing there Saturday, Vyner is out of favour and Tanner coming back from injury. Part of the issue with Simpson is that James & King have been unavailable this season and the three ex Leicester players have contributed very little to date. We simply don’t know what funds Pearson had available and maybe these three players he knew and probably trusts were seen as best options. Everything about wages is unknown , heard on the podcast on Sunday he was on just shy of £10K per week (£500k per year) but no idea if that’s correct and find it hard to understand how people can openly state what players earn. It hadn’t worked out and for me a player with should never have signed last season.
  6. @headhuntercould I challenge you on a statement you made on the podcast. You replied to a message about a comment I posted, but how we would afford to replace Pearson, you commented the club can always find money similar to the government. Where would we find this money from? Really interested in your thoughts. @NcnsBcfchope your sons did well at Tae Kwon Do event, a martial art I did many years ago
  7. Totally agree , I fail to understand how people manage to get flares into the ground? Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in incidents at grounds up and down the country. Had the misfortune of a small group of Swindon town fans yesterday about 20 who were playing up in Halifax - they were playing Bradford away yesterday !
  8. Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk says his "country and honour" are more important than any fight in the ring as he prepares to defend Ukraine's capital Kyiv against invading Russian forces. The 35-year-old, who beat Britain's Anthony Joshua in September to become the unified heavyweight champion, has enlisted in Ukraine's military. "There is no fear, absolutely no fear," he told CNN. "There's just bafflement - how could this be in the 21st century?" Usyk, who was speaking via video call and an interpreter from a basement in Kyiv, said he did not know if there was any chance of him fulfilling a planned May rematch with Joshua. "I really don't know when I'm going to be stepping back in the ring," he said. "My country and my honour are more important to me than a championship belt."
  9. Interested how a quick sale can be completed , don’t we have a fit and proper test for ownership ?
  10. No worries , out of interest does anybody know what our financial contribution was to get Tammy on loan and if other conditions were required? Know supposedly there was a set number of games Kent had to play
  11. I’m saying if players are discussed or taking loans on, then an awareness of what the deal actually is , otherwise there is no context to it.
  12. Live in West Yorkshire and popped into local after a walk and a couple of local fellas had their Leeds tops on with Bielsa on the back - which is strange when a clubs sacked their manager. They’ve resigned themselves to relegation.
  13. Think this for me was the issue with the podcast, everyone agreed we don’t have any money but then stated we should be bringing in loans as if there’s no cost involved. Interestingly when the Villa player we were linked with was mentioned nobody knew the details of his loan , what forest were paying, paid or the terms of the loan. It defeated the argument of loans if you don’t know the costs involved!!
  14. The loan issue is difficult to gage without understanding what loan fee / percentage of wages clubs are paying for their loan players, and as we know our finances are limited. There are also likely to be clauses that players have to play a set number of games which I’d imagine would be frustrating if said player isn’t performing. On the basis we’re not going up or down this season I’d rather we give opportunities to our own players then develop premier league youngesters, as a podcast you’ve continued to promote Cundy - what we’d be your thoughts if we loaned a premier league CB and played him and then let Cundy leave who then goes on to have a good career - your contributors would implode !! As for given Pearson money in the summer from proceeds of sale of Scott, HMM or Semenyo, it’s clear Pearson was shopping in Poundland and went for players he knew. Simpson: should never have signed, personally don’t want someone with his conviction at my club. King: player Pearson knows and trusts and probably his eyes and ears in the dressing room, can’t believe he’d be on a high wage due to lack of activity in past seasons. In hindsight it hasn’t worked but can understand reasons for bringing him in Tanner: to early to judge Atkinson: potential is there, hopefully can come back from injury strongly. Could be a decent player Klose: great signing - hope here next season James: good start to season, poor injury record but hopefully can finish season off strongly and be fit for next season. Good player at Coventry I’ve said it before with Pearson and Fleming at the club we should be better defending and that simply has to improve. We have to find a way to move on our higher earners who aren’t in Pearson’s plans however hard that’s going to be
  15. Agree , think they’ll go down regardless of whether he stayes or not
  16. League Two side Bradford City have appointed former Wales boss Mark Hughes as their new manager on a contract until the summer of 2024.
  17. What do you get for your money? Appreciate match ticket(s) and lead the players out
  18. @JerrySLOwill there be an opportunity for non season ticket holders to purchase the brochure produced?
  19. Awful about Chris - remember going to his testimonial in the 90’s. Had limited dealings with Jimmy Mann and as you say not interested at all
  20. Only six of the eight were there? Was it Chris Garland’s son?
  21. The contact posted above provides me with primed home programmes
  22. The sound of the city podcast the other week was very good and informative
  23. Try info@bristolcityprogrammes.com
  24. Jonathan Pearce would also be an option but I guess the Lansdowns and the club may not like that option
